  1. Like some sort of Hogwarts/ Uni graduation/Ann Summers number. Weird as fuck.
  2. He somehow gave the impression that he is actively trying to avoid contact with the ball on every penalty.
  3. MacAllister was outrageously good. On a pitch littered with talent and a few superstars. He arguably stood out the most. Special shoutout to De Paul. He really is a dog of war. Doesn’t seem to have much ability. But just grafts his bollocks off. Not trying to play down their achievement or how good Scaloni has been in the knockouts with his tactics. But it is arguably the workrate from the Argies, with moments of brilliance. Is what won them the tournament. Their energy levels were outstanding.
  4. I always find it funny when people get upset about certain pundits get moved on from Soccer Saturday. This is the level of expertise we are dealing with
  5. Don’t think Isak is even back in full training after nearly 3 months out. Hopefully he’s just being coy on Wilson. Maybe he’ll miss the game on Tuesday or start on the bench. Then back in for the next 2-3 league games.
  6. Can’t see it at all. Almiron is good at give and go’s. Him cutting in creates space on the overlap for Trippier. He makes runs in behind and is arguably the hardest working attacking player in the league. ASM is basically the opposite to all of that Wants a lot of touches. Would naturally be a bit wider on his right foot. Often wants it to feet and can be static off the ball and he wouldn’t offer defensive cover to Trippier. Who plays most the game high up the pitch.
  7. I’m not watching. But when he said we won’t be ready for what’s to come, or something like that. Was this what he meant?
  8. That’s what one of the journos said on Twitter.
  9. Polar opposite for me. Mbappe seems like an absolute nobhead, Griezmann is a typical Atleti player who was a snide fuck against us and they’re boring as fuck to watch. Despite being blessed with arguably the best and deepest squad in world football. Hope they lose 5-0. Although they’ll probably get an early goal. Sit off, whilst controlling the game and then get a late second to seal it.
  10. I can admire him for his workrate and ability. Whilst also thinking he is an absolute bellend and not liking all the off field stuff with him.
  11. People hate to admit how much elite sport comes down to luck and variance. We need a scapegoat like Kane. Or to blame Southgate for somehow being out-coached. Whilst simultaneously also being in charge of the better team on the night. But then not really looking at the incidents that come down to about six inches (Al Pacino - Any Given Sunday). It is what it is. I like this England team and I think we played well. Unlike the Croatia and Italy defeats.
  12. Kane has to just play on Upanddownmechano this half. He is rash as fuck.
  13. Pickford should save that, no? Or am I being massively harsh? Always feel like long shots are his weakness.
  14. Thought Fernandes should have been booked. Fair play to Bono for not rolling about to get him carded.
  15. Yeah, in isolation that looks horrendous and South American teams are genuinely unmatched when it comes to shithousing. But I noticed some sort of aggro after a few of the Dutch pens. Seemed like they were always going for mind games on the way back to the middle. But constantly over-stepping.
  16. Agree with this. I’m glad they’re out, TBH. Croatia bore me to tears. But Brazil’s tactics were odd, as was Tite’s use of Bruno. So fuck them. The media over here have been really weird about Brazil and all. Constantly fawning over them like this team could be on a par to some of the great Brazil teams of the past. It’s a bit smart after the event. But I never saw it myself. Always funny when a team loses on pens and their best taker goes fifth, then never even takes one.
  17. I am fucking woeful at this. Had about 5 goes and never got more than 2
  18. Saw Mark Crossley and Bruce Grobelaar at a sporting dinner last night. Crossley was actually really funny and had some great Clough stories. Grobelaar was on for an eternity and whilst he had some good stories and was funny at times. He was a bit dull in comparison. Which is odd, seeing as he’s mad as a box of frogs.
  19. Fraser, weren’t it? Commentator got confused and a bit excited.
  20. After growing up around a fair few Americans, due to living close to a couple of big US airbases. From spending time over in America and playing American Football with Yanks over the years. That is an outlandish comment from that big egg. Most of them run up to the ball and kick at it and dribble like Jack from Tekken doing the cossack dance.

    Gonçalo Ramos

Was 80 including all the add ons and performance related targets to hit. Still sounds like a lot, in hindsight. But he did look quality for Benfica in Europe.

What was the rumoured bid, £30-40m? Would be double or treble that based on this.
  23. Been ill recently, I think they said? Certainly looked miles off it.
