  1. Christ if this thing doesn’t go through and we’re stuck with Bruce and an even less enthused Ashley ?‍♂️
  2. I agree. As a few others have said on here it’s probably along the lines of “the takeover will get the go ahead if X,Y,Z is done first” relating to all the piracy stuff. There’s probably all sorts of contractual wrangling and lawyers involved. Utterly tedious the whole thing though.
  3. I know Masters has said there’s no time limit but surely this will have to be concluded either just before the season finishes or just after. The negative impact on the club moving forwards if this goes on into August will be massive, I mean it’s already had a negative impact so far.
  4. I wouldn’t actually be surprised if certain players/agents have been contacted or at least given a nod on the potential new project. This takeover is going to have to happen soon though regarding planning for next season.
  5. I’d probably continue as I have been since Rafa left. Look out for results, watch the occasional match on tv but all with a very distant feeling. It would just all feel fairly pointless really as we know what the remit would be. More of the same bullshit and I certainly wouldn’t go back to St James with Ashley there.
  6. Well they were already handing out free season tickets. I guess some may hang on given recent results but I agree I think so many would just think “nah I’m done”. The idea of being stuck with an even less enthused Ashley (I know is that possible) doesn’t even bare thinking about. More mediocrity or worse with Bruce moving forwards.
  7. Michael Martins piece summed things up pretty nicely in the article linked on here. Bruce saying ASM wouldn’t be sold was laughable given his complete lack of control and the point made that’s exactly why he’s in place.
  8. Pod on the tube podcast with Caulkin talking to Matt Slater shows why this is so complex. It didn’t nullify my frustration but at least gave more insight into the length of time it’s taking. PL clearly wanting the investment but can’t piss off others at the same time. They’ll know a jumping St James on sky at 4pm on a Sunday is massive for the Prem league and it’ll be pretty embarrassing for the gov’t if they reject it. Let’s hope it goes through soon anyway.
  9. I’d sooner wait than it be rejected like. If it’s rejected I’m out. Same I’m the same too. I haven’t been back to St James after Rafa left and my interest would dip further if the takeover fails
  10. I would like to hear a conversation between Edwards and Michael Martin ?
  11. He’s a Bein pundit f*** me, they've got some diabolical pundits. Surprised they haven't got Pardew on board yet tbh, if that's the standard. Keysey and Gray love your old skool British dinosaurs like big Sam and Reidy. Jobs for the boys. And people who are more than happy to talk us down
  12. Brilliant call mate. Jim White hated it. I heard you this morning, really enjoyed it. The fact White hated it was even better ?
  13. This is where I am too I think. Main thing is the takeover goes through.
  14. Agreed. Caulkin summed it up in a tweet saying opportunity for PL to get major investment but also sort out piracy simultaneously. That’s clearly the reason it’s taking so long (I hope anyway)
  15. I think we might actually win this with our pace on the counter and they’ll be nervous as fuck too. I don’t actually mind Bournemouth to be fair.
  16. I agree but have we got any faith in Masters, he’s either going to come out of this having secured investment and dealt with piracy, or having driven the Saudis away to invest in another country. The fact they’re allowing Bein to bully them, really is a bad look though and makes them look very weak. This is probably why the whole thing has taken so long. As midds said some pages back it’s quite likely that it’s “failed” and the Saudis have been told what’s needed to clear it. Not driving the Saudis away and the potential investment whilst also not pissing off BeIn too much is the rock and hard place situation. My gut instinct is it’ll probably go through eventually because money talks in the end but the PL will want to have everything in order so there’s no comeback on them. The length of time it’s gone on however is ridiculous now.
  17. It’s already ridiculous but if it goes past this week with no resolution.......
  18. Given the scenes in Liverpool the other night I’d imagine if this does go through the timing of the announcement will be factored in.
  19. It seems like this is finally moving in the right direction (famous last words)
