  1. Really happy for him. Great to see someone so passionate that wants to play for us. He isn't the most technically gifted. But he is a bit of a monster and puts it all in.
  2. Plus Swansea seemed to go 4-3-3 towards the end, giving us loads of time and space in the middle.
  3. This lad is class. Always seems like the ball has got away from him, or he's falling over. Yet he comes away still in possession.
  4. Holds onto the ball for too long, looks poor in the final third and generally seems to make the wrong decisions on a regular basis. Tidy enough player and his class shines through, at times. But he just seems like a nothing player, with no position. Still arguably our best option in the 10. Which is a bit of a worry.
  5. He was poor today, aye. But trying to say Diame played well/ok in comparison kind of voids your argument. Especially when you keep banging on about Hayden's poor touch. Diame's touch wouldn't look out of place in League Two. He has been horrendous when called upon this season.
  6. Not sure losing Gayle and replacing him with Perez drastically improves us, TBH. I think keeping Gayle as an option from the bench and trying to spend some of the pennies we have on trying to get an attacking midfielder that isn't hopeless, would be a better option.
  7. Struggled as a lone front man in the Championship and was never going to lead the line in Rafa's system in the Prem. That said, I'd keep him. I think he will be a good player off the bench and chip in with a decent return, like he did at Palace. Where I believe he had a good goals per minutes played ratio. I'm just not sure we'd actually replace him with an upgrade. In fact, I'm not sure we'd replace him at all.
  8. Oh well. Another season of nothingness, with no cup run and a cunt of an owner. YAY. Long live the Premier League
  9. I swear this place is bi-polar and the swings in opinions on players, managers, Game of Thrones seem to swing so quickly, in such a short space of time. I don't really use any other forums, mind. So it might be the case across the board.
  10. I thought he had a good game, a couple of rash tackles aside.
  11. Despite getting caught in possession a couple of times late on. He really came into the game the last half hour or so. I thought it was a promising performance after a nervy and TBF, pretty poor start. I was surprised to read he was getting slated and that Souness was calling him shite. Not surprised, mind. That dour cunt is the most miserable, negative pundit in the game and to top it off, he hates us. Pisses me off he is always on for our games.
  12. TCD uses that term all the time and I think it grates on people. Understandably so
  13. I find this interesting and it was something I was thinking about the other day. When we forked out, by our stingey standards, quite a lot for Murphy (£12m, wasn't it)? I thought it was a good sign, as we must have a bit to spend. I mean we needed another wide option or two. But not more than a striker, no.10 or left back IMO. Plus we knew Rafa was in the market for a keeper. But it hasn't really played out like that, especially after seeing the Ashley interview. I wonder if it was a case of Rafa being promised more money than he got, or just foolishly thinking he had more of a budget to work with? Or perhaps he thought it would be easier to shift some of the shite and high earners? Whatever the reasons. It seems odd that our most expensive signing this summer, is probably going to be a winger from the Championship.
  14. Not re-watched it. But if memory serves, not only was he too far off him, he was also deeper than the rest of the line, playing Alli onside.
  15. I knew there would be this comparison, but thought it would be from Spurs fans trying to justify it. Lascelles was side on, going for a loose ball, where neither player was in possession. He clearly wins the ball with the tackling leg and the other leg then follows through. Not really a scissor motion, as such. But pretty sure the ref could have taken a stricter view, judging by what players get booked for these days. Kane has overrun the ball, Lejeune is about to get possession, when Kane comes and scissors him from behind. Both legs pin his foot, hence it twisting and fucking his ankle up. I really don't see how they are the same?
  16. Who was it he kicked out at during a game last season, whilst he was on the deck? I think he somehow got away with it and they didn't retrospectively ban him. I'm sure there was another incident last season, as well. Not just the Wolves game. He didn't actually do anything wrong when he got sent off against Forest. But it seems like he is the easiest player in the country to wind up and get a reaction from. He seems to always be one petty incident away from getting himself sent off. He seems as bad as Barton in that regard
  17. Aye. Looking fairly comfortable at 0-0 at HT and quite a few people pissing their pants that we hadn't completely outclassed Spurs and knocked in four or five Is there a happy medium on this forum? Or do we only deal in extremes?
  18. Yeah. It is a small sample size, granted. I am just worried looking at our midfield and attacking options, that are the same players that struggled to consistently play well in the Championship. Not 'bedwetting' or crying that we'll get relegated just yet. But this just highlights how average/awful some of our players are at this level.
  19. Organised and well drilled whilst sitting deep. Had nothing to offer going forward, though. Which is hardly surprising, when our team is made up of a load of Championship quality players.
  20. Well even before the injuries and red card. It was a terrible game of football and we had nowt going forward. I've had enough of this season already
  21. This bloke will never learn. Cameras everywhere, so was never going to get away with it, regardless. But does it right in front of the ref. Alli is an irritating fucker. But is there really any need for that?
