They've become a charity club for midfielders. Must have signed like ten innthe last three windows. Not seen Sahin at all but worried by the comments on here. Would be pissed if they finally had a good player and he was their freebie

If I was a sunderland fan I'd be looking past the money spent and I'd be pretty happy. certainly in the short term. Down the line when there's no cash to spend I'd start to get worried. As a Newcastle fan I'm already looking at the longer term side of things but in the short term they're definitely mid-table which is decent. I think they could get 9th at best. As much as I like Fletcher, he's not a proper goalscorer and there's not anyone approaching that in their side

Personally disagree and don't even want Carroll back, sturridge is probably the most selfish player in the division. He can strike a ball and is fast but he's massively inconsistent and his attitude would really piss me off
-
He said Man U would win the title last year, Mancini likes to talk s*** Not defending Mancini or anything, but it's not exactly talking s*** considering that team came within minutes of actually doing so. My memory, though poor, is telling me he was going on about how they were going to win it even when Man City had a healthy point lead. Saying they were favourites. Pissed me off because it wasn't exactly mind games, just shit chat

Gary Gardner would have been looking to push on this season and make an impact for Villa. Out for 8-9 months with anterior cruciate damage, real shame for the lad. He's looked bright and direct whenever I've seen him

Should go for the hairgrower treatment, might give him some confidence

Good lad is Guthrie, hope he gets a decent reception when he comes to St. James'

Wow, humans never cease to disappoint

How's that? They haven't looked anything special and have just had a midweek game where all of the first team played. Aye, we're not looking great, they're not looking great. Perfect game to try and grind something out of. I'm thinking a draw, hopefully Cabaye puts in a performance

Also rumours he'll be their best ever paid player. Now he would improve them significantly, but they would be paying well over the odds again. Imagine what we could have done with the 30 million they're shelling out on Fletcher and Johnson.. Thing is, that's what they have to do to get decent to good players to go there. I really like both Fletcher and Johnson and while I don't want either here, I think they'll be two of their best players (if Johnson signs) this season and for the next couple. The problem is, when you're signing at such a premium, you're hurting the club financially and stopping it from moving forward properly. The only model that could make Sunderland a top football club would be one where they had an incredibly good scouting system and picked up young players like we're doing. Unfortunately, they have Marty who likes to blow his load all over the place

Our favourite club spokesman is on 5 live sport tonight from 7pm for a chat

Best thing about Feltcher isn't his goals, he's a really hard worker and good team player. They were looking for a striker who'll get fifteen a season. I think that's pushing it with Fletcher even though he's a good player
-
Hope Colo gets the goal actually

Azpilicueta is a very good signing for Chelsea in my opinion. Think he'll develop into one of the best RBs over the next few years
-
The fuss about Marv is that he's a gifted footballer and can be a very good creative threat in a team that doesn't have a lot of creative players. The more games he get, the more he'll improve and influence them. If he stays fit, he'll be a really important player for us
-
He's certainly got a very good footballing brain which is key. Coupled with that, he's got pace, good touch and can strike a ball well. When you bear in mind his attitude, I think it's fair enough to feel excited about him coming through, especially when you read what a nice lad he is

1-1, Saylor. Howay
-
I doubt he wants to leave over it but it doesn't help anything and is a bad reflection on Newcastle fans no matter how small the group. This, it's unacceptable no matter how big the group is. Absolute bunch of dicks
-
Harsh man, he's slow but good in the air and generally solid if not commanding. He's easily championship and lower PL standard
-
He'll have turned into this by now http://positivetv.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/blob_fish_main.jpg Just no mate, just no

No. think Anita will do more than anyone else to take us away from that style

Ince is likely to be around the 7m mark I reckon. Credit to Swansea in this window, they'll be absolutely fine this season and will no doubt be more penetrating than they were under Todger The atmosphere in the prediction thread didn't seem to be the same before the 5-0 last week. Nah, you're right. For a while I thought they'd struggle but they have Neil Taylor/Vorm/Dyer/Michu's come in and performed straight away and if they get Ince, he's an exciting prospect on the wing. (Routledge even had a good PL game the other day). During June, I thought they'd struggle because they'd try to play the same way as last season but teams have found them out now. I think they've improved their squad though and have a few more direct players now
