  1. Fucking hell Shane Long has got two in two. He's looked pretty impressive yes, but let's wait until the end of the season before we start crying that we didn't sign him. Amir Zaki scored a ridiculous amount of goals in his first 10 or so games in this league. Looked real quality as well, I'm not even sure where he plays his football these days
  2. There is a scheduled press conference this afternoon, or you are just hoping for one??? Thought it was usually 2pm on a Thursday.

    Sunderland...

I think that f***er needs to tinker with his hearing aid because I was there and can confirm our fans sung for more or less the full 90 minutes (MOTD and Football First corroborate this as all you can hear is our lot). The loudest noise from the home support came when Webb gave a corner rather than a penalty. "Ah but you see the pitchside mics are not positioned near the magnificent SWC, they're nearer the away end. So it picks up all the chanting from the away end, not our lot, even though we were twice as loud as you. It's the Magedia again, FTM, 9-1" - Some mackem twat off SMB (I may have made this up) They've got a ready made excuse/lie for everything Mag related, fucking embarrassing :-[ Speaking of the 9-1, when they were giving us abuse, most responded with the 5-1 hand signals, seemed to wind them up a bit. Had at least 3 or 4 charvas hold 9 webbed fingers up in response Anyone see the 3 or 4 fit birds in the executive boxes?

They talk some shite like. They were pretty loud in the first half, and TBF did respond out a few of our songs well. Hardly 'drowned' us out mind Second half I didn't hear a peep out of the famous, fantastic, world renowned SWC. Outsung them all half and I don't remember them singing after the goal went in. If they feel better now they've convinved themselves they won the singing contest, the Larsson pen was ball to hand and they played us off the park, then good for them. Did they not notice the big fuck off scoreboard that read sunderland 0-1 Newcastle
  5. That ALS review. Wes Brown MOTM, Bardsley's tackle 50/50, dominated possession Cheers Ron and cp40
  6. Sorry if already asked, but does anybody know who the bloke was from the backroom staff, who ran over and threw his shirt in the away end? Seemed good pals with Barton, was pretty funny seeing him sprint over to the fans
  7. Thought the same. Don't know if that's where he should be during corners, though. Probably would be better for him to wait outside of the box to take a shot. Nah, that's Tiote's job Joey definitely took some corners. Looks like Joey, Cabaye and Raylor are sharing set piece duties. When? He did against Arsenal, he didn't against the mackems. Cabaye took all of them except when he was off at the end, Cheik took it and kept it in the corner with Jonas.
  8. For sure, I don't for one minute think he's on a par or massively similar as a player, just thought it was a bit like watching Lil Wayne at times.
  9. Reminded me a little bit of a taller Routledge. Has the ability to beat his man via pace or skill, yet lacked the confidence to do so and kept cutting back. Mistimes his jumps for headers as well and his tracking back, lack of interest was a bit shite. Was pretty poor on Saturday, but I would like to think given a bit of time and a run of matches he will improve and try and take the full back on. That said, I reckon with everyone fit, he'll do pretty well to get in the first XI. Maybe he's better to have as an impact player off the bench, playing more centrally or starting games at home against so called lesser teams.

    Shola Ameobi

Thought he should have been brought off after about 75-80mins, he was fucked and was barely walking about by that point. Ba or Best on in his place would have made sense. We had no outlet and everything was coming straight back at us. Put in a better shift than usual though and gave Brown a tough time.

  12. Went down well with the away end, totally pointless though as he ended up moving before free kick, he was stood about 8 yards offside!
  13. I thought Joey took one or two, almost certain he took a decent free kick in the first half. Cabaye was on corners, anything in shooting range Raylor and long free kicks seemed to be taken predominantly by Raylor as well. I did notice Joey seemed to take up the Nolan position from corners and set pieces, in and around the goalkeeper making a nuisance of himself, should have been rewarded with a goal as well, but for Larsson's great save.
  14. Covered a lot of ground and was usually solid enough, a few class deft touches. As others have said though, he turned into trouble a few times and wanted too long on the ball. He said himself he feels short of match fitness and doesn't feel sharp after the Arsenal game. Said he thinks it would be 2 or 3 games before he is back to his usual self.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

So assuming he does actually make his comeback against Wolves, he will only have missed 6 league games. Not bad like, but we've had so many false dawns with his supposed return dates, I'm trying to not get too excited

    Sunderland...

Without trawling through the last 20 odd pages, so far I've heard from them: Our fans were shite, didn't make any noise all game The hand ball wasn't deliberate from Larsson, so it wasn't a penalty or a red They battered us and we fluked the win Cattermole played well Sessegnon has the quickest feet in the prem They don't care about losing, will still finish above us, it's early in the season, they were the better side etc etc. Assume the last 20 pages has already discussed how fucking tragic all this is
  17. I thought he was one of our best players on Saturday, only really Jonas and Colo better than him. He mugged a few of their players, really solid in the tackle, which is amazing given his size. I knew he was of a slight build and about 5ft 8" ish, but at the match he looked tiny. Made some really nice passes as well, looks a very intelligent footballer. Buzzed about the pitch and for the second week in a row, he ran himself into the ground. If he looks this promising and decent now, can't wait to see him in the second half of the season! Might get Cabaye 4 on the orange shirt, but don't want to jinx it! Oh and he may be small but he's fucking ripped, threw his shirt in the crowd at the end and he looked more like a welterweight than a footballer have got a lot of man love for this guy
  18. Buzzing for this one now, have to leave Newmarket at about 4:30am-5am tomorrow, need to make it for the coach and get some grub, not been SOS before either. Reckon we'll nick it 2-1, but wouldn't be too unhappy with a point.
  19. Shola and Raylor starting, what a horrendous thought.
  20. From the little I have seen of Marveaux, I think he looks faster. Routledge is deceptively slow, he looks like he's going like a train, but it's just his little steps make him look faster than he is. At Bolton away last season, he had a race across the pitch against Big Sulzeer Jeremiah at half time and was left for dead looked slow a few times against City as well.
  21. Don't forget Diaby last season as well
