He was one of the best performers in the first half of last season. Player of the season up until December imo.

Plenty of FBs. Santon and Haidara for LB, Debuchy and cover from Santon and Anita for RB, with Tavernier looking OK for Carling Cup games etc. I wouldn't be looking to buy a FB unless we spot a great deal on someone young. Yanga-Mbiwa looked tidy at the end of the season too. Really looking forward to having Santon back fit, I think he's become underrated on here after a run of dodgy games when the whole side was struggling. He's a fine footballer IMO. Santon is one of the most talented at the club. Lovely footballer.

FFS Dave, give it up. I was just saying it would be a good signing, nothing about how credible the rumour is.

Haidara/Anita/Mbiwa best cover we've got. It's enough imo. Don't rate Tav.

I get annoyed when i see us linked with Matt Taylor knowing what utter bullshit it is. I get even more annoyed at being linked with Scott Sinclair for even trying to build my hopes up.
  6. Why terrible? Because this would be another Viduka, Harewood type. Right up Pardew's street, high ball for Bent.
  7. Didn't Real just want an extra couple of million on the transfer? 19 million to 21 or something like that? And Arsenal wouldn't budge. Then they offer 30 million for Suarez (they basically knew that would be laughed at)

Fair play like. Glad he's gone, we are doing a decent job of getting rid of the s****. If Williamson goes it would have been a great clear out job. Aye, you deserve respect if you take pay cut to go elsewhere for first team football. Not enough footballers these days that would do that. Either leave first team football, for more money and a place on the bench. Or just happy to sit on the bench picking up nice wages, not interested in moving.

But he's shit. Knock 3 mill off.
  10. Surely they haven't got that much though to wipe out other competition? At the end of the day, all clubs got given the big bucks TV deal.
  11. Fair enough Norwich have been in the hunt for some nice names, but anyone can do that, i just don't understand what Norwich are actually offering to attract them to sign? Likes of Swansea/Southampton, they've sort of got the foreign type manager in, playing nice brand of football, can see why a few might turn up and play for them. However Norwich are just shit. Just don't understand what would lure you in to playing for them.
  12. We're going to get bummed in the air and against physical sidesColo is not strong or fantastic in the air, neither is MYM and N'Koulou is 5'10" Which sides would these be who would bum us with a Colo/MYM partnership?
  13. It's the final we all wanted to see. Apart from Paddy.
  14. So it was armless then?

  17. I think appearance clauses in contracts are awful for majority of players, it really does massively twist the managers arm in a sense*. Not surprised it’s causing a bit of a stumbling for Man Utd. Pards and Jonas*
  18. Where do you stand on it? Do you think Barca should agree, look to phase Xavi out maybe and place more trust in Thiago? Or do you not want this kind of demands at the club and feel he's over stepping his mark? Xavi needs replacement, and Thiago's the closest thing we have to that. I'd really want him to stay, but it's likely that this is not going to happen. He certainly is a brilliant prospect. That said, Thiago's coming across as a bit of a c***. He's played quite a bit these two years - more than Xavi or Iniesta when both were breaking into the squad -, and has yet never shown that he deserves to be in the starting XI like he seems to assume. He should have earnt it in the pitch instead of engineering a move. Agree with that. 15 million seems to be fairly cheap imo. I don't know if it's a clause or his contract is running short, just when i seen that figure i thought it was a nice price in todays crazy financial market.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Not sure but you can tell Ben Arfa has clocked it whatever it is.

Look set to steer clear  Same article pin pointing we snubbed Kone as he was injured for 18 months....5 year ago!!! The whole article is a shambles. Ryder is a knob.
  22. I am jealous to be honest but fair play to them for having a go. If only we would do the same. If we did people on here would just mock them for wasting time Only because we would be. Absolute trollers on our end. In Southamptons case i cant see any way Damiano would even consider them so thats the same really. Banega would be a welcome addition here though we wont pay that for him unless we get massive money for Tiote or someone. I really like Banaga but i'd hate to think what he will become with Newcastle's nightlife, albeit his performances p*ssed in Spain was still better that Tiote's sober.
