"They call us Newcastle United, They call us the team of the land" ends with "Joe,Joe, Joe Harvey"? Was me favourite when I was a kid "Tommy, give us a song" "Little white bull" Loved standing in The Gallowgate (scoreboard/corner), not the same now. Nobody's pissed in me pocket for ages.

And put it all back in? (You've got to understand that you can never beat the bandit)

only time I ever went in The Strawberry it had red and white gingham(?) Formica tables in, and posters for a Damned tour pasted on the walls, long time ago though. Hodgesons Arms behind the brewery was a far batter establishment in my 13 years old opinion. Whoever said above that it used to be grim round the ground was spot on. Unbelievable how it looks now.

Pretty sure (cant find owt on wiki), although having said that, for some reason I thought it was 1978 until a couple of months ago when an enciclopiedic NUFC fan pointed out we didn't play Man U that year!

i think Iv'e aleady posted this somewhere but, 1976 NUFC v MUFC 2-2 draw(div 2)? I was 8, Hodgeson's arms(behind the brewery (Why Oh why did they have to pull this pub down, must have been 25/6 when it went)) for a pre match drink. At ten to three everyone ran to the ground. Sat in the benches in the "New stand" and pretty much watched the (old)Leazes end nutters (Longbenton aggro, Sham army, Wallsend Bootboys, etc.) fight each other for control of the middle of the stand all game.Couldn't tell you who scored or anything but "Hooked" ever since. Love NUFC.(more than football probably )

How is he a top manager that most clubs would love to have? He's probably one of the most overrated managers since Paul Jewel/Phil Brown, he is tactically rubbish and plays boring park the bus football and my 6 month old Grandson has more clue in the transfer market. Did he get a 'blowie' off the mother in law? Welcome to Sunderland, population 240,000, surnames, 3. They've got quarter of a million with three surnames x 3, Sunderlands an inbred club.(on this occasion, yes they are)

Feck! I give up on the quoting carry on, never got it right in all my 11 posts. The point I was trying to convey was I didn't think the dick on on his head was particularly large, goodnight!

Is it me or does the 'Invest in Africa' thing make that photo look like some charity advert? Is it me or does it look more like a photoshopped p*ss take than the GIANT dick drawn on his head? ?

Things you used to get wrong about football when you were little

Goal for Sunderland ( Alan sunderland who played for arsenal obviously) . Arsenal 1 Newcastle 1 baffled me for ages TBH. (I was about 5 at the time.) -
We've grown up to believe that Liverpool exists to win trophies. On that score we've been none too shabby at all, so our league finish though disappointing, is never a disaster in a million years. I've seen us finish 8th before. My god, that must have been horrific.

15-love I think that's game, set and match. JH for a Wimbledon season ticket this year!

This is my favourite post of the nightof the whole thread. Uber critical, rascist and insulting (egg face?) " O'Shea - wank. Saw him for ten mins V Swansea, knew he wouldn't work. Bloody paddy bastard. Go and support the Nazi's again, egg face." I think this stands out in a quite unbeleivable thread! Fecking hell, that's a bit harsh innit. Having said that if we all join Flatline and don't watch it on the telly/PC it might force ashley into splashing out! -
I was at that. 0-0 IIRC. I was there aswell (to be honest it was my first reserve game) Kick off got delayed by 15 minutes.

1976. 2-2 home draw against manure. Hodgsons Arms behind the brewery for half a coke and a pre-match sing song, legged it to the ground at quater to three with my brother his mate and his dad. Sat in the "New stand" benches near the Leazes. I was only 8 and spent most of the game watching "Longbenton Aggro" etc, fighting for control of the centre of the stand therfore can't remember any of the scorers or owt. Happy days though.
