Where's he said this? I wonder if he would have admitted this if we didn't win the game. There was a couple of times where I was expecting him to dive in, or do his usual shirt pulling routine and he appeared to be resisting the urge to do so.

Unlike in recent times. We actually have other players that can take advantage should he start to get closer attention. Perez, Sissoko and Wijnaldum are all class with time and space to run into. Teams won't usually be able to limit all 3.

Oh fuck. I can't stop laughing. I find this picture of him absolutely hilarious. I keep looking at it and it gets me every time

This is my biggest worry. People often said that Pardew never got the players fired up for the derby. It was the opposite for me. They all seemed too charged up and reckless. Like the game was talked up as being so important and the manager was such a twat and so aggressive. That they totally lost sight of the actual game of football. We just seemed to go out there like a bunch of lunatics and we didn't have any shape or style of play. Which in fairness, was a common theme under Pardew's tenure. I just remember, even by his standards. Him going into overdrive and spouting off so much shit in the press in the build up to the game. it looked like he did the same with the team talks as well. Carver was the same. But he is actually mentally unstable, so I'm not going to be too harsh on him.

I was saying to my Dad at the start of the game. "We've gone with 4 in midfield, with 2 centre mids as wingers and we have a striker up top that thrives on crosses into the box and service from out wide. Not going to work." Yeah, I was a bit wide of the mark.

I find it hard to bet on, but only done it 4 or 5 times TBF. You get some really shit prices on teams, yet there is usually 1 or 2 in your acca that let you down. Don't like getting into over/under or +/- type bets. So have just picked like an 8 team accumulator in the past and I have always been let down by 1 or 2, some being supposed bankers.

Nice little punt on the NFL last night, a sport I have very rarely bet on in the past and never won money on. £10 free bet that Sky gave me for no apparent reason. Did a 5 selection anytime TD scorer accumulator. Bell, Megatron, Barnidge, Hopkins, Eifert. But did it as a 4 folds bet, which was good, as Bell somehow managed not to score and he was 8/11, the f***er. Returned £78.18 and would have been £00 plus, had Bell found the end zone. Might do this more often for small stakes. As keeps you interested in a few games and I find accas hard to do for win/lose. As there seems to be so many upsets each week and a lot of teams are pretty evenly matched.

Was that not Kinnear? Not sure, I also remember Barton stamping on someone's thigh and there was a media campaign to get him banned That was when Allardyce was in charge. Drew 1-1. Milner scored from a cross and we were utter shite and should have lost. The Richardson free kick was when we lost 2-1, when Kinnear was manager.

I just didn't get what we were going to gain from Cisse, even for 5 minutes. If Mitro needed to come off. Maybe even do it on 80 and not 88. Bring on Thauvin, or even De Jong. Cisse was that embarrassing at West Ham and looks so half arsed. I'd be happy if he never plays for us again. Although, being a typical, fickle football fan. If he scores the winner on Sunday. I might change my mind....

He's a stat padding coward is the truth behind his "putting in a shift" façade. It's just such bollocks. Someone actually wrote something along the lines of "at least he runs around and works hard" in response to someone calling him shit on twitter or FB. He plays centre mid FFS. So he should be running around a fair bit. Can't hide the fact he is slow, shit at tackling and has no idea how to move the ball forward or quickly. Such a ponderous shithouse. A nothing player.
-
Agree with others saying he should have come on. Cisse was a pointless sub. A useless sack of shit, who is past it, hasn't been interested in God knows how long and is more than likely off in the not too distant future. Or a young player you have just invested £12m in. You go with the latter every time, surely? Shouldn't have been Cisse on 88 mins. Should have been Thauvin on 70-75.

Remember that well. Thought it was odd at the time. But everything had been slowing down so much when he got on the ball and I think it was getting a little tight on the right hand side during that passage of play. So him playing a decent, if completely routine pass to the left flank, was suddenly seen as something much better than it actually was. It is funny though. The twitter and FB brigade absolutely love Colback. But he is crucified on here. I lean more towards the 'burn him at the stake, he's a witch' camp. But I can see both sides of the argument, to a point. What I can't stick is people defending him for 'putting a shift in' or 'working hard'.

Those runs he makes into the box are a thing of beauty. Nolan was the last midfielder we had to do it consistently. But he wouldn't be able to leap like Gini or run that fast. Didn't contribute on the ball like Wijnaldum does, either. Going back further, he reminds me of Lee and Speed. Timing his runs to perfection and always looking like a goal threat. This is obviously why so many on here voted him as our best player on that poll. 4 goals from a midfielder, man! Crazy.
-
That goal reminded me of one Martins scored at Blackburn. Oba's was more about ruthless power and just lashing it in. Mitrovic's was far more controlled and classy.

Yet another new manager bounce for them. Against that horrendous walrus looking cunt, Allardyce. I really have a bad feeling about this. After we went 1-0 yesterday, we lost the plot and when Norwich were putting pressure on us, we looked lost. Just worried that with that leaky back 4 and the atmosphere, we'll crumble. If we score first though, despite how we stepped off yesterday. I think we'll win. They have hardly looked creative all season and Allardyce is hardly known for his great attacking sides. Didn't Fletcher go off injured on Saturday as well?

Sorry if SEB (copyright RTG), but has anyone mentioned his post match comments? Very Pardew'esque when speaking about Sissoko. "Easy to see why top 4 clubs want him and why he wants to play in the Champions League. If he plays like that every week, then that's no problem". Or something like that. Kind of thought he may be looking for consistency from him, hence why he mentioned playing like that "every week". As he is so hit and miss, it is unreal. But I still wasn't mad keen on the comments. I fancied us for a big win yesterday, but didn't see us bagging 6. Fair play to McClaren. Needs to kick on now. Shame there isn't another low pressure game coming up and it's the derby next week. As I would fancy us to win well again, if we were playing someone like West Brom or Stoke.

cos nee f***er around him is moving or in space. williamson moved out wide and would receive the ball with a much easier pass to make than anita trying to make a long diagna pass or trying to thread it through 3 or 4 opposition shirts. Logic and common sense obviously aren't TCD's strong points. So it's no surprise he struggled here.
-
As s*** as he was against Watford, he was our best player vs Man Utd and Arsenal! I look forward to posting on here after his hat-trick and our clean sheet tomorrow So he's great in games where we sit deep with a midfield camped in front of him for 90 minutes and where nothing is expected of him or the team. Shit the rest of the time?

Great Order 4.15 Newmarket. Got tipped it at 7/2, yesterday. Only got 2/1 by the time I had a bet though. Around 7/4 now and as short as 11/8.

They're about as smart as Young Kenny was in Phoenix Nights when he wrote the pub quiz answers on his arm, despite not knowing the questions. I can imagine the conversation come May time: "You forgot to read our team out!" "Were you Stevie Mc, Lee and Mike?" "Yeah" "You came twentieth." "Out of how many?" "Twenty." That episode, man. Brilliant. "The answer was The Shroud of Turin" "What did we have?" "Lisa Stansfield"

There was only a gram of urgency about him, that's the problem, St1pey.

Seems like a pathetic attempt at point scoring to suggest Pardew would be doing better than McClaren. Define better? A few more points? Perhaps. Not that it would be that hard But we'd still be utter dross, scraping around the bottom of the league, watching a different, but still absolutely dire brand of football, with no hope of anything better and no long term plan or structure. It's the sort of thing bell ends that get on The Sunday Supplement or Adrian Durham would say "Right. You clueless, deluded Geordies. You hounded out Pardew, who is a great manager. You blamed it all on him and now McClaren isn't doing any better. You owe Pardew an apology. You're a complete and utter embarrassment. Call us now. Calls charged at £5 per minute and you never get through."
-
Summed up my thoughts in one line. As oppose to me waffling on for multiple paragraphs. Fully agree.
-
I don't really have an opinion either way on McClaren, TBH. I don't think he is a good manager, but I am finding it hard to hate him the same way as I hate Pardew and Carver. I think it is because he is actually quite honest and fair in his interviews. He does seem to remain far too cheerful and acts as if nowt is up though. Does he realise the how FUBAR this situation is? The majority of these players are an absolute embarrassment and he is doing nothing to motivate them or get them to play. We don't create chances, we can't score and we conceded goals for fun. Not a great mix is it? I'm not saying he needs to throw them under the bus or massively criticise them in public. But he just doesn't strike me as the sort of manager that could put the fear of god into the players and really get them to buck their ideas up. The whole thing is a fucking mess. Not really arsed what happens from now. As people have mentioned time and again, until Ashley goes, it will be the same old shit, year after year. My expectations are now so low. I'm finding it hard to even feel disappointed or angry about it all anymore.

I agree with this. I hope Mr Yorkie is wrong, mind. I think we should play a pretty strong XI. Just to see if they can get any sort of rhythm going. If we could actually start creating chances and scoring goals, even against lower league opposition. Then maybe that will carry over into the league. Probably wishful thinking. But I just think if we play a weakened team and lose, or barely scrape through. It's not going to do much for morale. http://i.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/tumblr_mi8vazs0td1rjtijmo8_250.gif
