Aye, Id still be absolutely livid about it if he’d stayed fit and had a great career after us but I console myself with the idea that if he’d stayed we’d have had a crock and that would have possibly been more gutting
-
What was brutal about Carroll was the timing at the end of the window, on deadline day and how it went back and forth a few times. Went on my work break and he was “almost definitely staying” came back and he was in a helicopter
-
Selling Carroll to Liverpool and Cole to Man U were the two worst transfers of my life in terms of how gutted I was
-
Agree, it seems to be either development players who under-18 or £35m+ signings for the first team. There are definitely cheaper options out there but maybe all the criteria they’re looking for means that they price themselves into that range, e.g. personality, ability to play multiple positions, young etc. Hall seems to somehow fall between both camps, costly and development
-
Spurs are the ideal team for Man U to face. Their counter actually works against them

Fantastic half of football this
-
I like Werner, I just don’t rate him as a finisher. He seems to have forgotten that he’s shite at finishing in this league
-
Don’t rate him at all, he gets his feet muddled all the time. Like a Shola
-
He’s looked very good. I remember some people saying he wasn’t as good as was being made out but having seen him more now, I’m disappointed we didn’t get him
-
Ref’s lost control here, get the reds out son
-
Getting a bit nasty, needs to boil over
-
Don’t know how Everton fans can watch this week in, week out. Their forward play looks the worst in the league
-
The Ev are masters of ruining promising positions, so bad at moving the ball around. Villa are the opposite, they seem to rescue lost positions going forward a lot
-
DCL has to put that away
-
Villa’s forward movement is so good, dickheads
-
Pretty sickened by those Coventry banners like. Being a fan isn’t about doing anything possible to upset the opposing fans and crossing any and every line. You’ve got to have something wrong with you to do that
-
They’ve always said our transfer policy is about the right targets longer term, rather than filling immediate needs. It’s frustrating and has meant that this season has been a huge struggle but if it pays off next season and beyond then it ends up being worth it. We have got a cheap deal for Hall long term but an expensive deal short term. Or at least, that’s what I hope. Given the transfer approach, it would suggest that the board are all about the long term and won’t be too fazed by set backs but I’ll admit there’s a lot of inference and guesswork there on my part
-
Impossible for anyone to make a judgement on him. The signs from his time with Chelsea were that he’s going to have a massive future so I’m happy to wait and see. I find it frustrating how little time he gets but Howe’s gotten it right a lot before so I probably need to just suck it up
-
Fucking hell, hope they catch the cunts
-
Thought he looked lively when he came on. Could have done with him on earlier
-
Don’t really have an issue with him at all today, he was great and then they scored a bit of a wonder goal. Not only was it great technique from Bobb but he also got lucky with the way the ball went following Trippier going in. Not really sure what Trippier could have done differently with the ball travelling that way
-
Game by game he’s typically looking our poorest player. He’s much better than he’s showing but he needs to start showing that very soon
-
Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone absolutely bottle it like RUHR’ll has this evening. A complete capitulation mentally
-
So deflated, can’t imagine how the players and Howe feel. We just keep having to defend nonstop in second halves and then concede late on. What is happening to us in second halves? I know we were up against Man City today so it’s a bit different but there’s a big pattern there
-
Fuck off, so sick of us losing games in the last minutes
