Suspended isn't he? I should probably pay a bit more attention
-
Fair do's but even in the season we finished 5th I put that down to him stumbling on the right formation because of injuries. Never rated him for even one minute, partly because of the Mascherano/Tevez fiasco which made me highly suspicious from day one. Plus he's a massive cunt. We got lucky with players in the form of their lives too. There were a few on here who never bought in despite the results. I know I never really rated McClaren but in the end I was so relieved to be shot of Pardew I was even prepared to give him a chance on the basis that the football couldn't be anywhere near as bad. Which was accurate as it turns out. Both were losers but McClaren's football was definitely easier on the eye. Yeah, I was one of them. This is a post from me in 2012: I agree about McClaren, I didn't want him but thought we might at least get some better football out of it and we did for a while. Neither of them should be anywhere near a PL club at the end of the day, they're just lucky we came along.

I wouldn't call the Sunderland result a good one. They're a terrible team and we should have beaten them handily. Kirchoff was the difference for them and we really should have brought an extra body into the midfield when it became obvious we were getting killed there. Gini pushing forward was leaving Shelvey way too deep and all by himself, an extra midfielder would have allowed him to get forward and influence the game a bit more while also nullifying Kirchof's influence.

I read it as getting 10 for the season, so another 4.

I think he's great, a proper old style centre forward. Ideally he'd be second choice learning his trade from a more experienced main striker but through no fault of his he's ended up being chucked in too early. I think he'll come good, right now he's just raw and young but there's enough there to think he could be a very good player in the future.
-
I don't think he does any press stuff without an ulterior motive. In this case it may be that he wants to take SD private again so he's trying to drive down the share price. The bits about us were just an afterthought and smacks of trying to absolve himself of blame for it all going tits up.

I have to admit i'm not a massive fan of the 4-4-2 we're playing. I think the players we've got are more suited to a 4-2-3-1. Saivet or Tiote sitting giving Shelvey license to get forward. SDJ playing off Mitro and Sissoko and Townsend on their correct sides. I think we'd be much more solid with that and not get so badly overrun in midfield. Perez and Gini on the bench to bring on as impact subs of if we need to change it up a bit.

He could sue them for Jelly beans. Only pink jelly beans though. Pink ones are the shit.

Set us back a fucking decade did those bastards Least you got rid of yours

Maybe Rafa cost £24m and that's where the Berahino money has gone

Orchestrated move to further drive down investor confidence, and the share price, if his intention is to take it private again. He is a gambler without morals, and SD is his baby. Always has been an agent saboteur when he has possessed enough of a stake & boardroom influence (when devaluing companies. He doesn't pull moves like this randomly just for the sake of providing entertainment. As a director of the company he is legally bound in the statements he issues. If he's not telling the truth he'll have lawsuits so far up his arse even Charnley will need a team of Sherpas to read them.

We'd get murdered. Shelvey in a two with Gini leaves us hugely exposed, by himself we might as well just give them a two or three goal start.
-
Such blatant WUMs Wasn't even them, it was their NE correspondent
-
Talksport talking about him now. Reckon we've spent our money badly, pointed out we didn't buy defenders or strikers. Also said Ashley has put £80m of his own money in this season.

Are the U21s really that much of a distraction? Doing cartwheels and playing top trumps at the edge of the pitch or something?
-
It also means we're gonna win the league next season. Yay us.
-
We're screwed if we don't win this. I think we saw against the mackems that a midfield pairing of Gini and Shelvey isn't going to work with Mitro and Perez up top. If we're going with those two in midfield then we need SDJ off Mitro to drop into the space in front of them and help out as needed. I liked him in the role he had on Sunday just floating around helping out where needed and giving an option. Ideally i'd also play Sissoko and Townsend on their correct sides so we have a bit of width and aren't cutting in all the time. If we're sticking with the 4-4-2 i'd go: Blob Janmaat Mbemba Lascelles Anita (assuming no LBs are fit in time) Sissoko Shelvey Saivet / Gini Townsend SDJ Mitro Reckon 1-1. Enough for a sliver of hope but not enough to keep us up in the end.

Isn't chorizo already smoked? Smoke me whatever the sausage is before it's chorizo, alright. The original quote was "Smoke me a kipper...", which is likewise already smoked, so I reckon that's a decent Spanification tbh. Chorizo is not normally smoked. You can get a smoked one but its not that common. It does contain alot of smoked paprika though. Upon reading the wikipedia entry on chorizo I realise that Gorilla is right so Ian's original post was not only erudite and witty but also factually and technically correct. I humbly apologise for my embarrassing lack of knowledge regarding Iberian meat delicacies. I've let myself down and i've let the forum down. On the kipper front, possibly Ace Rimmer enjoys them double smoked or encourages his colleagues to skin up dried smoked fish as a pre breakfast livener.

Probably my favourite NUFC player, the big mad bastard

Yeah, it was just a response to whether or not we could fit all three in the same team, I wouldn't play that formation
