Of course. He needs a reason to moan about something.
  2. No wonder McKay is pushing for the deal and talking it up in the papers.

    Ryan Taylor

He was utter crap man. He's the first player to give it the big hoof under the slightest pressure on the ball. Thank god we got a set piece which he could score from to justify his presence on the pitch. Utter liability otherwise. That would be Simpson.

    Ryan Taylor

Simpson is getting worse and worse, doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes and spends the whole game blasting the ball into orbit and blaming everyone else for his miscued passes and shit clearances. I used to think he was solid enough and improving, but he's regressed like fuck and I think he's a libaility. Raylor is no world beater, but if Simpson is a better option at right back than him, then we're in bigtrouble. At least Raylor will put the odd decent cross in, would do ok defensively if he had Jonas playing in front of him as well, showed that at the SOS I thought.
  5. Looked assured and wanted the ball, unlike a few of our so called senior players.
  6. Was pure class last night, some of the saves were ridiculous, especially the one off Colo's shoulder At the risk of sounding negative, his kicking still leaves a bit to be desired. They nearly scored after two fluffed clearances. Only going to get better though, hope he's our number 1 for years to come

    Dan Gosling

He looked rusty and his passing was well out. TBF to him, he just started looking dangerous and was getting in some good positions, then he was hauled off The right decision though, not had much football in the last what, year and a half?

    Sunderland...

Because it's a rehash of a chant that's been used before, like 95% of football chants then

    Sunderland...

 Oh aye, they're support and songbook is fucking cracking. So good in fact, that when there's 500 odd of them sat down all game in the away end, it sounds like the Westminster Choir. They really are getting embarrassing now.

    Alan Pardew

Third game in a row where we've failed to come out the blocks, this needs to get sorted otherwise we'll find ourselves 2 or 3 down in the first half against better teams. Obviously gave them a bollocking at half time and the subs were spot on, so credit for that. As others have said though, Lovenkrands wide right was a bit I quite like him TBH, "The Ameobi's are well and dusted at this club" or something like that, he has such an odd turn of phrase and always has me laughing. Not quite sure what this new style we're supposed to be implementing is though? I know we've barely started the season, but we're playing more long ball than we did with Carroll in the team. The two best technical players on the pitch, Cabaye and Marveaux were constantly doing it last night, Simpson seems to be stuck on hoof mode and Raylor loves a long punt upfield as well. Would have thought trying to outpass and outplay a League One side would be a good idea, but it was shit to watch at times. Got a feeling Sunday we will look to get the ball on the deck a bit more, bloody hope we do!

    Erik Pieters

Despite hardly seeing this lad apart from struggling against Benfica in the Europa and rating Cissokho higher, he seems the obvious choice now. Can cover centre back, cheaper than Cissokho and sounds like Williamson is out for a while. Kadar has disappeared off the face of the earth and is unproven anyway. 2 players for the price of 1 with Pieters, our kind of signing
  12. I'd rather him than Obertan TBH, but you're probably right, I'd imagine he'll be struggling to get out of bed this morning.
  13. Some of the comments aye, would you not agree, for whatver reason, he's looked shit, lazy and uniterested so far? I'm still confident he'll come good by the way, at 26 he's not suddenly going to lose his footballing ability! Embarrassing because I disagree with you?
  14. Technically he looks superb, very intelligent footballer. Did really well to last 120 minutes as well, could tell he was flagging a bit near the end, but he still got about the pitch and put a foot in. In time, what I would like to see from him is to have a go at the fullback more. Got a great touch, good speed and looks so comfortable dribbling with it, that I'd like to see him get down the flank more often. Sure it will come with a few games and when he gets his match fitness up. Would be tempted to start him Sunday.
  15. Got a great engine, was always tracking his runners as well as looking to get on the ball and push forward. If we had better movement in front of him he'd really come into his own. HBA, Marveaux, Obertan, a new striker and hopefully Jonas will eventually help with this. Sadly, like most of our players last night, he was going too direct at times, just chipping it up for Best to nod on. Personally think we've got a class player here, his set pieces are mint as well.
  16. Is he a muslim? Shouldn't have that much to say tbh, but could have something to do with ramadan, I guess. This is the only explanation I can come up with. Looks jaded and uninterested, miles off the pace and just generally sluggish. For West Ham he looked explosive, put the hard yards in and got himself in good positions. A lot of his goals in Germany showed how much ability he has. From what I've seen so far, he looks like a shit Shola before he bulked up. Still plenty of time though, needs to settle into our system (which consists of far too much hoof ball at the minute.) He has a proven track record and fasting can't help, even if he does eat and drink on matchdays.
  17. He was worryingly shit last night. He's regressed as a footballer. Scared of the ball, constant hoofs to nobody in particular, mistimed headers and out of position for most of their attacks. Oh and he's shit going forward. R.Taylor to right back when/if we get a new left back in.

    Leon Best

Bit of an over used saying in football, but you would worry more if he wasn't getting into those positions and missing the chances, i.e Demba Ba and Lovenkrands, who barely managed 2 efforts between them. Went close with a header first half, goal should have stood and nearly netted with that shot from the edge of the box in extra time. Did fluff a few other chances mind. Wanted a bit too long on the ball, but he did show good strength and a bit of trickery at times as well, looks so unatural doing skills though If we're going 4-4-2 Sunday, he has to start IMO. Won so many headers and put in a great shift. Really worrying that Shola is currently our best striker :-[
  19. You're sure that this Robbie guy is better than Harper? No, but I doubt he has the knees of an 70 year old and requires someone to shout 'timber' when going down for a shot.... I've seen him a few times live at The Valley and on the box, as one of my mates is a Charlton fan. Looks a decent enough keeper, albeit at a lower level.
  20. He was one of the few players to come out of the relegation season with credit, he generally played well that season, its just a myth he suddenly came good in the Championship imo. Once we were relegated everyone was saying how Enrique was going to storm the Championship. Spot on. You could always see he was going to end up being class, even in his first season when he was making a lot of mistakes. He has had 2 quality seasons here and 1 decent enough. 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
  21. Think we need another keeper, can see why we bid for Rob Elliot. Harper is not going to be reliable, if Krul is injured we're in trouble.
  22. Think this will be a bit of a scrappy game. Would make 4 or 5 changes from Saturday, would not be including Alan Smith in that though! Vuckic, Ba and Gosling all need to start I think.
  23. As much as I like the bloke and rate him as a player, this is what I would prefer as well.
