  1. Ivan Toney the most complete striker in the world Completely ignoring the fact that Paqueta is "struggling" under Moyes for the exact same reason Almiron and many others looked ineffective with us for so long.
  2. I don't think it's such a straightforward question in practice, even putting to the side the fact that separation between the two was scrutinised at length as part of the takeover process. Both the distance between PIF and the Saudi state (lesser) and the distance between NUFC and the Saudi state (greater) are significantly underestimated by those looking to protest imo, it's a kind of category error. Like Ronaldo said, the appropriate channels are political ones.
  3. Depends on if you feel it's reasonable to level claims of human rights abuses at the door of our owners specifically rather than the Saudi state itself. The framing of that statement on his part is deliberately provocative and misleading in that respect, I would say.

    Joelinton

Class today, think he does a great job of locking down that left hand side when playing out wide while still contributing to the attacking build-up and moving the team up the pitch in possession.

    Joe Willock

Fantastic again today. His intelligence on the ball and physicality have both gone up a level in recent weeks it's really allowing him to impact games in a much more consistent way. Deserved starter right now and feel there is much more to come, too.
  6. I don't think we've seen enough of him to really know exactly where he's at in his development, tbh. Certainly not going to rush to judgement off the back of a cup game where pretty much the whole team was underwhelming going forward.

    England

Once Phillips is up to full fitness. Think Maddison could be utilised well cutting in from the right, not that Southgate would dare to play such an attacking lineup. Pickford is a level below Pope, not sure why anyone on this forum would choose him even if Southgate almost certainly will.
  9. Very premature to be writing him off considering the form and fluency he was showing before injury. Rest of the season after the World Cup break will be really important for him though, as we may look to strengthen out wide in the summer regardless. See no reason to think he should be sold in the immediate future though.
  10. So cringe, both the original video and the apology. Doesn't take a great deal of difficulty to see Tate for what he is, but TG has a lot of people fooled. Or they just don't really want to look beneath the surface a little.

    Joelinton

Never saw any real indication to suggest he was likely to be called up, tbh. But no reason to think he can't be in the reckoning for future squads if he is able to continue to progress his game in what is still essentially a relatively new role for him.

My MOTM today too. Great energy, movement and use of the ball throughout and definitely the most proactive and physical performance from him I've seen this season too. Really excited to watch him continue to develop

  15. That's the distinction, like. If they are agitating to remove PIF they can expect to face some hostilities in turn from some quarters, whatever their motives. Personally, I think the practical separation between the political and social formation of SA (with all of it's cultural complexities, contradictions and directions of travel for the future) and NUFC on a matchday is so huge it's hard to see what such a protest is really hoping or expecting to achieve.

Like the idea. A few amendments for me : Karius is a total unknown in many ways , wouldn't even want to categorize Krath has shown himself to be a capable back up under Howe at RB, however I would be looking to upgrade if possible. Manquillo is at the very least okay, maybe Lewis can still prove to be too. In any case, labelling him an outright liability also feels too harsh for me, we haven't seen enough to judge in recent times. There's no chance that Almiron is deserving of anything other than a starting berth right now - whether that leaves Isak on the bench for the time being or not Joelinton for me isn't a guaranteed name on the teamsheet for every game - potentially one to be rotated based on tactical considerations, especially in games we're going to dominate possession. The CM situation is a really interesting one, all of them offer something different and yet most will agree it's an area we should be looking to strengthen in the next 12 months.
  17. Has to be Bruno, I think. Almiron, Schar and Trippier not far behind for me. Have a lot of love for them all though, really sums up the mood around the club at the moment when you're energised by Jacob Murphy's contributions yesterday or keen to see how Shelvey slots in after being subbed on
  18. And in light of that the protest makes more sense, because all it will accomplish is returning the media spotlight to PIF ownership of NUFC.
