  1. Was the best partnership we was last season imo. Neesy?
  2. great read http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/28/mirandinha-england-newcastle-united-brazil-world-cup?CMP=twt_gu
  3. IMHO Ashely is a bit thick, and pardew has managed to bullshit him that our woes lie in the fact he's not getting "his" players and he's convinced him if he's allowed to do this he'll keep us up on the cheap. A guess obvs I think that's exactly it. One of Pardew's biggest talents (possible his only talent) is to manipulate people into thinking he is doing a good job. Since Lambezze and Kinnear have gone he will have been bending Ashley's ear that everything that has gone wrong has been Lambezze/Kinnear/the players fault and that for him to fix things, he will need more of a say in who we sign.
  4. Problem is that the new manager will inherit all that s*** though. but at least Pardew will be gone...
  5. It's quite ironic that him getting his way with transfers could finally lead to him being sacked. If we sign all the cloggers he wants, who will be left bail him out like Remy and Cabaye did this past season? When we are bottom of the table come October with a team full of utter dross, Ashley will have no choice but to bin the fucking cunt.
  6. so according to that article we spent £17M in January 2013... haven't club sources since claimed it to have been £35M?
  7. good read that Mainz really are a great example of how a football club with limited resources should be ran.
  8. just seen that the Guardian have a feature on each Premier League club's transfer plans for the summer
  9. its not often that I find myself agreeing with that prick Scudamore http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27340856 I'm glad he has spoken out against it though, he does have a lot of influence at the top end of the game.
  10. i mean yeah it does seem to become harder and harder for smaller club to compete with the super clubs. but Dortmund are a good example of how it can be done. they've lost arguably their best player for each of the last three seasons but that's not stopped them from competing competing nationally and in Europe.
  11. Got a point tbf though. How is anyone going to ever break the established clubs up long term? Take away clubs like Man City & PSG and it's the same establishment every f***ing year. Take away clubs like Man City & PSG and it's the same establishment every f***ing year. but there are other ways of being successful...i.e. Dortmund, Atletico

    Sunderland

even they managed to win at Old Trafford (twice!) thereby beating our biggest achievement this season We lost 2-1 at Old Trafford in the cup tbf true. sorry my mistake. but I guess you can still count it as a "win" of sorts...

  14. king kunty has run into money problems again so they need to help him out
  15. some qualilty defending today from the "best defender in the league"
  16. Good think about our run-in is that man city and everton will very likely have nothing to play for by the time we face them.

    Players in public

My mate who works in the nike shopping outlet near York says Jonas was in there yesterday. Though it was bollocks but my mate got a pic with him. Strange place to go shopping really if you have the metro cenrte on your doorstep.
  18. just got back from the match, still buzzing. all in all it was a top class performance, achieved without some key players. i stii find it staggering how well we've done this season.
  19. Why go then? hindsight is a great thing. was my first time in the home End at Elland Road so I had no idea it was going to be that bad. Agh, fair enough. Hate the place, should burn it to the ground with their thugs in it. couldn't agree more. glad we hardly ever play them these days

  21. I was at the Leeds match today. Was sat in the home end and all I heard was cunt this cunt that. Plus some racist remark aimed at Giles Barnes. Despicable city, descicable club & despicable fans. Glad that Clark wont be going there.
  22. once again the powers that be are taking a massive gamble by not singing a centre half. We knew in december that steven taylor would be out for the rest of the season. We then saw what happens if we have to rely on perch and danny simpson at centre back. And despite all we do is make a half-arsed attempt to sign someone. With the singing of Cisse and the fact we've not lost any of our stars, this transfer window has been better than I ever expected but the failure to bring in a centre-half has still really pissed me off.

    Feeder teams

It's a disgusting idea. Again it would be just anothr way of benefiting a select few clubs whilst pissing all over the majority of footbal clubs in this country. There are many problems that this would bring and one which I dont think has been mentioned yet is attendances. B-teams would probably only get a few 100 fans whilst the away support would be zero. What does that do to the crediblity of the league? Thankfully I can never see it happening. Whilst the tossers at the FA might be in favour, the Fotball League has nothing to gain from this and would surelý veto it. And how would it be handled? Would the FL say to say Blackpool Watford and Barnsley, sorry you are relegated, Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool are taking your place.
  24. the terrace and the windmill both usually have the newastle game on. bloody hell that brings a memory or two back. i don't suppose the mad miserable french woman is still the landlady ? I watch footy in there quite a bit but I've never come across a mad miserable French Lady Might keep an eye out for her next time i'm in ask, from a while back mind. about 20yrs. (this is the windmill basically between micklegate and the cinema ?) yeah that's the one, still there and still called the windmill. i wil have to make some inquiries next time I'm in. Some of the locals in there look they've been going there for 30 years plus so they will know her cheers, let me know. it was often our meet up place when on the way back from games down south. the maltings now on the rare occasions we get away. will do, I'm intrigued now. yeah maltings is a quality pub, convenient for the station too.
