So Sanogo accepts as a signing for Arsenal but Keman doesn't accept as one for us. System.

What does that even mean? You mean the people who didn't rate his managerial record, disliked his style of football and saw it as completely unsustainable and inevitably saw his shortcomings brought to light. Proper "hipster" that, judging someone on their managerial ability Well im guessing we all pretty much looked in disgust when Pardew was announced and he admitted himself he had the fans to win over. He won me over and a fair few more but you still had that certain section that even after a 5th place finish wasn't good enough and we were still shit and Pardew needed to go, so you're never going to win them ones over. However the people who enjoyed the success of a 5th place finished, looked forward to Europe and generally felt excited to push on but only to be let down by a horrific season, now seemingly hate Pardew again like he first arrived. Those are the fans that i'm not sure will fall in the same trap again if he does have another successful season. Holding hands up and saying Pards has done well for a second time isn't something i can see fans doing easily.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how many actually do turn to like him again, obviously there is hipsters who have always disliked him and never been won over. However if he does turn out to have another good year, i wonder if people will convert to him twice?
-
I'd still rather pay that than what City have for Fernandinho. It is very steep but i think he's going to be a lovely player and like you say will fill Alonso's role down the line.
-
Have you ever seen someone with the mantle 'Don't believe what Pardew says, it's all media talk unless it fits my agenda'? I have. I don't know what that means.

Who manages the players, Alan? Is it really that simple? For Pardew? Yes, it's a simple and convenient excuse. By saying an excuse you are basically saying low confidence wasn't a factor? Correct? Yes it's Pardew's job to raise confidence and ultimately he failed to do this, sometimes though confidence isn't such an easy thing to gather no matter hwo good your man-managment skills are. Confidence is a major factor in football yet you shrug it off like it means nothing and it's a petty excuse. Moyes had seasons at Everton where he struggled with team confidence and they slumped to tame league finishes, he's now in charge of the biggest club in the land.

Just look at our side in general, think about our players, think about our potential starting 11 even if we didn't sign anyone but kept everyone, how many teams would you swap it for? Norwich/Swansea/Southampton? (These are the ones everyone keeps banging on about). Last season was a complete write off, yes Pardew made a lot of mistakes last year, the players never had a run of confidence, we seem to brush of the fact we did have a lot injuries and the Europa league was a distraction regardless if different players played Thursday/Sunday, we brush this off as Pardew pointed this out to be a problem so we say it's an excuse. I don't see how anyone looking out our team strongly believes we won't be near top 10, personally i have no doubt we will be in it, i can't see us hitting the heights of 5th but with our team as it stands, it's still a f***ing good one nonetheless. Couple of signings would be nice to give us all a massive boost, we don’t expect anything from Man City so as long as we don’t get a tanking we have the fixtures to get off to a very good start then from there on anything is possible once good momentum and confidence is flowing. Look again at the sides you have quoted - yes, we may have better players but lets be honest - most of us would swap Pardew for at least 2 of those teams' manager. You can have all the decent players you want - and we are far from perfect throughout the side - but if you have a crap manager its just a waste of talent. Pardew is still here and even if he goes, we are unlikely to get a half-decent replacement unless Ashley has worked something out with, say, Poyet. Kinnear doesn't count.... We sacked Hughton and Pochettino has done fuck all as a manager as far as i'm concerned. Oh so he came in and played some pretty football when Adkins was sacked, got a few decent results and finished safely. Jury is still out on him, he's splashing the cash, just paid something like 13 million for a bloke from the SPL, lets all panic. Not saying Pardew is the one, like ive stated previously, i just don't trust Ashley to bring anyone else in who wouldn't cause this forum to go into meltdown (not that it takes much). I'm happy we have kept him on, im willing to write off last season, he's had one good/one bad and next season is where he should be evidently judged. Saying that, he could finish 5th again yet still people would say it's a fluke, or it's Pardew so we want him out. No matter what he does a section of fans will always hate him, each to their own.

I wouldn't say it's clearly better supporters, but it's sad to read that the life of Newcastle United inside of you is being drained away and i can certainly see why. Ashley is a cunt, i'll back almost any manager underneath him (not JFK) as i can't begin to think what a fucking struggle it must be with him as boss, one of the main reasons why i backed Pardew to stay was simply because i don't trust the cunt in the slightest to bring in anyone which wouldn't cause a bigger stir. On the flip side of things though, actually on the pitch, considering we were in the championship just a few year ago, we have built up a side filled with quality, if we can get a couple of nice signings in, obviously a top winger/striker would be a joy, actually on the pitch there isn't much we have to be too concerned about and for that i'm actually genuinely looking forward to entering SJP again come the start of the season.

No surprise, I agree. In fact, to get us into a position where we only need 2 first team players this summer is pretty good. Question is can we find the right ones at the right prices. The 'right price' aka the absolute bare minimum is the major flaw in our transfer activity though It can be an issue, aye. I'm sure we've missed out on some transfers on account of money. Like the top target we wasted 2 years watching his summer. Not convinced we really wanted Bony but the Debuchy delay and last summers striker failures set us back last season Well i did say i would like to see us tweak it here and there, this being one of them. However i do believe if the deal is worth pulling off, Ashley will get the money out regardless if it’s double figures or not. We pretty much had Remy in Jan had it not been for QPR and there massive wage allocation preventing it. We plucked up the money for Cisse, although we probz saved ourselves a couple of million from not signing him earlier, similar to Debuchy. I don’t think he’s set a specific budget this summer but if someone is going to cost excess of 10 million and he looks the part, the money will be put down. Like previously said, it’s just finding the right players to fit.
-
I personally think we have one of the best transfer strategies in the league. Obviously i'd like us to tweak it here and there but suppose you have to take the rough with the smooth but i'm happy the way we go about things in general.
-
Wish other clubs didn't sign players so there wasn't such an uproar of how shit Newcastle are.
-
Yeah would have been him, my mate told me the same thing. Unless you're my mate....
-
He should put the feelers out for a move to Spurs since they lost out on David Villa. Think he would be perfect for them.
-
Don't know why but i've always thought the Champions of PL and Championship should always kick off the season agaisnt each other. Just a random thought i've always had, not saying that would be any better quality then Liverpool-Stoke.
-
Haven't made my mind up on him yet. He's had just as many good performanes for Chelsea as he has bad for me. Can't see him being anything great that's for sure.
-
All too predictable. NUFC bid for young keeper, lets link current young keeper to a team with cash/dodgy keeper

I think last year was the worst premier league i've seen for some time. Found it remotely boring tbh. Manure's team pissed the league when their side wasn't anything special. Arsenal/Spurs had their usual battle. Everton spunked over Liverpool. Newcastle flopped. Swansea over achieved. Qpr turned out to be a shambolic mess. About as exciting as the PL got. Think next season will be a whole better but the Premier League certainly lost an edge last season and i much enjoyed watching European leagues on evening weekend rather than PL.
-
Agreed. I think we will see even less next year. People go on like Pardew's tactic is hoofball, when quite clearly he is saying we need to retain possession a lot more and look more comfortable on the ball, taking control of games, I’m fairly certain you can't do that style of play by kicking it up to Cisse at any given opportunity. Last year, especially the back end of the season, our confidence was abysmal and as soon as we came under pressure, nobody in our side could take the control back, we crumbled in the second half time and time again as soon as the opposition came at us. Once again I don’t think Pardew was going in at half time with a 0-0/1-0 and telling our players to now sit back for 45 minutes and soak up the pressure, our players just underperformed. Not taking all the blame away from Pardew by any means, tactics from the start and during certain games was poor, team selections and choices/timing of substitutions was sometimes beyond belief.

Doesn't that remain to be seen? They've never/hardly played. MYM is young and new to the league, and yes his style is similar to Colo. But it's not like Taylor physically dominates all his opponents. I can see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't conclude that Colo/Mapou couldn't work yet. Basically how i feel. And the fact the PL now has a shortage of physical hardmen strikers. Game has completely changed from say 10/15 year ago. I think Colo/MYM could would perfectly well.

Who is rumoured to be replacing Benteke since Bent is beign forced out?
