Not for a while. We look very poor at the back if we haven't got our first choice defenders. We also look weak up top when Defoe doesn't start. Toivonen is one of the worst midfielders I've seen in our team while we've been in the Premier League. Will we go down? F*ck knows That is some achievement Can't say I'm that well versed on Sunderland midfielders from the Premier League era. But considering most of the time spent around the bottom of the league and some of the shit you've had over the years. Toivonen must be absolutely horrendous

What a GIF. Incredible As for Pardew. I was watching our game yesterday and a Man U fan of all people, chirp up with the "look at how well Pardew is doing at Palace. So obviously no manager at NUFC can succeed and he didn't do that badly." Has a point about our club under Ashley, but I hit him with a load of truths about 'Pards'. His reply? "Yeah. But to be fair, he does play great, attacking football." People seem to lap up the shit he spouts and believe his pals in the media. Just watch one of his teams and ignore all his patter. I struggle to see how anyone would come to that conclusion if they did this.

7. I'm still worried we'll throw away all our good recent work and lose to Villa. If we beat them, then I think it's more like a 4 or 5. 3 wins on the bounce and pretty much finishing off one of our relegation rivals in the process, would be huge.

Out on Saturday with work. Then I've got a Sunday session with a load of the lads from football, a load of them happen to be Spurs fans. So I'll be watching us get hammered, with a massive hangover and a load of Spurs wankers taking the piss.

I will not be happy, until he is torn limb from limb by a load of his slave labour, factory workers.. Like a scene from a George A. Romero film. In all seriousness. I'm glad to see him getting the bad publicity he deserves. Sadly, I doubt they'll carry on with their articles about him and this will all blow over and be forgotten about.

I do love how they're constantly trying to claim the moral high ground. All whilst abusing people left, right and centre. Full of mouth breathers that forum, I've never seen so much anger and hatred. Quite a large majority of them should probably be sectioned

I think he is involved with the Ipswich youth set up now. A mate of mine's lad plays there and they both speak highly of him. I have seen him up the races before. He was as flash as always, but actually stopped for a quick word when I got starstruck and just said "Alright Keiron" He had a grand each way on a 40/1 shot. It come last

They're both bearded, insufferable cunts?

This. Fans of other teams and pundits who only know about the SKY 6. Usually like to bleat on about how wrong it is to sack the manager, they should stick with him etc. I always thought Monk was a fairly strange appointment and possibly a risky one. They haven't progressed under him and now they appear to be going backwards. That is worrying. I think I'd be wanting our manager gone with form like that. 6 points from a possible 33, plus a cup loss to a lower league team?! That is form. I'm not even sure Pardew went on a run quite that bad? He'd just have his insane 5-6 wins in a row. Coupled with 5-6 losses in a row. But to be that bad for 12 games, is a massive worry. It's not like they've had a really horrible set of fixtures, either.

I always used to think this, but if he is, it's marginal. He kept booting it too straight and it would just harmlessly go through to Mignolet. His throws were pretty impressive though! I see we still employ the long free kick routine, that Pardew used to love. Anything in our half and you can guarantee Elliot is launching it long. So depressing to watch and this was when I seemed to notice that his kicking didn't look much better than Krul's.

That's actually a pretty good shout

I was so happy when he went. But then we appointed Carver and now we have Steve Mac. Nothing appears to have changed and they're still not learning from their constant mistakes. The playing style may be slightly better, even if we do get humped just as much, if not more. But long term, it looks bleak with this current 'business model'. I think year after year, of an Ashley run club. Has just worn me down beyond the point of giving two fucks. Was pleased with the win, but I do just feel a bit apathetic about it all now. You know what I used to be like and I hate feeling like this. But I know that nothing is changing, unless Ashley leaves.

Anyone hear Rob Elliot in the Sky interview? Something like "we are organised and we have FRET." He loves Pardew so much, he even uses the same ridiculous phrases.
-
I think it's hard to actively want your team to lose and play badly. The same way it's hard to not be happy to see us winning. All that said, if all we have as fans to look forward to, is a relegation scrap every year, with a bang average manager and a cunt of an owner. I can see why people think relegation is a decent alternative. There is the chance Ashley would sell up and we'd actually look to become a football club again. Not a national laughing stock, with an awful system in place. It's a risk, as there is no guarantee Ashley would leave. Or that we'd get a better owner in his place. But football isn't very enjoyable for me at the minute. I've massively gone off the Premier League these last couple of years and I think NUFC has a huge role to play in me feeling like that.

Would have brought him on at the end, instead of Thauvin. Nothing was sticking and the ball just kept coming straight back. He hasn't got on the pitch since the Leicester game, has he?
-
He has played wide left, with some success though is my point. At the minute, we have a midfield that consists of 2 central attacking players, that re being used out wide. With 2 holding players in the middle. I'm not sure it's sustainable, or that it will work on a consistent basis. It certainly hasn't so far and we hardly creative again yesterday.
-
I certainly noticed him picking the ball up a lot more centrally against Liverpool. Can't say I've looked at his heat map, though. Not that we have many options. But I think it would be good to see an actual wide man/wide forward type, playing out on the left. With Gini more central. Only really Perez or Thauvin fits the bill, which isn't ideal.
-
Really like watching him play. But he is a passenger at times. I'm not sure if playing him wide left is going to be best for him and the team in the long run? He ghosts into some good positions higher up the pitch, from out wide. But I like what I see when he gets on the ball a bit more centrally. Such a classy player in more ways than one. Goes nuts when he scores and he seems like a decent bloke. Love him.

I thought he was MOTM. Not a great game, both teams cagey and it ended up being scrappy and disjointed. Anita seemed to be constantly tracking runners, intercepting passes and won the ball back on numerous occasions. Seemed to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time. I wouldn't normally say that's MOTM worthy. But in a tight game, it was invaluable. Plus it is nice to see that sort of commitment for a change. Most the players were up for it, in fairness. They're both nothing players, but he was miles better than Colback. Who was shit, yet again.
-
I can't quite believe how shit this bloke is? I thought he got a good write up when he was with the mackems? I genuinely can't remember anything decent from him all first half. He was constantly out of position and not in place to influence the game in any way. Never looks to get on the ball and dictate and doesn't even press and break up play in the same way as Anita. I remember his pointless yellow card and that's about it. Pretty annoying that you know he's always going to play when fit. He is utter tripe.
-
Agreed. Sadly, I think barring any injuries. We'll be playing the same XI, until we get hammered a couple of times. Then we'll panic and McClaren will tinker, again.
-
Agreed. I had already had a bit on Liverpool -1, -2, HT/FT. Now done win both halves, win to nil and stuck them in an acca at -2. I'm now half expecting a late goal to give them a 1-0 win. Really can't see anything other than a raping TBH. Hence why I have bet against us in a single, for the first time in my memory.
