  1. Well he's pretty committed to it, two full seasons or more?!
  2. Well tonight again he's playing like he could easily be rotated with big joe for a season then take the role for himself. Even got his wrist strapped up (has anyone ever explained why JL7 has had a bandage for so long?)
  3. This is hardly news but any defender given Osula to mark will know he's been in a game afterwards. He's done nowt much with the ball so far but he's dumped his man on the deck again and again
  4. Tuchel has said he wants certain players, Tino included, to attack the under 21 tournament. Might be taken as softening the blow but at face value it's a compliment and a challenge to that group a year ahead of the world cup. Gordon (and Gibbs-White, amongst others) came on loads after a positive age-group tournament in 2023. Never looked back even. Tino has time on his side
  5. I'm as scarred by derbies as everyone else after the most recent ones, but I'd still love them to pay us a visit in the big league for a season or two. It would be back to the way it was for the majority of my lifetime, we'd beat them more often than not. And they couldn't keep their heads in the sand and concentrate on the football league, the reality of their station would be in their faces week after week, as every team in the prem brought international stars to their ground and wiped the floor with them
  6. SR6 covers a variety of neighbourhoods, and includes the terraced cottages of Roker right along to the mansions of Cleadon. Its got areas many of you would like to live in and areas some of you might prefer not to live in. Right Move currently has listings from 67K to over 3 million in this post code area. I live near the middle (in both senses, house is valued at almost exactly national average). I'm 5 mins from the beach and a few pubs and restaurants, good distance to walk to when we fancy or avoid if its busy. I've been here 20 years, seen a few changes, and think Sunderland (the city) finally seeing a bit of investment as a genuinely positive thing which rightly gives some locals a little bit of pride and optimism - if thats possible in this weird moment nationally/globally (in my point of view). Of course there is a tendency for some people here to feel the need to compare everything to Newcastle and this is achingly boring, but it's not everyone. Empty vessels and all that. Their football team is a clown car crashing in slow motion, and they are our nearest rivals so that's to be enjoyed, but the other stuff is nowt to me. I've lived in Newcastle too and worked alongside enough from both sides to know there are more things in common than differences between us all
  7. Look at the options Villa currently have. It should become 'normal' for us to have a Barnes or Gordon waiting to come on, as alien as that sounds

    Jacob Murphy

Well spotted - exactly confirmed in his interview tonight 👏
  9. So, ASM aside, what made Saudi bid so much for Fabinho, as an example? They put a lot of money into Livpoo and Chelsea for players who quite probably weren’t in demand at the price they paid. Was it just a naive splurge, or is it somehow in their interest to gain favour with some ‘big’ clubs who were quite desperate for funds? I’m not suggesting a specific answer by the way, but they are possibly seeking influence with clubs who may be involved in shaping the next big change in European football. Or not.
  10. The delay isn’t coming from the league this time as far as I can see? 777 had asked for an extension on repaying the loans which were due yesterday until late May, which sounds a bit like they want to know which division the club will be in before completing.
  11. Northumbria Police restrict them to 3.5k in the upper tier. Hell on
  12. Imagine it. 2025/26 season, Newcastle are playing home games at Sunderland while their own ground is redeveloped. Newcastle are then drawn to play at home against Sunderland in the FA cup...
  13. SBR added Bellamy and Robert to a side that had national captains of England, Wales, Eire, NI, Greece and Peru. Full of character and heart, just needed finesse. Dalglish signed almost all of them so however bad his time was, some credit for the players brought in is due. Some.
  14. Looks like Liverpool away a week before, then a clear midweek either side, so the straws I was clutching are all gone
  15. Don’t suppose it’s being played between champs league games and city away to Liverpool or owt?
  16. https://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2015/12/06/england/premier-league/newcastle-united-football-club/liverpool-fc/2043207/ Thats our our only win in his time, before he had put his own stamp on the team. We owe him for all the other results over the years, only chance would be the cup now...
  17. Would we fancy a cup final vs Liverpool in Klopp’s last ever match with them? The build up and coverage would be unbearable, but imagine a win!
  18. I would love hearing Paul Daniels do Phil Daniels part in Park Life! You’ll like this...not a lot!
  19. https://www.insideworldsoccer.com/2011/02/nicklas-bendtner-scores-10-out-of-9-in.html ‘Recently, Arsenal use psychological tests to determine their players' mental abilities in relation to their footballing qualities and Bendtner is certainly not lacking in one area. Psychologist Jacques Crevoisier, interviewed by Swedish magazine Offside, said: "One of the categories is called 'self perceived competence,' i.e. how good the player himself thinks he is. On a scale up to 9, Bendtner got 10! "We have never seen that before. (Assistant manager) Pat Rice was sitting next to me and couldn't stop laughing.‘
  20. And the fifth goal, Shola with an assist for Nolan’s hat trick goal - big Sho fucks off in the other direction to take the crowds applause while the whole team jump on Nolan. Brilliant. Mental. Glad this video was posted, needed something like it. Now fast forward to kick off ffs
  21. Part of me wasn’t looking forward to Trippier vs Clarke given current form. Livramento might be a better bet to stop their most dangerous player?
  22. Chris Holland looked a great prospect in his few first team appearances before some bastard through ammonia (?) in his face. Struck a ball very much like Gazza did, remember one or two 100mph looping crosses from the right. Poor kid could have been sending them in for Sir Les and Big Al a year or two later
  23. Hoping we have a 4th round tie between the city and villa games mind
  24. Didn’t someone end up getting a tiny pair of scissors from a first aid bag, when the comedy bolt cutters proved useless?
  25. Andy Hinchcliffe played almost 400 games as a professional footballer, including gaining 7 caps for England. Don Goodman made nearer to 600 appearances domestically, though was not lucky enough to receive an international call up. These two must disprove something about what playing experience counts for when it comes to making a good football commentator, as they are both bloody awful at it.
