Feels like the referees are just being bad on purpose at the moment, and only if them being blatantly and obviously wrong in a big situation do we get the right call with VAR (maybe). I counted at least 3-4 stonewall yellow cards on Wolves players deliberately stopping a counter attack like the Trippier's supposed "red card" challenge and nothing happens.

How many yellows should Wolves have had at this point?

Was the same against City. Clear penalty not checked but they figure out something else to waste VAR-time on.

Missing Bruno so much. We have 3 midfielders who are excellent at pressing, not so much at sliding passes through. Schar and Trippier effectively our playmakers now. It wouldn't be so bad if Shelvey wasnt out too. Obviously having Wood up top is making it even more painful. I think 2-0 is more likely than us getting a goal. So toothless apart from Maxi.

Thought we controlled the game really well and very interested to see us against better opposition. Could possibly breeze past Brighton or get a little wake-up call about how shit Forest are, but I think we will do Brighton as well. Almiron is so efficient now that Howe has taught him how to run in the correct directions, predict his value to soar this season. Schär has to be the main man at the back for us, the question should be who starts with him. I do think one problem we are going to have against these sorts of sides is the lack of finishers though, especially from range. Pretty much all of our attackers and midfielders seem unable to fire in a Bullet shot like Schär did. I even include Wilson in that. Shelvey, Longstaff and Trippier are the only other players not really suffering from shooting like they have a pillow on their foot, Willock especially annoyed me today. There was a big question on Maxi whether he could be a Howe player, and im thinking he will prove that he can be mostly. Did well in decision-making, and worked a lot harder than last season. He's made a couple of poor passes/touches but so has Bruno, always gonna happen when you're that involved.

Joelinton looks like that overgrown kid who grew too fast and can bully everyone else, Almiron looks like a 17-year old playing against pensioners. We are controlling it but we do lack a bit against the sides who just sit back. Almirons running is very effective with Bruno's passes but the balls he puts in has to be better.

Very happy with that team, if Howe wants to do a bit of Bruno and let Botman settle in slowly i trust him to know better than me.

It's just that Liverpool tend to get away with it, whereas Joe actually gets booked.

The thing I'm gonna hate watching the most about Liverpool this season is the 5 subs i think. They always get away with repetitive fouling and yellow cards. After Fabinho should have had 3 yellows he will just get subbed off for milner.

Happy with top 10-ish and progression in how we play. That being said I fully believe we have the best management team in the league at least outside the top 2. And I think we could sneak into a European competition. Whether its getting 6th (7th doesn't give anything?), or through a cup. That would be my goal this year if I was Howe.

Exactly what I think I'd start with, with 5 subs i like Willock coming off the bench for longstaff fairly early. Think Willock is more likely to be more effective with fresh legs with his pace. Also think Schar has to start. Best passer in the team when Shelvey is out and so good at taking us from back to front in one move.
