Comments here suggest so. -“But people wank him off because he has "fighting spirit" which I assume means running around like a headless chicken constantly hiding from the ball chasing shadows and when he does get the ball, gets dispossessed right away.” -“Happened with the lad against us too. English football culture needs to lose the mentality that kicking the shit out of players out of frustration is a good thing.” -“Who would be interested in this guy if he were to be let go by United. I've said it many a time, these are the sorts of players United need to get rid of, he's noway near the required standard.” -“If Everton do go down he can go there and find his level” -“Genuinely watch him, it's almost like he purposefully hides behind opposition players to avoid the ball. He can't be that stupid.” etc etc…

Wiley has half the number of MLS appearances Davies achieved at the same age, and hasn’t got a senior international appearance to his name. Davies played and scored for Canada aged 16. As you know, Davies is an unreal player. In all honesty, I’ve never heard of Wiley, but he doesn’t seem to be anywhere near.

An unproven 18 year old from the MLS? For the youth team, sure.
-
It was a very tenuous link, naming Davies as a ‘type of profile’ we’d want: “Writing in his latest column for CaughtOffside, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs says that Davies has ‘peaked’ Ashworth’s ‘interest’ ahead of this summer, with Howe valuing a ‘young, speedy and dynamic’ player at left-back: “I also think Newcastle would prefer, as priority, a left-back. Eddie Howe values a young, speedy and dynamic kind of player in that position. The modern full-back can almost be confused with a winger at times. That’s why a profile like Bayern’s Alphonso Davies has peaked sporting director Dan Ashworth’s interest.””

Financial opinion- how much it’d cost to sack Cunty
-
Cracking player, but I’d rather we find our own Gnonto for the £4m fee that he cost Leeds, rather than give them £40-60m that they’d probably want now.
-
Yep, hence why it’s likely he’ll be ‘banned’ over the summer months when it’s negligible
-
Yeah, I wasn’t impressed either. Was supposed to be decent prior to it though, I think. edit- we were linked prior, and not since the WC
-
Alex Grimaldo, Kieran Tierney, Ferland Mendy, Fran Garcia, Borna Sosa off the top of my head….been linked with a fair few LBs in the last couple of months
-
Real possibly, but why would he go back to Germany?
-
Goaaaalll!!!! 3-3! and Leeds winning 4-2.
-
Pen to Southampton!
-
Simply can’t see us paying the wages he wants. Why leave Chelsea to earn less money with us than they’ve offered him?

Fully deserved. -
Direct from a goal kick?

Burdened the club with unheard of levels of debt when initially purchasing them. They take yearly profits out of the club to line their own pockets when prior to their arrival, all profits were put back into the club to put towards transfers etc.
-
With your teeth if necessary. I know the term ‘cunt’ gets bandied about a fair bit, but this prick ticks every box for me.
-
Doubt it. The togetherness of the squad (despite some not getting the game time they want) has been a key factor in the relative success of this season. Any disruption of that by a dickhead would be a major blow.
-
Don’t disagree about price or competitors. Just that we’d be interested and that we have been for a while. It’s only natural to be wanting the best players. Our best time was last summer though, I think, when we probably could’ve bid under the radar, so to speak.
-
I genuinely think we’d have enquired, as he fits the profile exactly. Whether we actually bid or not, who knows. If he was genuinely available and to be transferred, we’d be stupid not to even enquire.
-
We’ve been ‘in’ for him for a couple of years now- there’s always been rumours about our interest. Whether he’d come is another question, given the other clubs likely to be interested. “with reports suggesting Newcastle have seen a previous approach for the 24-year-old turned down” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-napoli-victor-osimhen-transfer-26424194.amp edit- quick google search shows plenty of rumours about a possible €100m bid being made by us last year for him.
-
Gavi on a free? Apparently his league registration is being invalidated by La Liga and therefore cancelling his Barca contract.
-
Hmmm….don’t think so, sadly.
-
Several classes above RBL- they’re total shit here.

Oh. Definitely me then! ??♂️?
