  1. Would be far from ideal. Man U would be a lot better than recent seasons, I reckon. That’s assuming he gets buy in from everyone. But they’ve got rid of most their divas, haven’t they?
  2. I couldn’t find the Bart Simpson gif for the ironing is delicious.
  3. That’s true. But what about staying motivated to keep Howe in a job? I know some have an eye on a transfer and/or the world cup. But if they are still onside, if they respect the manager and they are still buying into what Howe wants. You would have thought they would still be running through brick walls for him? I know it wasn’t really the discussion. But I have seen it mentioned plenty of times. FWIW, I don’t really buy that they have downed tools. Some seem to have and before Arsenal I was starting to think they had. Even though I thought we were crap at Arsenal. I don’t think they had stopped playing or trying. Not in the same way the likes of the Chelsea players had packed in under Rosenior. I think it is more a culmination of many factors. The main ones being how we still set up in games and that we have been lacking a clinical goal scorer all season. For almost the first time since Howe’s been here.
  4. Sorry. I moved this to the squad and tactics thread. As I thought it was probably the wrong place for it in here.
  5. Yeah. I did under Pardew, Carver and Bruce Dark times.
  6. If Howe stays. Surely the club will be looking to replace the utterly useless set piece coach and perhaps also look to freshen up the coaching staff in general?
  7. He just never full evolved. I’m convinced he is a neanderthal. Must have somehow survived frozen for years or something.
  8. Really? Holier than thou, smug, condescending. All ties into sanctimonious. Hence why I found that last line amusing. The ironing is delicious etc.
  9. I’ll let you work it out.
  10. I thought that was more of a pen than the other two
  11. They can’t keep getting away with it
  12. Came in to say the same. So wasteful. Could/should have had a couple already.
  13. I voted no in the poll. But it is also a yes. I still back him and will continue to do so whilst he is here. I’ll not be calling for him to be sacked and I’ve been wrong about him twice in the past. Before he then massively turned it around. All that said. This time, I genuinely don’t see how he is going to change our fortunes. The performances have been pretty bad in the league all season and the squad needs a huge overhaul. Despite just spending big (and wasting a lot of money) in the summer. Cliche and a bit of a throwaway comment. But it does feel like we have been ‘found out.’
  14. Was that not against Leicester 4-5 days later? We needed a point and only just got it. Pope saved us late on. My memory is a little hazy. I watched both in Ibiza
  15. Never a pen. But who cares.
  16. Fletch is borderline obsessed with Declan Rice. Feel like we’re not far off him professing his love for him live on air.
  17. I was about to say. The most interesting thing that has happened so far. Watching him prep and eat sandwiches for 45 minutes would be more entertaining
  18. Looks like an SS Officer.
  19. Such a noncey celebration. This is going to be even worse to watch now.
  20. Arsenal really are the worst good team to watch. Had a couple of chances to counter. But in typical modern football fashion. They cut back and go backwards. So they can then have more slow, meaningless possession.
  21. I was going to say the same. Always think PSG seem vulnerable and a bit open at the back. But they’re so efficient in attack. They looked spent and hadn’t done much for 10-15 minutes near the end there. Then they carved Bayern open with two passes and hit the woodwork. Being 5-2 up and then letting it slip to 5-4 and finishing on the back foot probably isn’t ideal, mind. What a game.

Low bar. But I thought we looked better with him and then Woltemade on. He has been dreadful bar one game and one cameo this season, mind.
  23. Wasn’t sure where to put this. But sort of related to the Howe discussion. How many sets of fans do you think are actually happy with their manager this season? I was having the discussion the other day and it seems like hardly any have been pleased with their manager or their replacement(s). sunderland (despite RTG often calling for RLB’s head), Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham (another meh season, mind), Arsenal assuming they win the Prem or CL, Villa. Who else? Everton maybe? But their home form has been very hit and miss. Just noticed Brighton are 6th. But Hurzeler has been getting flak all season. Leeds have turned it around. But I don’t think Farke was well liked until the turn of the year? Just seems a really odd league. PSR has killed it in lots of ways. Modern football across the board is just a bit crap to watch. The likes of Eze and Cherki the last of a dying breed in the Prem. Their managers don’t even want them playing their natural game, either! Everyone this season has seemed to try and emulate Arsenal’s set pieces along with plenty trying that horseshoe of doom passing shape. That leads to the most boring, slow and easy to defend against side to side passing for hours on end.
