Tiresome Contrarian Dickhead

I had a tenner on Liverpool -2 at 9/2. Was 5/1 on Monday. I was surprised it didn't go shorter? Seriously considering topping up and having a bit more at -3. May as well earn some money off the back of our shambolic performances. We'll probably lose 2-0, without registering a shot and having 20% possession. No positives to take and I lose my money.

La Liga 19/20 - Premier Sports acquire exclusive UK TV rights

Ballsy to leave his cushy Sky gig for that like. He'd be an absolute coward if he didn't take that job like How so? Well assuming he wants to be a manager, this is as good a job as he could possibly get. Would be a serious lack of ambition to say no Don't agree. I'm sure he could have dipped his toes at a lower level in this country. Taking over at a massive club in La Liga comes with its fair share of risks. It's a huge job to attempt first time up. As Mojo says. He's leaving a very well paid job with Sky. Where he probably has shit loads of minions and analysts, that help him look so good with his punditry. To take the reigns at one of the biggest clubs in Spain, who haven't got off to the best of starts this season. Even with Moyes and McClaren. I always like it when British managers try and coach abroad. Rarely happens for many reasons. So I think fair play to Neville on this. -
It was sinking. But now Admiral Williamson has returned. He'll steer us toward calmer waters, with his heroic performances at the heart of our defence.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3340589/Newcastle-United-need-Kevin-Keegan-final-fling-Steve-McClaren-just-doesn-t-St-James-Park.html Never going to happen. Not a chance in hell Keegan would work for Ashley, or that Ashley would even entertain the idea. But I thought it was a good read nonetheless. Say what you like about Durham and that awful show of his on Talksport. But this isn't the first time I have read an article from him, which is different to the usual bollocks about us in the media. He does mention the 'expectations', though. I'm not sure the fans expect much nowadays. I'm sure he was one of the only ones that had a dig at Pardew during his time here and all. Despite how he is on his wind up phone in show. I think he's actually a pretty decent journo and he knows his stuff.

He's not a good manager, but he can get a reaction out of players in the short term. Would not be in favour of him being in charge, but could see a logic to Penfold looking at him Yeah, that's fair enough. Still wouldn't want him anywhere near. Probably get an 8 year deal after winning a few games. http://brightcove.vo.llnwd.net/e1/pd/4221396001/4221396001_4205586435001_NP.jpg?pubId=4221396001

I think I'd rather stick with McClaren, than get Sherwood in. Complete bellend and I don't even think he's a good manager.

No idea. Off the top of my head, I thought teams were in for Mbemba and Cisse? The money up front, might be the only good thing about our transfer policy. May also be a bad thing though? As we end up with players, that probably wanted to go elsewhere. Who are pushed into coming here instead, due to the financial side of things. That's one explanation on how uninterested the new signings look.

Same as the Sanchez rumour yesterday. This would be totally unbelievable anywhere else. But here? It sounds about right

Whilst it is kind of hard to argue against this, when looking at our current squad of no-hopers. I really hate this term. It's the sort of thing pundits like Merson say. "I haven't heard of that player and I can't pronounce his name, he isn't good enough for the Premier League." There are plenty of players out there, in other leagues. That would be suited to playing here. Our problem is the transfer strategy of just buying players with a re-sale value. If it is true about not signing players under 26. Then that's the first problem. We've got so many weak, inexperienced players. We have no leaders. Buying players seemingly at random, just because there is potential to make a profit. Is another glaring flaw with this strategy. It's a sure fire way to building a shit team, full of mercs. Which is exactly what we have now. The sort of 'proven Prem players' we'd be looking at. Would be overrated garbage, like Craig Gardner, Aaron Lennon or our very own Jack Colback. If you want a player that can cut it in this league and actually perform on a consistent basis. You're going to pay a fuck load of money. Something we are never going to do. Plus the fact, if they're any good. They're highly unlikely to want to come to this lunatic asylum of a football club. Someone on here yesterday, put it much more eloquently than I ever could. But they basically pointed out, that Carr has almost had to build 3 different teams here. He has had some good signings and some bad. But when the remit appears to be as mentioned above. Is it any wonder why our team is so lopsided? We needed probably a couple of strikers, a wideman or two, a complete overhaul of the defence and a genuine centre midfielder. We got a young unproven striker, who is all about potential, in Mitrovic. Then an even younger one, in Toney. A number 10 who hasn't found a position that suits. A centre back who is completely the wrong type to play next to our gutless captain. We also bought a wideman, that had the French laughing at us. So far, I can see why they were mocking us. We have kept all the tried and failed shit around. As nobody else wants them. Which is probably where this sell to buy story has come from. That's another problem with the current set-up. Just because we have players at a position. It doesn't mean they are serviceable. The problem IMO. Is not the fact we don't buy overpriced, overrated shithouses from England. It is the policy that is in place. Until we start strengthening positions of need and not just looking at the chance to make a few quid on a player. We are always going to have an unbalanced team, full of cunts that don't want to be here.

I wouldn't be confident of 6-7 points from the next 9 games. I really can't see where our next win is coming from? We are woeful.
-
I originally thought that. I mean, at any other club in the league, it would rightly be laughed off.
-
Joe Kinenar wouldn't have been at the top of anyone's list. He was a bolt from the blue. Alan Pardew and Steve McClaren were drinking in the last chance saloon as well. I would never put anything past this completely incompetent set of fucktards.
-
Oh FFS. I read the first bit and was kind of optimistic in some weird way. Then I read Lawrie Sanchez?! It is totally believable and all. We just shop about in the bargain basement, of washed up and past it British managers. I'd imagine we'll be interviewing Paul Ince and Danny Wilson as well. Ron Atkinson must be on the shortlist too.
-
Exactly. That's how it works in modern football. Until recently, we've ran with a skeleton crew. Probably because Ashley got burnt having to pay off Allardyce's backroom team, consisting of about 30 people, including 3 personal chefs. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/resources/images/4352048/?type=mc&htype=54

I can't abide Moyes or Rodgers. But I'd take either in a heartbeat. I'm aware the problems run much deeper than McClaren. But he just looks like a lost, senile old man on the sideline. Then the post game comment of "well, we weren't very good today." No shit. Whilst I admire your honesty. Do something about it you useless tosser. Not just playing the same tried and failed players and tactics every week.
-
Agree with you both there. I went to loads of games last time we were in the Championship. As I had an ST and I naively thought we might get promoted and things would change. Oh how wrong I was..... Not a chance I'd keep going to games home and away this time. I can't even remember the last game I went to! All that said. We were on Sky loads last time. So maybe they'd keep showing our games again and the masochists would still be able to watch.
-
If it would mean getting rid of Ashley. Then yes, of course. Seeing as there is no guarantee of that. Then I'm going for no. I voted No. But the more I think about it. The more undecided I am.

Wigan away under Allardyce is the last time I remember that being sung by the majority. He was sacked not long after. I'm sure it's been sung a lot recently and all. But it seems like quite a few match going fans, have just accepted our shitness. Home games are like a morgue.
-
Cheers. When I used to go to games, even in the relegation season. I can't remember it being particularly vitriolic? I think even at Villa they get applauded off the pitch?!
-
Good positive attitude there St1pe. I think they'd work well in the classic 4-4-2!
