Only played 30 games in total in his career- 28 in 21/22 and 2 last season. Looked good for those 28 games though.

Was class when he was fit, but he’s just had 392 days out injured- only played for the first time again at the end of this May. No one knows if he’s recovered to the same ability as he previously showed. £15m is about right imo- much more than that and I’d be throwing it at Fresneda instead.

Man City supposedly have a number of clauses with Lavia- They can match any bid, they also have a buyback clause, as well as a sell-on clause of 20 per cent. The buy back clause only activates in 2024, apparently.

To throw it in there, we don’t even know if it’s Howe specifically that likes McTominay, or the others in the transfer committee. Or even if any of them do and it’s just made up shite from Manchester or McTominays agent.

I’d read recently that we were up to nearly 95% wages to turnover. That, plus increases for Bruno etc, doesn’t sound very healthy, considering Amanda said the wage bill needed reducing drastically last year. Know we’ll have increased wriggle room with higher turnover, but buying players from top 5 leagues/CL teams will need to be carefully managed (which I’m aware the club will do, but it’s still a big consideration regarding all these potential signing names).

It’s more the wages being an issue I think. Increased sponsorship and getting rid of certain players will naturally help, but it’ll still need reducing short term to comply with future regulations.

I’m waiting for them to beat us to the McTominay signing, personally.

He’s played 23 PL games this season and 37 this season in total. Bit more than a fringe player, I’d have thought? Suggests he’d go for more than the fictitious £20m quoted also.

There’s no way McTominay would go for £20m. He has another two years left on his contract (June 2025) with a years option on top. He’s a home grown academy player, and they would have to replace him with someone much pricier.

To be fair, we’re already going down this route with our official energy drink partner and official hair transplant partner. ?

Talk of them keeping him and trying to get rid of bigger earners I think. Plus he’s HG, young etc. Can see him being a squad member there next season.

So much for their new ‘buy French’ policy.

Not to mention giving money to a rival who will undoubtedly spend it on a better replacement.
