I’m not sure, I guess that Gordon has the versatility to do it but I see him as floating more and also playing more on our left but he’s still young and things could change

I don’t think Ashby not playing is indicative of too much about him, just really odd that Moyes didn’t ever play him given how highly rated he is and how much they wanted to hold onto him

Love him, has a big part to play in our squad in the next few years, will always be a good option but in a final where you need a dangerous player on both wings he didn’t really offer that. I recognise that’s not always his game but it is really important we get a pacy, technically gifted winger on the right in the summer window to give us more options

Wouldn’t say the match was decided by a major gulf in class, but by them being extremely solid and clinical in two moments. If we’d gone two up I don’t think we’d have been able to kill the game as well as them so fair play to them for that. Just annoying that they didn’t really create a ton of opportunities or overrun us but they still had a really easy time of it overall. The main take aways are that we need more creativity in midfield and more direct pace / trickery on the wings. I’ve always backed Maxi and I still love him, he was one of our better players on the day but I don’t think he’s going to be a part of our future. We need someone who’s probably a bit more orthodox and can play in Eddie’s system. As an individual he can create something out of nothing but I don’t think he’ll ever be amazing at linking in with other players due to his reading of the game

Aye, was a class occasion and didn’t see anyone hurling abuse at @BlazeT44’s mam. The atmosphere in the room definitely got sucked out a bit by their quick goals but it was great to meet so many people. Think I spoke to the majority of people who made it down from the forum and they were all a great bunch

He’s not remotely average, he’s one of our most consistent players and is improving all the time. Defensively he’s a beast and his attacking side of his game can come on even more

Not ridiculous like, he’s great at set pieces but in the last fifteen games or so he’s been really poor on them. It’s not just that we haven’t scored from them, we haven’t looked like scoring from them. Take a look at the delivery today for Man U’s first, haven’t seen a set piece effort from Trippier like that for ages. He just needs a bit of a rest

Yeah, I’d like to see Targett back in the side, if only to offer something different on set pieces and give our left side more attacking options
