They need to sign an established forward who provides a goal threat from the off. Anything less will be a failure but then we're pretty used to that with the cretins running the club

Nowt like some overly sensationalised generalised pessimism eh? If Carr has scouted this lad for the last couple of years and reckons he's a goer then I'd hazard a guess he'd be a good signing. Fat Mike isn't going to hand over 10-12m for a knacker. Carr's done pretty well so far with his other signings

Whether they get Remy is one thing but I certainly think they'll bring in a decent striker, they dont have any choice. Even idiots surely can recognise that carrying on the season given our predicament with Cisse and Shola as your only strikers is suicidal especially given that they've sold the striker who has scored all our goals. I don't really have any faith in this board but if that was to happen I think I'll probably call it quits to be honest and go into exile properly

I still say there's a fair chance of getting him given the French players at the club already, that has to count for a lot surely

Can't believe Pool would shell out again after spending 12m on sturridge
  6. Exactly the same as me, next 3 games will reveal a lot

All are important but the next 3 and the 4 after Chelsea/Spurs are huge

If we still have 20 points after Villa I'll be siding with even the most pessimistic person on here
  9. I disagree, when he's on the right of a front 3 he seems to a lot of influence on play and defenses find it very difficult to pick him up when he goes either outside or inside. When Pardew plays him on the wing of a 4-4-2 he is truly wasted there
  10. Yeah it's completely gone, so much so that we showed absolutely no spirit or fight at either old trafford or the emirates. Have a word
  11. Fair play to him, he didn't have to come out and say that
  12. Won't happen but god can you imagine a monster like that in our defense  Dreamland stuff
  13. I'm far from saying Pardew is blameless
  14. Thing is as well, Pardew spoke in that BBC radio Newcastle phone in towards end of last season about the positions he wanted to strengthen. He basically mentioned Debuchy and Douglas. Do you think he wanted to go into this season seeing Williamson starting at the back? He clearly knew the areas that needed to be filled because the players already there weren't up to it. But he has zero say on transfers so has no control who comes in at the end of the day. I'd say its a fair bet that while will have made mistakes if he'd filled the positions he wanted at the beginning of the season we wouldn't be where we are in the table now. His major failing though is his mouthpiece for MA/DL when the club clearly moved the goal posts in the summer window and he started spouting "we should be glad and thankful to Mike that he didn't sell any of our players" He let himself down big style there and even as an optimist on here and someone who doesn't think Pardew should go, that p*ssed me off.
  15. And no mention of Steven Taylor. I'd hazard a guess that that's pure speculation on injuries. Can't see HBA in the team fold until Reading at the absolute earliest, more like bench for Villa and then in for Chelsea.
  16. This should've been exactly the type of game he made an impact in but he did absolutely nothing

Be a great tonic to have this lad come in and start ripping into defenses.
  18. Pardew or any other manager won't have any bearing on that. That's player recruitment and what you can make in terms of profit when you sell a player on. Pardew has zero say over transfers, that is pretty clear. That's the aim of an owner who wants to run a business and make money or rather get his money back. It doesn't matter who is brought in after Pardew, I believe this will always be the ethos of Ashley.

We weren't playing well before Saylor got injured but he definitely helped make us harder to beat and we drew a few games then. He'll make a difference when he's back but to rely on him staying fit for the rest of the season will be another cock up of the board./
  20. Pardew was to blame today no doubt. I also think most of those players out there today simply aren't up to it though. It's a two way thing.
  21. Same as, I have grave concerns but I haven't thrown in the towel yet looking at the bigger picture
  22. But who do people want to replace him and secondly who realistically is the board going to get? They're not going to sack him unless maybe he gets injured players back and new signings and then goes on to lose game after game. I think sacking him now would be a mistake. The players were playing for him at old trafford and the emirates....fatigue and mistakes cost us in the end but he hasn't lost the dressing room as far as I can see. The effort was there. I'm resvering judgement until after the next 3 league games which are vital. Today was a shocker but I was expecting to lose and while we lacked shape it only served to prove that our back up players are worse than we thought. Injured players back and some signings and I think we'll be ok. Fair enough if they find a better option to replace him in the summer though.
  23. DOn't start doing that ffs, I'll have a dream tonight that that's our side only to wake up to the cold harsh reality
