Don't they play with size 3 and 4, up until a certain age? Not like a proper match ball either, is it? I might be wrong. It's been a long time since I played youth football!
-
Steve McLaren and Lee Clarke agree with this. He's got Santi Carzola's shoulder to cry on, though. Anyway, mine is the thing at the minute of American kids being banned from heading the ball because it leads to brain damage or something, which is only because they're not learning the proper technique. Good to see they're cutting off the main cause of their kids becoming mental mass-shooting mooseknuckles, though. But they're still big into American Football, in full gear, from an early age?! Fwiw it's a lot easier to reform youth soccer than it is youth football. Oh I can imagine. But I read that like 3-4 high school players died this year playing football? How many more got serious injuries, or are going to have long term problems with their noggin? But. Heading a football is bad for you? Head it with your forehead and you'll be fine. It's not like the olds days where you're heading a cannon ball, that gets lumped up in the air every 10 seconds.

I always thought Andy van der Meyde, looked a bit like the chubby guy in The League of Gentlemen.

He had a brain tumour didn't he? I thought he was in remission, but I guess not. RIP. Sad news.

Cabella and Thauvin cost about what? £25-30m for the pair? One of them totally failed to make an impact and has now gone. The other hasn't really looked that great and the transfer had French fans laughing at us. Still early days, of course. I remember going to HBA's first two games. Blackpool at home. We were utter shit and we lost, but he came on and got the whole crowd excited. Then Everton away, where he absolutely ran the show. Missed his goal because of a fucking pillar restricting my view Our club is an utter joke.
-
I suppose he provided you with stats? You know, to prove he directly cost us all of these goals and always left us isolated and unbalanced?
-
People seem surprised at the mong comments on sky sports articles? The chronicle website is full of HBA haters as well. As is twitter it would seem.

Fair enough. I did think it was all doom and gloom, when he seemed to have some good times here. He really seemed to enjoy his football at times and I remember a lot of people commenting on how settled and happy he seemed. Then it all went to shit This is why I never claim authority over a fan of another club regarding their own team. Highlights are no substitute for watching every game and keeping up with every rumour or piece of news. You can fall into a media narrative so easily, Pardew's treatment by the media during his time here being the perfect example. Agree with this. It is hard not to at times. But if it is someone who I know is fairly clued up on their own team, and not some glory boy that watches highlights here and there. Then I always try not to pass judgement too much.

Which is what a lot of these types of people said when Cabaye admitted he had suffered from depression. I'm a massive fan of his. But I did find his comments a bit strong, like. Going through hell and seeing the light and whatever else he said. It was well overboard IMO. I get he was treated badly and as a pro that likes to showcase his skills and talents. It must have been s*** for him. But having to train for a few hours a day with the stiffs. Whilst getting handsomely rewarded for it. Is a long way from what the majority of the population on planet earth, would call "hell". It's all relative though, you could p*ss and moan about how awful your week at work was and have this little c*** giving you hackies: http://images1.browardpalmbeach.com/imager/justin-timberlake-mocks-homeless-people-at/u/original/6419720/skepticalafricanboytimberlake.jpg Of course it's relative. I did point out that it must have been shit for him. But I still find his comments well OTT. Especially when such a tiny percentage of the population are ever going to be in a position like his. Comes across a bit shit IMO. I am fortunate enough, that I really enjoy my life and get on with people at work, my family life is great, the missus is sound as fuck, good social life etc. A lot of people aren't so lucky and everyone has a different way of looking at things. All that said. If someone had a boss, who was a bit of a wanker and on their case all the time. I would also find that a bit extreme if they described it as a living hell and comparable to solitary confinement in some sort of prison

28 is the new 35 for a footballer. No way we'd go for him. Let's get some overpriced, overrated young French lad, for £14m instead.
-
Mirallas would be far too expensive for us and probably too old now (not checked if he's over 26). But I'd have him here in a heartbeat. As Neil says, his end product is a bit lacking at times. But he's exciting and is the type of player I pay money to watch.
-
Have to be honest, I did find his quotes about "hell" and "seeing the light". A bit cringeworthy. I know money shouldn't come into it and it's all relative. But the way he described it. It was as if he's been put into solitary confinement and been on a stale bread and water diet I don't think he's blameless in this whole ordeal, either. He definitely was porky at times and I'm sure he was a lazy sod at training. Not that the last line bothers me at all. I read Vieira was awful at training. But come game day, he was constantly one of the best players on the pitch. I love HBA and he was held to ridiculous standards when he was here. Playing consistently shit players ahead of him and giving them a free pass. Whilst slating 'ATAM publicly, for every missed pass and not creating enough or defending enough, or whatever else he used to get blamed for. Pardew was and still is, a complete and utter cunt. I just always imagine what HBA would have been like under Sir Bobby or KK. Pardew's ego got in the way and stopped him from making exceptions with Ben Arfa. Because of this. We've lost one of the most naturally gifted players I've ever seen at the club and our most exciting player we've had in recent memory.
-
What nightclub story is this? I remember a bit in the mag from him. Saying something about our fans having unrealistic expectations, slating HBA, Keegan and licking Pardew's arse. There is more on top of this?!

Easy there Ronaldo If that is the case and it may well be true. Then he is deluded if he thinks he's going to be some top Champions League player. Champions League Qualifiers for Celtic, maybe. Massively inconsistent, due to only being able to play on the counter? That isn't really going to work for a top team is it? Oh and he had chances to counter towards the end of the game Saturday and kept f***ing it up. He wants too many touches and tries to cut back a lot of the time, instead of just releasing it, playing a one two and then powering forward. I never said he was going to be a top Champions League player. He was just bad the other day but generally whether he plays badly or well depends on if the other team are giving him space to run into or not. I know you didn't. I was merely pointing out that, if you're right with your views on why he's inconsistent. Then I struggle to see why he thinks so highly of himself and why he'd be coveted by top clubs? It's like the N'Zogbia scenario all over again, except Sissoko is obviously a better player. I don't want to lose him. I think he creates chances, scores goals and will drag us through games. But he often looks half arsed and makes stupid decisions. I don't think his technique and touch are particularly decent, either. As it stands. I think I'd rather have a player with his ability. That plays well here and there. Than to trust the board to replace him with anyone that is an upgrade or that even fits our system better.

 Holy fuck. That's is hilarious. Need to find the GIF now.

At the ref? I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed it. Had me and my mate in stitches. I remember kids pulling that face at each other at school to kind of hint that "you're a bit of a spaz"

I can't say I've noticed it a lot in other games. But it seemed as if they were under direct orders to let Bournemouth have the ball until the final third? I've never seen so many players backing off and refusing to close down. The players seemed to be jogging back, away from the ball carrier. So lazy going with runners as well. We would lose the ball, then just retreat. It was shambolic. If that isn't coming from the manager, then we have a load of gutless fuckers and the manager has no control over the team. I don't think that's the case though. It seemed like that was our tactics for the day. Worrying. I'll take playing so badly and managing to win. It was a '6 pointer' after all. But being played off the park, by the team that are also battling relegation, scares the shit out of me. We need to be far more positive going forward and look to the Norwich game as the blueprint. Trying to keep it tight and nick a goal with this team. Will lead to a lot of heavy defeats.

He is an absolute stroker. He might end up managing a League One team if he's lucky. That will still end in disaster and no doubt he'd get sacked after half a season.
-
I'm sure our resident mackems have been saying "this is the year we finally go down". For the last few years? They'll get 6 points off us and stop up like usual. I think with that horrible, midtable bog troll now in charge. They'll somehow get out of it. They look utter shite and I don't see how they will get enough points. At present, there certainly aren't 3 worse teams than them on current form. But I think he'll find a way to hoof them to safety.
-
I know he's not our player, so people aren't interested. But what about Stanislas not long before? Tiote brushed him with his hand, whilst going for a header and he went down like he'd been hit with a right cross. Laid on the floor for ages, face down. Then pretended to act all groggy and gingerly walked off. It was just as bad as our cheating Spaniard. But of course, English players don't cheat and would never feign an injury.

As much as I think Perez has been playing well behind Mitro and there is a lot of potential there. I like the sound of this formation and setup.
