Harvey. Fucking. Barnes. Everyone has been saying how he will link well with Woltemade. There it is.

He’s demanding the ball and happy to get it 20 yards from his own goal with a midfielder up his arse. He looks far better in possession in this setup than he has wide in the 3.

Only thing lacking has been end product. Barnes been heavily involved in chances created, crosses deflecting for corners etc. But Willock and Tino have done fuck all from decent positions with time and space. Trippier’s drilling firat time crosses to nobody (Wissa and Woltemade have to take a lot of the blame here). Tidy it up in the final third and we should be winning this. Wissa does look rusty and born offside.

Often getting it with space to turn or up against midfielders and not CB’s putting him under pressure. Much more secure with the ball in those situations.

Best half/performance for us by a distance. Our best player and arguably the best on the pitch that half. Somehow seems much more comfortable in a 2 and more central. Showing for the ball a lot and happy to drive forward with it. Not his game, I guess. But it would be good if he tried the odd longer pass or diagonal. Played a beauty over to Trippier for that cross where neither Wissa or Wolte fancied attacking it. So he has it in his locker.

Looks more comfortable, much more involved. But he needs to play with more intent and more aggressively. Just sort if wanders about with the ball at times. Never really looking to make something happen. Mind you. That could be levelled at a lot of them today. Playing quite safe.

Eh? Ramsey has been our best player?! Willock has been shite, granted.

Poor first 10 and last 5. But very good other than that, if a bit wasteful. Willock needs to come off. He’s been piss poor and his passing and decision making is even worse than usual.

It’s been pretty good TBF. Ropey first 10. Tonali giving it away a few times. They’re not pressing us as much as usual. But Ramsey is finding space to get on the ball and carry it out. Tonali is often central between the CB’s and has been decent with the ball from there. Passing and movement has looked much better than usual. Just trying to be too intricate in the final third. Ramsey’s best game for us so far by a country mile. Looks far more comfortable in this setup.

Been very good the last 10. Some great movement and interchanging. Ramsey has been class. We just lack anyone to play the incisive passes that Bruno would attempt. Got acres out wide at times.

Tonali’s passing is atrocious. Becoming a big issue. Can barely make a simple 5-10 yard pass at times. Wissa should have buried that chance. First time or if you’re telegraphing it. Find the corner. Ramsey has started brightly.

Mackems keeper is decent, mind. Shite penalties still.

Yep. Some fluidity in that lineup at least. Midfielders and wide/forward players can all play more than one position. Happy with the lineup

Was about to say this. Taken some pastings there already. Fans also complaining about how bad the atmosphere and the ticketing are. Sounds a bit like Spurs in that regard.

Listening to the Under The Cosh pod. He doesn’t come across as badly as I was expecting TBF. Some parts self-deprecating, some the typical arrogant footballer lacking self-awareness. Also feels a bit misunderstood. A good few amusing and interesting tales of his time here. He was doing pretty well until he got onto Bruce. Was wide of the mark with almost everything he said. Absolutely loves Howe. Can’t speak highly enough of him. Lascelles sounds like a hard bastad. Sparking Diame and done Carroll by the sounds of it

The Spurs game. Not just for the goals, the 22 minute blitz or the high standard of finishing. But because I was sat next to a Spurs supporting mate in the Leazes. Who had been giving it some the night before. All hungover as fuck and he had to then get up 5 times in 20 minutes to half applaud a goal Said the story on here before. But I was trying not to hammer him too much. As I couldn’t imagine what that would be like and he is a top lad. But I think at 4-0. Another mate just turned to him and burst out laughing in his face Quite a few round us at 2 or 3 nil realised he was Spurs and joined in with the light piss taking. Whilst also half consoling him.

Isn’t a centre back that can play full back or get converted to being one. No chance.
