  1. So the Palace game will get moved now. Any Chance they will just push it into the middle of the following week and we play it before Spurs away? Or is that too sensible for the Premier League?
  2. He’s always good value. Unstoppable shot, bar and in…. Birtles: “I’m sorry but the keeper has to be doing better than that.” Winger chops inside and tries to take his man on again….. Birtles: “GET THE BALL IN THE BOX.”
  3. This based on his instagram post? Hope you're right!

What the fuck is up with his voice?! The missus' family are all from sunderland. So I can appreciate there are differences between the accents. But he sounds like he is putting on a fake voice so he won't get rumbled. Ends up sounding almost Indian at one point. Weird cunt.
  5. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/eddie-howe-issues-allan-saint-maximin-injury-update-3588015 Some quotes in there. Sounds like there is a decent chance of him playing against Brighton.
  6. JUST PUT IT IN THE NET! His noises and reactions to incidents in games are superb.
  7. MOTD were ok by their brief standards. The 3 min Sky Sports highlights were even worse than usual. Showed 3 shots for us, 2 of which were the goals. The Norgaard shot for them and the red. That was it! Spent about a minute on Eriksen and looking at the red and not actual highlights.
  8. Had so much space because of the red. But from kick off. He did look good there. Floats in a lovely cross on his left peg.
  9. I don’t think he has meant to go in and do Targett. But it is a blatant red. If you go in like that that high up the leg. It’s reckless and just asking to be sent off. Especially with VAR.
  10. I think I agree with this. Burnley will be the turd that won’t flush yet again. Hit a bit of form and they have the easiest looking run in of the teams down the bottom. We need to keep momentum and the gap over the next 4-5 games. Some tough ones in there and all. Edit. Not the 4/10 for going down. Just that I’m still a bit concerned that the gap isn’t exactly massive.
  11. Shelvey still does that too often for my liking. Although in his defence. He quite often then plays it and moves forward into the space, at least. Still feels totally unnecessary at times. Now that we have competent footballers at centre back.
  12. The passing back and forward between Schar and Burn was almost comical against West Ham. But they still persisted with it today, even when pressured. Such a basic thing and probably not even noticeable to most fans of functioning teams. But it makes a massive difference having two centre backs happy on the ball and confident when knocking it about.

    Joe Willock

It was like prime Sadio Mane. Should be scoring that of course. But he certainly made sure the keeper wasn’t getting it!
  14. Going to this one. Been ages since I’ve got to a home game. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster. They’re still a good team. But even if it isn’t the case. It feels like they always drop off a bit when it seems like they’re guaranteed safety. Hopefully Webster is still out. As I don’t think he played today.

    Joe Willock

That finish, man. Emphatic as fuck.
  16. Certainly noticed him actively changing the shape and formation the last few games. Which is positive. As I’m sure Bournemouth fans said one of his flaws is not being able to adapt mid-game?
  17. Loved how positive he was. Always looking to get on the ball and seeing if a forward pass was on. He didn’t mind receiving a pass under pressure or making one to a teammate who had a marker. Just that and also the fact he passed and moved and was busy, is an extra dimension to this midfield. No passing it and then admiring it and loafing off. As good as the 3 have been. Shelvey does things in slow motion. He actually looked better when Bruno came on next to him. Joelinton isn’t one to get on the ball loads in the middle, just better at winning it back. Seems more comfortable in wider areas for some reason. Willock is a runner and a bloody good one at that. Just not great with his passing (as in how many he makes, not accuracy) and not regularly showing for the ball. Hard to judge against ten. But I really liked what I saw. Not sure how he fits in the starting XI. But he should be starting IMO.
  18. Been sticking up for him a bit. He does keep the defence unsettled, he presses well from the front and he’s a good focal point. Getting a bit better at holding it up. But he really is quite bad at football. Never seems to time his headers at goal properly. Bruno played a through ball and a nice pass round the corner to him. He seemed really slow to react both times. When he went through and I think we were 3 on 2. He chopped back, held the ball for too long so that his chance of two easy passes went and then he didn’t even work room for a shot himself. Then punted it straight to the opposition
  19. T-1000linton showing Wood how to meet a cross. Beast of a header. Fraser has been really good on the left. Albeit with a lot of time on the ball due to the red card.
  20. Too slow on the ball again. Second to every loose ball and all. Hopefully just gradually wind up the pressure and knacker them out.
  21. I can’t say I thought much to Howe’s comments about his fitness at West Ham. But plenty did. Do you think there is something a bit more to this? He’s definitely a loveable rogue and seems a bit high maintenance. He loved Bruce as he gave him a free pass. Targett said he gets fined all the while. Has previous for buggering off back to France for a bit mid-season. Not stirring or saying I even care. As I think he is good enough to get special treatment and have his ego massaged a bit. Just genuinely curious.
  22. I'm the other way. I don't think he will play at all, whereas I reckon Manquillo will start. He has seemed quite crafty with his press conferences. Seems to be polite and generous with his answers. But at the same time, doesn't give too much away.
  23. We certainly have. But not sure I would want to use that as a yardstick. When you consider how bad a lot of our players have been during Ashley's time here!
  24. I like Murphy more than most, it seems. I was wanting him to start over Fraser a while back! So I wouldn't be upset if he started. He is just still so frustrating with his decision making and slapdash attempts at passing. It is always the sublime to ridiculous with him, usually in the same move. He is just wildly inconsistent. Although in his defence, he has never had a long run in the team.
  25. Reads like he'll be starting and/or getting decent minutes when we have the 4 games in 12 days next month. Possibly even 5 in 15 days, depending on the Palace game.
