If we show that we mean business early on I think we might have some luck. If we can smash in a top striker, Trippier and Botman early for example it should be easier to get top players. If we fail to make a statement early on I can see a lot of players being reluctant.

Honestly we already fought a relegation battle with Wijnaldum in the team. Eventually he was one of many very talented players we went down with. I remember him shying away from challenges against shite teams and letting Sunderland for example win the midfield battle by being a coward. He wasn't what we needed then in the prime of his youth and supposedly everything to prove. I don't think he is the one we want to give a last pay-day now. Another Michael Owen situation in the making putting himself before the team is bound to happen. I would steer well clear.

I'd be lying if I said I'd have seen any of the 3 play. They are just big names to me. I still think if the finances are as massive as they might be, we are still going to be able to sign great players. It won't be every players cup of tea to come here. But if you offer to double the salary of a top player from say 100k to 200k, some are still going to come with the promise of a better team being created eventually. Most maybe don't want to yet because of the situation we are in, it's really annoying we didnt get the takeover before the season started.

I think we have been playing very well today too. Pressing is good. You can see the improvements to Fraser and Joelinton in particular. At the end of the day Cancelo/Sterling/ De Bruyne etc will be better in the final front. And our shite players keep making stupid mistakes at the back.

I think in the start VAR was too fair on the non-top 6 teams. So they found a way around it. Lets not re-referee games. In effect this rule exists so thgat the referee can blow at anfield when Salah starts rolling, and use the excuse that it wasn't an obvious error. If the same happens for us against Man City the referee won't blow. And the excuse given is its not an obvious error. Absolutely corrupt.

Serioulsy pissing me off. The coverage tried to find a good angle to make it not look like a foul and completely failed. Salah/Maddison/Sterling would roll until the referee blew.
