  1. Has to be signed, has to be given the number 23. Might even displace Sylvain Marveaux from my avatar if it happens.
  2. It's clear there has been some degree of interest in him previously - to what extent there still is none of us know.
  3. I think the real point is that it's ridiculous to consider two years of Steve Bruce as any kind of context to make a judgement about his ability. Emil Krafth and Joelinton have demonstrated that definitively, and yet Miggy has not been given the same clean slate by a lot of people. There has always been plenty of evidence he has valuable qualities as a footballer and something significant to offer the team, and I'm delighted he has a platform to show them again now.
  4. He's only doing that as a roundabout way of aggrandising himself.
  5. He doesn't need to big himself up or anything, literally just needs to say "I play for Brentford, in the premier league". Probably doesn't think the guy interviewing him will have heard of anyone outside of Barcelona, Man U etc and this is his way of pre-empting that in a way that saves face for him, transferring the fact that the guy doesn't know who he is onto the fact that he plays "nowhere exciting" Kind of ridiculous to me to think downplaying the team you represent in that way is anything close to being humble
  6. "Nowhere exciting" - Aye, exactly what Brentford fans would be wanting to hear when one of their players is asked which club they play for.
  7. Athletico Madrid also looking at Sekou Mara by the looks of things - hope this one doesn't play out like the Ekitike saga.

  9. Agree with PlymouthGeordie tbh. Harrison is a good player, but he wouldn't be a transformative signing. Bruno, Trippier and Botman are the real benchmark - the hope has to be that we are targeting this level of player to the greatest possible extent to be able to fulfil both their ambitions and the clubs in as short a time span as is possible. They haven't signed to target a place in the Europa league in a couple of years. That said, the limitations around what we're able to do at the moment are real and need to be navigated intelligently. On the most basic analysis, Harrison would improve us. Personally would be most happy if we signed Paqueta and then used the loan market to strengthen elsewhere (forward/right-wing) if need be.
  10. Might prefer him to Isak, tbh.
  11. Would rather sign Paqueta, someone like Broja on loan as Wilson's understudy and leave the winger until January (assuming we need to operate within these kind of constraints).
  12. Didn't he do poorly last season?
  13. No particular reason to assume we are happy to let him go? Not that I've seen anyway.
  14. Not sure I'd be wanting him if I was a championship club honestly, not if I'd spent any length of time watching him at NUFC the last couple of seasons.
  15. Can't think of too many sides outside of the top 6 or 7 teams with a better starting goalkeeper than Dubravka, to be honest. At least a top 10 level goalkeeper I would say, and his form in the second half of last season would certainly back that up.
  16. Kind of defeats the object of signing Pope if it's just going to be Darlow coming in if he's out.
  17. He has some useful attributes but he's certainly nothing special from what I've seen.
  18. For me, probably Ekitike or equivalent level as the forward signing (with the deal structured to suit FFP), a quality RW, Paqueta and an up and coming CM prospect (Luka Sucic) would be the ideal world.
  19. That's very far from an ideal world
