Remove the clichéd conjecture from this thread and there'd be 8 pages left.

I'm still waiting for Santon's alleged injury and confidence problems to surface.
-
I was massively downbeat walking to the ground on Wednesday thinking about this Didn't fully realize how much I liked him until he was gone. Hope he scores loads, starting tomorrow.
-
Apart from that 1 goal in the cup, his shooting is as bad as I've ever seen There's no power at all in those little legs.
-
Possibly, but I just can't see Lithe Mike being so on the fence when he's planning on spending money. Writing off January signings in June would literally kill him. Having said all this I don't even think Pardew has much say in transfers anyway and the next manager would have similar control levels so maybe it wouldn't be too much upheaval.
-
The fact that he's still in charge now and we're giving "him" money to spend surely means he's here for the long haul

Where's Interpolic?
-
So they've learned from not getting extra players in to cope with more games? This is a relegation joke.

The love for him in the stands after his goal was fantastic. Felt like a weight was being lifted from everyone's shoulders.
-
He hasn't slagged any of our players off for f***'s sake. Aye. Just seemed like the Santon effort was the first half, half chance that popped into his head at the time.

A player who's spent his ENTIRE career in the middle can't adapt quickly enough to being played in the middle?

Newcastle United 1 - 2 Everton - 02/01/13 - post-match reaction from page 53
Jack Flash replied to Dave's topic in Football
If Cisse has been in the middle he'd have scored the chance central striker Shola put wide just before they made it 2-1. Taking Obertan off was a horrible decision too and sums that spineless chancer up perfectly. Going down. -
That is the current situation though It's pointless looking to the future when it's massively uncertain for a number of reasons. His current situation is the same as any other starting striker in world football, though. If he doesn't score the team will fail. I'm pretty certain he's a good enough player to not find himself permanently stuck in horrendous form. The key difference is other teams have a few players who can score. We currently only have Cisse who can regularly score and after that it's Ben Arfa who is out for another month. xx

He's certainly being thrown in at the deep end. "Score loads or we're going down" is his current situation.

I've got far too much money going on Obertan goal related bets 18/1 F/G, 66/1 to score 2 etc. obatn pls

There's something almost surreal about such a great player and consistent goalscorer's exit being met by many fans with a mixture of relief and excitement. I just hope for everyone's sake Cisse has a very good game tonight.

the only post from the last twenty pages or so that has actually made me laugh. It's reply #3 on page 1
-
He has been alright but he really shouldn't be starting PL games. I'm resigned to him being the best option due to our lack of squad depth.

Very worrying seeing Obertan in so many teams
