  1. I like right next door to them and honestly they're not half as bad as the media tries to portray them, what many people in the UK think of them is quite far from the reality. They literally kill journalists ffs Next door to them, in what sense? Currently picturing Bin Salman tending to the garden of a quiet semi-detached. "Aye, canny lad, keeps himself to himself. Media blow that whole beheading journalists stuff completely out of proportion, was just a misunderstanding."
  2. Western governments bomb shepherds in the middle east for fun and introduce policies like ‘herd immunity’. Just use a bit of the old whataboutary and you should be able to convince yourself that this is ok. I mean, all governments are shady, have plenty of dark secrets, I'm sure and have a lot of issues. The western world usually just proclaim that we're the good guys, to justify bombing countries into the stone age, so that we can restore order, fight the WAR ON TERROR and bring peace However, everything you read about Saudi Arabia is scary as fuck and seems to stand out as even worse than a lot of other countries.
  3. Probably missed the discussion on this already. But what are people’s thoughts on being owned by a bunch of reprehensible scumbags, who make Mike Ashley seem fairly decent in comparison? I’m caught in two minds. Obviously happy that it looks like the fat twat is finally on his way out and I can enjoy football again. But been fairly critical of the Saudi regime in the past and have read plenty of horror stories about them.
  4. He is such a diving little shit Isn't that his second yellow for diving this season? Other one was Arsenal, I think? He always makes so much of a tiny bit of contact, or no contact in this case and goes down like a sack of shit. I just worry he might actually lose out on some genuine fouls, a bit like Zaha. Despite his play acting and going to shit whenever he gets in the box. I do actually rate him. His vision and passing is pretty good, he's direct with the ball, rapid as fuck. Different types of players, but he kind of reminds me of how Pepe has been at Arsenal. Looks decent and tidy, then falls apart when they get near the box. Needs to get a goal and to continue playing in the Rafa system/more centrally. When he is out wide playing as a genuine winger, he looks pretty bad.
  5. He really isn't. He's just thoroughly unimpressed by everything, everything was better in his day, everyone is a wanker to him. He's a miserable, dour prick that never really adds much but abuse, criticism and negativity. The man is deranged. He makes Souness seem like Jimmy Bullard in comparison. Graeme “Effort/Desire” Souness. He never offers any tactical insight. He thought we played a back 4 vs Spurs when the Skysports lineup even showed him before the game it wasn’t. I was more meaning how depressing and grumpy he always is. Keane somehow manages to come across worse. I can't stand either.
  6. That Saka looks tidy as fuck. Always seemed to get his body in, decent touch, then roll his man and go on a decent run or make a tidy pass. Really promising player if last night is anything to go by. Pepe on the other hand. Why in the fuck did they pay £70m for him off one great season in France? I think I have seen 3 full Arsenal games this season plus highlights and he's been dreadful every time. Looks alright until he gets within 30 yards of the goal, then totally falls apart.

  8. I don't. I think he's equally as shit but just slightly more mobile. Basically, without Longstaff. Our midfield options are pretty grim. Hayden doesn't even look useful this year. I mean none of the players do, which is no real surprise under Pat Butcher's management.
  9. I've thought at times the criticism aimed at him is a bit OTT and I have often enjoyed watching him play. But fuck me, it's getting pretty indefensible now. I'm sure he was walking about for most of the game on Saturday. Absolute shite.
  10. Reading that. I’ll just add for the 700th time. He would have been perfect under Robson or Keegan.
  11. Had to unfollow all Chronicle related accounts on twitter, as this little cunt kept appearing on my timeline. Scum. Subhuman scum.
  12. Barca v Werder Bremen. I think it was 2005 and I was 16/17. Absolutely loved it. Various shite Cambridge United games. Boro v Blackburn back when we got relegated the first time under Ashley, if memory serves. I'm sure it was 0-0 and utter garbage. Various Arsenal games. Great stadium and some decent enough pubs nearby. WBA v Sunderland - 0-0 Charlton v Crystal Palace Loads of lower league/semi-pro games. The first one I can vaguely remember going to other than NUFC was Peterborough vs York. Fuck knows how young I was, but I think I fell asleep and thought it was strange that there was no commentary I'm sure that was 0-0 and all
  13. Oh for sure. Well, to a certain degree. The gap to the top clubs just gets bigger and bigger and there are still so many things that do my head in with it. Fans of other clubs who are doing well that I speak to think the same. When Liverpool, Spurs and Man U supporting mates complain to me, I do find it hard to sympathise But I do get it.
  14. I think that is a fair post. I know people who support clubs ranging from League Two to the Premier League and quite a lot of them seem to be disillusioned with the modern game. I'm sure it is partly due to the fact I have lost interest in NUFC. But I have found my love of the game has diminished quite a bit over the last few years. The money is obscene and the gap just gets bigger to the top/rich clubs. The cheating/faking injury has gone way too far, I don't like how VAR has been implemented, the atmosphere at games has gone, most of the shows and punditry does my head in and a lot of the social media stuff from players and super fans is pure . I'm sure there is more, but I've fell out of love with it at the top level, for sure. It certainly doesn't seem sustainable or particularly enjoyable anymore.
  15. Reading this thread and Daydream Believer just came on what a coincidence.
  16. Arsenal are the worst and most noticeable for this. Probably because of how many season ticket holders they have. They'll announce something like 58,000 and there are about 10,000-15,000 empty seats.
  17. So that is now the owner, the manager and a fair few of the players I don't like. What the fuck has happened to this club?!
  18. I know it's opinions, but I swear some people are watching a different player or re-writing history. When the fat, lazy slob can be bothered to get up the pitch. He'll play, or at least attempt through balls or passes round the corner, that most players in our team wouldn't even see, never mind try. It's like people only remember him sitting deep and zinging 60 yarders that look pretty, yet rarely come off or come to much. I think he is more of a low percentage/high reward type passer and one of the only midfielders we have that even try anything positive, passing wise. Which is why I find this argument so odd, especially when Ki is mentioned as anything other than someone that is a bit more mobile. Longstaff is probably going to be a better player overall, he might already be, even. But still early days there. Hayden is good at what he does and I hope he stays, TBH. After that, shite. I actually think my main gripe with Shelvey is his shooting and set pieces. So talented and accurate with the ball a lot of the time. But shits himself when he shoots and blazes it over. His set pieces are usually crap, as well.
  19. I can fully understand the frustrations with Shelvey's laziness, the fact he's radio rental and how deep he often sits (seems more of a tactical problem, no). However, because he's said some stupid shite about Rafa and bigged up Bruce. Suddenly he's not even that good at passing and Schar, Lejeune and Ki are better passers? Absolute madness.
  20. Maybe that's what it is?! He was so shit at the start, I then had a fixed opinion on him and I was overly-critical and never changed my stance when he came back in.
  21. For all his flaws, I actually quite rate Shelvey and enjoy watching him play. However, I totally take what people are saying on board about him in regards to how we became predictable and one dimensional. What I can't get my head round is Ki being such an important player in our upturn in form? I thought he was one of our worst players last season and didn't really contribute anything. But if it was a subtle change of just someone who plays a bit further forward and is a bit more mobile (he's still slow and weak as fuck). Then maybe I missed it and just wasn't paying attention. I feel like I haven't been paying proper attention to NUFC for 5 years or so.
  22. Maybe a bit harsh. I'd say Ki is up there with him, Schar as well but I'm not sure who else would be in the conversation. Ki is a good passer? He seems like the ultimate 'nothing player' to me. Couldn't even tell you what he is supposed to be decent at? Whatever people's views are on Jonjo's contribution, comments and all round ability. His passing is outrageously good, IMO. ki changed the entire shape of our play when he came in last season, then longstaff came in and did the same thing even better when he fucked off to the asian cup What did he do exactly, bar run around slightly more than Shelvey? I'm not even sure I'm being sarcastic, anymore I genuinely can't remember Ki doing anything decent, or contributing much. Just seems like another squad player that isn't good enough, to go with the other 10-15 that we already have.
