Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 4/1/26 @ 15:00 (Sky Sports)

He played again today. Centre half according to the line up I saw. Can't imagine he suits that position but I'd also be happy to see him come in and help out so Hall wasn't being played from the start twice a week -
Another. Better by the game at the minute

I'm full of shit, it was a minute or two before the goal that he was caught too far up and too far inside which allowed a cross. Keeper saved that one. -

Yeah he was in the centre circle when the ball went into his area for the cross, but given he looked like he had instructions to join midfield when we had the ball it's forgivable Best part of it was that he didn't get caught again -

He did get sucked into the middle to allow the space for the cross but that's maybe harsh when no-one else had covered the run he went after inside. First impression was a little bit naive (it happened twice early on) but from then on he did much better -

He should have been trying this all the time after that example showed what he could do. Easy to say now but it did play on my mind in games for us after that. Often eased by him scoring goals I should add, but the idea he could do that and somehow chose not to, or didn't get angry enough or who knows why, I never understood. Makes it look like a fluke now after so long

He's got over a hundred assists for them man! Not knocking Murphy but there is no comparison Murphy has proved himself a decent Premier league level player capable of contributing in a team pushing to catch the best. Salah has been a fucking legend over the last decade (feels dirty saying it but howay)

Good resource, but shitty visualisation. The CF looks half way between LW and RW but the numbers tell a different story Howay the Wiss, season starts here

Think the crowd swayed the ref for the penalty today. There were a few decisions that they didn't like in the minutes before it, then when their man went down in the box the volume was deafening. Ref had started to turn to follow play, then turned back and gave a pen. VAR spent a few minutes on it then went with the ref. If he didn't give it I don't think they would have overturned it. Changed the mood of the game, was looking like a rout until then

They did. But in a thuggish negative bullying way that has a place and also a ceiling. It's Bolton, Stoke, whoever. And when those teams beat the odds it was up to the footballing teams to find a way to win. Anyone who laughed at Slot recently saying teams were playing it long against them, this is the same. Beat them with the ball, or don't expect to beat them!

A little bit like our match against Arsenal so far. A second goal wouldn't come for the home team that night, hope it plays out the same here

Up to them. But the bit about normalising relations with a former player etc suggests people taking themselves way too seriously. I'm personally very committed to finding behaviour like that ridiculous and I will build my entire sense of self around it for ever and ever

Actually I was thinking of the other Milan poster. Always enjoyed his insights.

This is like a kindly uncle who you only ever saw at weddings or Christmas and always enjoyed seeing and left with warm memories of. Then one time he turns it all upside down by mentioning his support for Farage or flat earth or something. Fucking ultra my arse. Grown men!
