I’m sure plenty of fans are saying the same. International football is often really dull and slow. Massive mis-matches, players cobbled together for a few breaks per season to play a different style than what they are used to. A lot at stake in tournament matches or in qualifying, that make teams cautious. It does seem amplified in this WC. Which I can only guess is due to it being mid-season and possibly the heat? Enjoying it to a point. But I’d have club football back tomorrow if I could.

Got it on now and he comes across really well. Agree with this up to a point. But he's on a podcast with shouty, beardy, sweary man. I don't see the language as an issue at all, he's not doing live work on Sky Sports. It's perfectly fine in that environment. As for his opinions on stuff. He doesn't have to play the manager/politician type straight bat with his answers. Because he isn't a manager yet. He just seems incredibly candid and open on this and maybe the whole liver thing has made him lean that way even more. Despite all of what I have just typed out. I'm also not sure he is the type to be a manager. Not sure why, maybe it's just my pre-conceived idea of him from when he was a player and also a bit of a twat.

Hope he sticks with a back 4 and not the awful 5-2-3. Not checked it out and I suppose it could be down to the teams we play when we use a back 5. But I heard our record when we go with a back 4 under Southgate is much better.

I might be imaging this. But I’m sure he has spoke about them before and said he gets nervous taking them. He often tries to blast them like that and it’s usually at a good height for the keeper.
