  1. 8th, would absolutely love 8th. I'd be disappointed with anything lower than 11th
  2. Shola and Lovenkrands make me nauseous, not sure Cunterkrands and Shita are the right way of describing them though. I like Punk's posts in general, uses detail and thinks things through but the Lovenkrands argument is just a no goer for me. Lovenkrands should have done us all a favour and burnt a couple of bins over the past few days, stole a few packets of crisps from Poundland and disappeared never to be seen again
  3. Football commentators and pundits outside this club invariably seem to think we're nailed on to perform badly. I just wonder how much they follow football otuside of the games they watch and the stuff they read in the news, time and again they make embarrassingly naive comments. If they were to actually look at the first team squad we have available and compare it with the other teams in the premiership, we're quite obviously nowhere near bottom four. We're going to surprise a lot of people this year and I'm looking forward to them reeling in their crap for a while. There are so few football pundts/comms out there who do zero studying of other leagues, other players apart from the ones who keep appearing on MOTD every week. Fools
  4. We'll win this 2-1 with about five minutes to go. Genuinely think we've got a great chance at points here. We just need to come out of the blocks and get physical, time and again, Arsenal choke when people bring the game to them
  5. No fan should ever want to see a player who doesn't want to be at their club still there but this one hurts. Those sick fucks have done it again, I didn't think I could hate them anymore than I did on 31st Jan/1st Feb but this will do it. Seeing both Carroll and Enrique against us will hurt a hell of a lot

Still, it'll be a good frame of reference for how good he is. If he performs really well then at least Pardew knows Airey can transfer his talent from reserves to a higher level. Hope he does really well, seems to get his head down and get on with it

    Shola Ameobi

Like Michael says, it's a bit different now. He's obviously only going to get worse which is hard to believe. I understand what you're saying, I like the lad, like his press conferences, he talks a lot of sense and he obviously loves Newcastle. I'd just not like to see him in a Newcastle shirt ever again. More than happy to take a role here after he finishes playing in some capacity, but can't face watching another one of his nothing displays

Am I missing something? People on here are always complaining about money being spent inappropriately at NUFC, how we've got too much dead weight. Everyone is serious and sounds so disheartened about it and now we hear about the possibility of Shola being offered a new contract and people lighten up all of a sudden? How many people are actually joking here? Honestly, if he's offered anything more than a two year contract extension it tells me all I need to know about where NUFC are going
  9. Love this lad's attitude. You can tell he really wants it and from the reserve footage I've seen he has decent technique, can spray the ball round well, can finish and knows how to pick a pass. Will be following him closely while he's at Orient

Of all the Newcastle news to have come out this summer, this is the worst for me. If this happens it just shows what a bunch of fucking saps we are
  11. Went to school with Steven Taylor and Peter Ramage. Ramage was three years older and barely knew him, Steven Taylor I knew a bit mainly because he was good mates with the best footballer in my year. Can't remember much about him in all honesty, he always seemed like a nice enough lad. Ramage was in my sister's year and she said he was a really nice lad
  12. Parker's through balls today have been appalling
  13. West Ham need a decent striker otherwise they'll just repeat what they did last season; Loads of chances, hardly any goals. Would love to see them get knocked out in a playoff final
  14. Disgusting if true, don't believe it
  15. I'm a big fan of Ba and Best playing together. Can't stomach seeing Lovenkrands on the starting sheet again and Shola..... In spite of this, I don't see Ba and Best as just default favourites, both quality players and I think we'll see Leon Best push on this season
  16. Anyone got any news on why Kazenga went off after the first half for Brighton?
  17. Disagree with the majority, he's 22, has excellent ball control, good pace and looks to pick out passes. He seems to fuck up on his final ball too much but he'll develop. My one problem is that he seems too similar to Jonas in that he can beat people and get into good positions then waste it but like I said, I think with time, confidence and being able to consistently play the same role he can be good. Like almost everyone on this board though, I haven't seen him enough.
  18. Yeah, I've got to admit DJ NUFC, you must be living in the mid 90s still. All I ever expect is that somehow we'll get lucky, put a few results together and scrape into the top ten by a point
  19. We'll definitely sign three more players with Enrique leaving, won't let myself believe we won't. I feel like we must have stuff lined up to have given Barton the boot, there has to be some sense in it all somewhere. If not, our season will be one long dont-get-injured-or-we're-fucked
  20. possibly my favourite, Barton's smug-ass face when he turns away from the others, priceless.
  21. Just seems like he's on an emotional meltdown

  24. Mike 'Howard Hughes' Ashley is just reverting to previous form. Before he bought Newcastle, hardly anyone knew anything about him, he now seems to be the shadow man again and this includes stopping anyone from knowing anything truthful about the club. Newcastle's caught in a joke of a position where the players are saying things they shouldn't be saying on twitter and Ashley's not saying things he should be saying. Messy
