The strangest thing about Obertan is his insistance to cut back inside all the time or just cut back and slow things down. If he really just ran at full backs he'd put them under great pressure because he's got the beating of most of them speed wise. He might lose the ball a few times but he'd get more balls in and probably win a few penalties. Can't figure that one out.

I like the idea that he's good in the air and sounds like he combines good strength to be a target man but also the skill to take players on, on the wing. As mentioned above could be an ideal foil for Ba.

I have faith in Carr finding good players and its great to sell players for a massive profit but the problem is Ashley isn't interested in re-investing that money in the team, full stop end of story. A club like ours will always be vulnerable to bids for our top players but where does it stop? We can't simply sell someone as soon as they start doing well in the premier league because we'll never move forward. Someone mentioned on here recently about how Spurs have progressed with the sales of the likes of Berbatov but it's also been pointed out that that money has gone straight back into the side. Assuming Tiote is soled in the summer for 25m, when you throw in sky money, season ticket sales and the fact that the Carroll money has never really been fully spent we should be looking to spend 35-40m. But it won't happen under this regime. I'm all for bringing to an end the days of fat cat players at our club sitting around doing nowt and I think the club has done well there but Ashley simply doesn't have the interest in the club, it's progression or care what the fans think. I thought Santon looked good and we looked more solid down the left. Surely he has to start against Swansea because even if there are any question marks about him he's so much better than Ryan Taylor. For one he actually has pace to get back into position or take on quicker players. I was gutted after Chelsea but I think we got what we were expecting yesterday. It was pretty obvious Lambert was going to throw the big lads at us without any centre halfs and the resulting goals were pretty predictable. The sending off was annoying and there were poor displays (Obertan) but we basically got what was coming imo and for that reason I don't feel like my insides have been pulled out like last week against Chelsea.

Either way it was a fucking ridiculous thing to do given our injury problems. Furthermore we made it 3-2 so who knows we might have been able to snatch something with 11 v 11. Idiot.
