Sven Botman: Out for up to 8 weeks after minor Knee operation (Howe)
Barnes23 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Comes across as a charlatan to me, same as that Sanjay fella. Superficial stats and player analytics devoid of any real feeling for context. -
8 for me, chiefly because there is a lot to love about the quality of our signings this summer as well as our approach to recruitment overall. It all bodes really well for the future. Do think we were 1 further marquee signing away from the window being a phenomenal one, mind, but very hard to assess without a complete insight into all of the financial factors especially that will set the parameters of how quickly we're able to progress in the market.

Love owt like this, me. Kone would be an exceptional signing.
-
Happy to see him get some recognition, he's always been underappreciated imo Do find it a bit of a mystery how little we've seen of him in the last season or so, the game against Norwich last season sticks out especially. My enduring memory of him will probably be marshalling the defence and being an absolute brick wall following Clark's fuckup which brought us down to 10.

It probably is True Faith IMO, but very much the best of a bad bunch rather than something I would recommend particularly highly.
-
People love to engage in wishful thinking and rationalisation rather than face up to the possibility that we've potentially missed out on an amazing player. Same story with those insisting we've never had any interest despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.

I'm going to be one of those people, apologies in advance everyone

It's going to sting for a while, that one.

There's plenty of positives to take - our spiritedness and organisation as a team and domination of possession being foremost among them. Wolves away isn't an easy fixture and overall we were good value for a point. For me the main disappointment was the lack of real intelligent build-up play in the final third - too often our attacking moments were rushed, with shots being attempted from distance rather than attempting to work an opening, or balls launched into the box in a pretty haphazard "playing the percentages" kind of way. Not sure if it was partly tactical, a consequence of the opposition or the absence of Bruno (a combination of all three, most likely) but it felt like a bit of a regression from what we've shown ourselves to be capable of as a team. Nothing alarming, though - excited for the rest of the transfer window and to see how the team progresses throughout the campaign, we're well on track.

Made some great runs in the second half especially, one of very few players offering any real incision or intelligence in terms of build-up in the final third today.

Sickener if he goes there, no two ways about it.

Now that's a transfer rumour
-
They reported on our alleged interest just as the guy was sitting down to sign his new deal, clearly have their fingers on the pulse and presenting the information about a potential new deal (which has been out there for a while) is a great way to hedge your bets and mix truth with bullshit.
-
Football insider on the money as per usual, pretty much worthless as a source.
-
Don't get any less tired of hearing about PL experience like, whatever the (supposed) source.
-
Shouldn't be for sale, even if we sign an upgrade at RW you aren't going to find a better stand-in or player to come off the bench. Would weaken a squad already very much lacking in depth. Feel like there is much more to come from him, too.
-
He doesn't, like. But the key difference is probably that Burn's mistakes seem to be more severe i.e. directly responsible for goals conceded, probably because they seem to be the result of a complete lapse in concentration.

Thought the same, looked like an error by Burn in losing his man above all else. -
Nah, not having that at all. Obertan had pace that he couldn't utilise effectively and nothing else whatsoever. Cabella showed moments of quality in a setup he was completed unsuited for (the kick and rush of tactical geniuses Pardew and Carver).
