    Jeff Hendrick

I think he’s decent signing for nowt but I’m not sure about his goal threat after reading this! In four seasons with Burnley, Hendrick played 9,039 minutes across 122 Premier League appearances, scoring nine times (at a rate of 0.1 goals per 90 minutes) and assisting on five occasions (0.05 assists per 90 minutes). He averaged just a single shot per 90 minutes, 0.2 of which were on target, created 0.7 chances per game and enjoyed a passing accuracy of 77.7 per cent. Joelinton gets 0.07 goals per 90 minutes.
  2. Also, if you want something to listen to while you're driving, get 'Gibbos Corner' from the Chronicle podcasts. It's like having your granda sat in the car telling you stories
  3. He’s 31 a month after the season starts and never scored more than 7. Which barring Carrolls purple patch before moving to Liverpool and is still better than the rest of our current strike force combined. Totally prepared to be corrected but wasn't it something like Muto 2, Joelinton 2, and Almiron 3? And that's only if you see Almiron as a striker, but i always thought he was more of an attacking midfielder. Wow that's properly grim That aside, he did ok in the post lockdown matches, got a few goals which mattered, but still shouldn't be first choice for any respectable PL side It's not a problem, the defence will keep bagging loads of goals this season so we're grand.
  4. Just in case anyone is like me and likes to listen to podcasts in the car but doesn't have a wifi enabled ipad or whatever I found this swedish site where you can download the pod on the tyne podcast (the apple and other sites don't seem to let you download it). https://podtail.se/sv/podcast/pod-on-the-tyne-a-show-about-newcastle-united/
  5. Did they put two heads together to make him?
  6. Aye, depth doesn't just mean lots of people
  7. It's another get out of jail free card for the Sultan of Steak Bakes though. Do well and it's down to his management, do badly and it'll be 'what can you expect with an owner who doesn't care and won't invest?'.
  8. Dunno what you're all worried about. We can definitely expect our defenders to score 50% of our goals in the first half this season, no problem.

    Sunderland

That’s how I remember it too, especially early on. I have this memory of Tottenham sending out absolute no-name potatoes the first season it ran. I don’t know how many other clubs ever took it seriously...? That's a great turn of phrase
  10. It doesn't bode well when they pull such incredibly dumb shit though. Got the Saudis etc out of the news though so mission accomplished I suppose.
  11. 100% definitely not. It's gone quiet, but there's no way Staveley, Reuben's and PIF have completely walked away. Not a chance. My personal belief is this PR exercise regarding the new takeover rumours is an attempt to push PIF to get back to the table and offer the PL what they want. I can understand the logic but personally, I think it's just wishful thinking and that it's quiet because there's nothing more to be said. In saying that, there is the NUST meeting with the PL which should be interesting to hear about. Seemingly it’s a meeting with supporters trusts of another 5 or 6 clubs primarily to talk about getting fans back in to stadiums. I suspect any NUST questions about the takeover will be batted away Think the PL have agreed to talk about it. I fully support the trust and what they've done so far is magnificent but I can't see them getting any more than a standard PR fluff brush off in this meeting.

    Isaac Hayden

Aye, leave him alone. He's been decent for us and seems like a good lad. Nothing wrong with letting him have a little sit down once a game.
  13. They're photoshopping pictures of them with Obama, claiming they have 10,000 private jets and putting in bids they know full well won't be accepted. Fair enough, anything is better than Ashley but there's a bunch of red flags going up here.
  14. Their entire online persona was created in the last 2 months and almost all of it was just written by themselves. They claim to have 10,000 private jets. I work in aviation all around the world - they don't, I've never heard of them. The tweet claiming all these jets used shutterstock imagery rather than one of their supposed 10,000 private planes, seems they like I couldn't even find 1 of them. The woman looks like she did at some point meet Obama at some function or other, but they've taken legitimate photos of her and him and photoshopped others in and into different locations. It just screams "dodgy as fuck" and "publicity stunt". Clearly just a bunch of penniless chancers and by the looks of what they've done so far, borderline fraudsters. Or at the very least, fantacists. Let people believe in the fraudsters man, stop being so negative. Oi Oi, he's clocked there's a lass in charge
  15. Look on the bright side, if they do succeed then at least we'll have some new people to try and hound out after a couple of disappointing seasons of nothing.
  16. Alright, let's see if they up the offer when Ashley tells them to fuck off. I won't hold my breath.
  17. Or if they've got no intention of actually buying the club and are looking to drum up a bit of free publicity for their newly formed business. It's Ashley's low-ball 'we tried' move all over again.
