A 3 year contract and they don't think he'll be ready from the off? Setting themselves up to be stung if he turns out to be any good.
-
2019 says .com. He definitely signed a very long contract.

Where is this? http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,93588.5950.html Jack Flash's 2nd best post ever. Controversial choice.

The only strikers they have are Carroll, Cole and Vaz Te. Blood from a stone.

I'm doing something which requires me to knock up a few pages of lesser known quotes from, and about, Keegan. I've posted a couple of these recently but here's a few more... It doesn't make much of a difference. Cabaye was available for most of last season and that didn't stop us almost getting relegated, for example. Quite a few other good players being consistently wasted too but it's old ground
-
While Pardew is majorly shit, something has been ignored among all this. Which is despite how shit he is he has shown he can win games when good players are available to him. I'd much rather have good players in the team to carry his arse, than have majorly shit players and look forward to relegation. It's being ignored because being able to win games with good players available should be the absolute minimum from a manager, especially in the top leagues. It's also not true of Pardew, who has had a good squad available to him but still does badly enough to warrant sacking 2 years in a row.

We are fucked aren't we? We either take games on the Morrison's of this world and we've seen historically that these don't tend to work out for us. Or we lower our standards and look at more workmanlike options which will lead to us being dull and placid. I'm still looking for those silver linings. Indeed. I understand why some/most would want to avoid Morrison, though I can't remember him being in any trouble for a few years now. He has a lot going for him if we were to gamble on him. He's exciting, creative, young and can score goals. He's also cheap and we've been in for him before under Pardew.
-
That Klaassen looks very handy. If people are turning their noses up at Morrison due to his past behaviour then Arnautovic cannot possibly be an option either.

Ravel and Hatem running riot both on and off the pitch next season please.

There's loads of quotes like that in the autobiographies of the entertainers lot. A few from Ferdinand...

Those constant pitch side close up shots of fans are excruciating. Definitely a directive from some cunt in a boardroom who's never been to a game to"bring the viewers closer to the action" or something.

Explains a lot tbh.

Been watching a few Gazza documentaries recently ("Gazza - The Real Me (1990)" is a "new" one btw) and HBA really is the modern Gazza. The childlike enthusiasm to drive the team forward at all times being the most obvious similarity.

Lovren at Liverpool would be a match made in heaven.
-
He'd be fine on loan as a backup. He got 6 goals last year while our second highest scorer (Gouffran) got 7.

With a lot of people at their all time low with this club, it's time to remind ourselves why we bother. There's a desperate need for some positivity now more than ever so keep filling this thread with pictures, quotes, memories and stories about why you love this club. If we can't trust him, who can we trust?
-
I want him to stay in England so I can watch him every week. The Pardew stuff would be a bonus.
-
Southampton were in League 1 when they sacked him in 2010. 4 years later they've finished above us 2 years in a row and he constantly tells us we can't compete with them.

“I don’t think anyone can really moan about our first half of the season, apart from our defeat at Cardiff,” said Pardew. “Since then, there have been plenty of reasons to moan, and we’ve got to be better than that.” We won at Cardiff. Unless he's on about the FA Cup but then why does it say "at Cardiff" and why is he saying "first half of the season" when that was a cup game in January. Strange. I also like "I don't think anyone can really moan", so dismissive and arrogant when the football he serves up is - on the whole - absolutely fucking wank. Please upload your presentation. Now is the time.
