Krul Simpson Willo Colo Santon Obertan Cabaye Guthrie Jonas HBA Best/Shola I think guthrie deserves his place back in the middle, played well when he was there when Cabaye/Tiote were missing until he got injured. Looked much improved than in recent seasons he's played. I think wide right is available for anyone to try and take up, Obertan/Taylor/Sammy or just any random we can find who is at least half decent. Then Shola and Best is a close one, both go through stages of top form but both can play 90 minutes of utter garbage on a regualr basis.

Ba's reminded me of Big Dunc's goal back in the day, just sheer strength then technique power and accuracy with the swing of the boot! Top Draw!

The game we played last night was never going to suit HBA, who actually wanted HBA to get on last night to replace Shola? However it shows that we can change it around and play the more 'direct' route of football if needed, even though we still played good football last night. We migh change our tactics around for QPR and play a different style with HBA in the team if he performs against Blackburn. At least we aren't a one dimensional long ball merchants like some on here make us out to be under Pardew.

It's not a team that completely stands out, bother wingers are frightening agaisnt our full backs. Carrick Anderson in the middle is hardly a title winning partnerhsip. I can see us getting a decent result if Cabaye and Tiote can grab hold of the game.

Pardew claiming HBA would never be playing on the wing in this side before he had even kicked a ball this season, i think he thought people wouldn't question it and just accept and see HBA as a striker, he was sadly mistaken, not sure he predicted Obertan to be so naff to be fair like. He's running out of decent excuses himself.

I agree with this, the only saving grace is he's been 'saving him' for january, but ultimately it could just be 3 games, I'm positive he could have brought more to the team already this season if given the chance, on the wing for example. He's never been a winger. He was forced to play there at Lyon. He's got no interest in defending either. The full back would get completely merked. Absolute bollocks about this winger having defend like. So what if he got a bit lazy out on the wing, at least we will break with more numbers. Ginola and Robert never bothered half the time, why do we expect it now. Jonas is one of the best there is at tracking back and fans still don't like him, stick HBA on the wing and if he doesn't bother tracking, absolutly bothered aslong as he performing at the other end of the pitch.

I agree with this but surely he should have been playing Ben Arfa last few games to get him up to speed. You can't expect a player to be playing 15 minutes here and there then put them in a run of games expecting him to be firing on all cylinders now your star striker has left?

Really? The Pardew abuse is getting pretty pathetic now Fagdew is absolutly horrendous like. On the flip side, he does himself no favours the way he praises Obertan and Sammy then expects a whole lot more from Ben Arfa. It's like just because HBA is a fan favourite, he feels the need to have tiny pops at him to why he isn't playing. The fact he refuses to play him on the wing is beyond any sort of reasonable explaination.

The problem i have with this whole situation is the fact at the start of the season or when HBA was returning to fitness, pardew stated he wouldn't be playing him on the wing as a wide man but in the hole behind 1 striker. This has just shot himself in the foot becuase you gets fans game after game screaming for Obertan to be hauled for him when it's not going to happen because for some unknown reason Pardew doesn't see HBA as a winger when he's played in that position for large quantities of his career, albeit he may obviously be better in the hole but surely playing out wide is far greater advantage to our side if we are going two up top? Why Pardew insists on not putting HBA out wide and even putting Shola out wide on a couple of occasions is just baffling!
