  2. He’s the best midfielder in the world for me. We just don’t hear much of him because he isn’t Jude Bellingham or playing for one of the Sky 6. Also doesn’t help La Liga has next to no (legal) coverage in the UK these days. Convinced if Sky still had La Liga there’d be a lot more noise about him. Love watching footballers like him, they play the game in slow motion.
  3. Understatement this. He was fucking incredible. Thought he was the best player on the pitch by some distance.
  4. My fault lads. Was wishing Isak to blow his knee out for the past month or so. Sorry.
  5. Is it not the same ankle he had bother with since the u21 tournament in 2023?

I love London me like. It’s class on the piss for aways (and with your Mrs). Obviously if you know where you’re going. Wouldn’t want to live there mind, but I doubt the footballers are going into Central London much.
  7. Aye it was shite until about then. Coincided with a certain Italian going in the middle.
  8. Oh aye, which is partly the reason the anfield rat should have went for slightly more if you ask me. Those dropped points could = millions come May. If we miss out on CL by a point or two it will really sting.
  9. I'm no expert, but you'd have to think given we have spent a net about £70m maybe? The Isak fee this year then the CL money to go on next years figures, we should be right up until 27 at the very earliest I think. The wage bill probably has increased a little, but I doubt by astronomical amounts. They're probably hoping Sanusi/Cordero have good loan spells so they can sell for a decent wedge. I don't agree with the ethics of that at all, but it's what the other teams who have such a strong PSR position are really good at. I was disappointed we pulled the plug on Osula for the same reason, though I do get why Howe wanted to keep him. I suspect we had something lined up that didn't quite come off.
  10. Garbage. Weren't we like 12th or something after Brentford turned us over in December? Even when we got 7 from 9 to start the season, we were piss poor in all 3 games. Whereas this year we've been class & meh (Leeds) in 3 games and have 2 pts Football man...
  11. Hope it fails miserably but I have no idea how they will make it work. You don't sign a £130m player to rotate really (which Carragher pointed to the other week). I think Ekitike wide left will not only waste him slightly but will also leave Kerkez very, very vulnerable. Wirtz has to fit in there somewhere too. They've a very top heavy side for sure. Not much balance whatsoever.
  12. Pope, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Tino, Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton, Elanga, Wissa, Barnes S: Ramsdale, Hall, Botman, Thiaw, Ramsey, Willock, Miley, Murphy, Woltemade
  13. I do wonder how much the tragic death of Jota kick started the chain of events that eventually led to the anfield rat going there. I just doubt their plan was to sign Ekitike AND the anfield rat in the same window. Maybe it was like, but their forwards don't look very balanced to me.
  14. Botman is (was) our best centre half like, but it obviously remains to be seen if he's still the same player from 22/23. 2-3 years is a long time in football, and he certainly shouldn't be ousting Burn on current form.
  15. Barton still gets a lot of love from our gammon fans for sure. Much like the rest of the country. Ashley, Bruce, Isak. I actually despised Pardew when he was here, like really bad. Used to actively want us to lose games which I know is wrong and ridiculous. But, I have warmed the this summer as he seems to have flew the flag a couple of times. He's been demoted from my Mt Rushmore (for now). 4th would probably be Barton or perhaps Michael Owen. Kinnear deserves a shout out too.
  16. Personally don’t see much problem in him liking a post, but he could have read the room with his actual post like. He’d have seen the clubs statement and how the fans have reacted all summer. Not a wise move but at the end of the day, it is his mate.
  17. Is a fucking pisstake the cheeky fucker had the nerve to get his hair cut ready for his big day Be my last post in this thread until I find out his right legs in two or his hamstrings detached from the bone. Me Granda bought a bottle of whiskey years ago and saved it for when Thatcher popped her clogs, I took the bottle from his when he died. I’ll have the rest when Isak gets seriously hurt. Worst of luck, you big gangly tit.
  18. I voted 5 or 6. Can’t remember. Might be harsh but the Isak thing just left a sour taste. We’ve literally applied the lube ourselves for Liverpool to bugger us - not once, but twice. Think there’s question marks over every signing we’ve made, whether for the price, fitness record or actual talent. That being said, I’ve no doubt they’ll end up all being a resounding success as we have been pretty impeccable with signings since the takeover. At one point it was definitely 1/10, but credit to the club for turning it round and doing some business towards the end of the window. It’s a shame we had to settle for targets lower down our list but seemingly they all jumped at the chance to come and you can’t ask for much more than that. Also a bit shite that the majority of them didn’t get to work with the squad over summer too, but we will learn from that and hopefully a CEO and Sportint Director can only help from that perspective. I’ll be shocked if we qualify for the Champions League again next season but it won’t be the end of the world if we don’t. The Isak fee should give us a couple of years (at least) of wiggle room from a PSR perspective, I think anyway. It seems like we’re entering phase II of Howe’s Newcastle and when the dust settles after what’s been a tricky, tiresome summer, we will all be excited again. Next up Saturday 3pm at home to Wolves then Barcelona coming to town. It doesn’t get much better than that.
  19. No need to post shit like that to be fair. Yes, I’m like a jilted lover. But definitely in favour of locking this fucker until he snaps his leg.
  20. I've thought about this a lot Watch the first half, fast forward to just after Chiesa scores. Job done.
  21. I think the only sure ones are Isak and Guehi tbh, and I think £165m for that pair is fantastic in fairness. Kerkez will probably come good too and Ekitike has started well, though it remains to be seen what his role will be now. The jury is out on Wirtz, not even based on his first 4 games but I was always a bit dubious, especially given the price tag. I can't see Frimpong doing much in a back 4. It matters not, though. Even if Wirtz or Ekitike flop, they can just buy the new in-thing in 3 years time for another 9 figure sum. They are brilliant sellers mind. Some of the coin they get for bog standard shit is amazing.
  22. I'm not sure how they will accommodate him, Wirtz & Ekitike in the same side. I've seen suggestions of playing Ekitike off the left but that would be suicidal with Kerkez behind him. Don't get me wrong it's a lovely - but expensive - problem to have, but I don't know. I'm sure he will score of course. When he's hot, he's very hot. But equally, he is an absolute waster when he can't be arsed, which actually is fairly often. I do think his ego caught up with him a little over the last 12 months or so, but his performances from Aug-Dec and then from March-May last season were not that of a £130m player. He won't fail, but I doubt he ever reaches the levels say Salah has there - as in around about 30 goals a season, every season (more or less).
  23. I mean this just makes the Isak deal seem incredible all of a sudden £160m for the pair is class business. Will need another body now though for sure.
