  1. They haven't been anywhere near since the opening minute. I can't see them being too arsed in the second half either. I think we're going to have to rely on us winning...
  2. Had almost zero faith in us winning today but dropping the only player that's really looked quality this season is crazy. Regardless of whatever league we end up in I hope he has absolutely no part in any role at the club. It's laughable.

The nerves are starting to kick in now with a strong desire to not be in the Championship by the end of the day. I don't care how we manage to stay up today, just as long as it's done.
  4. Dat mid-table. Man, if we get someone half decent we might even get as high as eighth. f***ing hell, as long as we avoid europe and the cups and anything designed to incite even the vaguest spark of excitement we might be able to get paid play in the bestest league in the world for years. I'm positively jizzing. If you guaranteed me 3 more seasons of midtable finishes and no cup runs or relegation and eff knows what... i'd take the relegation. Yep, absolute no-brainer. Ambition to get out of the Championship or mundane seasons of nothingness in the Premier League. Give me the Championship any day. I kind of meant in more in the sense that it isn't unrealistic for a half decent manager to come in and achieve that hence we wouldn't be so untouchable as a football club as some people would imagine rather than the 'I want to be a safe-midtable premier league club that has no ambition'.
  5. This opinion might be a little optimistic and bases entirely on hope but I don't think we're such an ugly prospect for a young manager with ambition. Assuming we stay up Mike will have to spend some decent money even just to get the club back to a safe midtable position. I also don't think the squad is too bad, we've just been left woefully under staffed with a group of coaches with absolutely no tactical know how. If you look at all of the other relegation contenders there's not many from those squads who you'd think will definitely be on the move in the summer. Even if you just take a few players from the squad like Krul, Tiote, Perez, Cabella, Sissoko and Janmaat we have a fairly talented core of players that have performed at two or three times the level of what they're currently producing. Couple that with that fact that if we do stay up we will have an absolutely abhorrent points total while producing some of the most turgid ineffective football going. It wouldn't be too hard for someone to come in who has even the slightest element of tactical know how and make themselves look very impressive. Obviously this is solely dependent on staying up and Mike spending to keep us in the league next year. Neither are certainties.
  6. Thinking of skipping the middle man entirely for this and just streaming the Hull v Man u game. I'm not sure if it'll be worse for the nerves or not.
  7. I couldn't watch the match today and by the looks of it I was lucky. I had the radio on in the 2nd half and it sounded as bad as it gets. This is going to be an awful week leading up to that final game. Sitting, praying for Hull to fail to beat Man u in the final game because we know we wont have the stones to do it ourselves is such a sorry state of affairs.
  8. Same! I think it's because most people think we're safe now and Hull will go down. It'll be just like us to go down there and get absolutely walloped leaving an awful final week of the season.
  9. Until we know what league we're in next season I'm finding it hard to give any proper thought of who would take the job here and do well. I just hope if we stay up it isn't dragged out for weeks on end all the while hearing the usual stalling tactics they usually employ in transfer windows. I definitely don't want Moyes, I've seen that name mentioned a lot lately. I just hope whoever it is he isn't a massively underwhelming appointment, we need something to get behind for a change.
  10. He was. The defence was actually better than it usually is with our first choice picks. I don't know whether it's coincidence but our ball retention always appears to be far better with him in the side.

There's too many mental results at this end of the season. Hull look down in theory but you just know they'll sly some points somewhere. I'm hoping QPR get walloped today, go into some sort of Newcastle-like meltdown and can't be arsed to play us if they're already down.
  12. I thought we played well in phases. Cisse looked even more clapped out that Riviere when he came on which was to be expected I guess and Sissoko was missing for a lot of the game but we pushed as hard as I've seen us play for a win lately. Some of the players looked like they were shitting themselves as much as I was mind. Cabella, Perez and Anita were the standout players for me.
  13. I can't remember a more flukey result that this one. The writing is on the wall for us unless we can somehow win today.
  14. I don't know whether to watch this or completely stay away from all of the results until 5pm. The problem with latter being the anticipation leading up to putting the text on is unreal and also crushing if things don't go our way. I'm holding out hope everything goes the opposite of what we're expecting and we pull out a shock comfortable win.
  15. Definite no. I can't see anything else other than us getting relegated and when it happens I'll be devasted. We'll be stuck with him and I see no positive or likely circumstance that anything wouldn't be other than tragic.
  16. I think someone would definitely take Cabella and I've got a feeling after a year getting a feel for the league if he made the right move he could do very well. Surely Everton or Southampton would be interesting in taking him for what would probably be half of what we paid? Perez, Armstrong and Riviere wouldn't be the worst striking options for that league either. We'd still need about 4 defenders and someone who could play as a right winger.
  17. How will it be better is we stay up? I guess my perspective is based entirely on hope rather than expectation but surely the likelihood for Ashley finding a buying for a club with a £250m personal debt owed to him will be far more likely if we're a Premier League club? Is it even possible anyone would be crazy enough to buy us in that situation if we're stuck in the Championship or potentially worse? Does anyone really want to be watching us in the Championship also? It worked wonders for us last time and I enjoyed it but that was probably exclusively because we won almost every game. There's no guarantee we'd come back up first time or even how bad it could be for us if we go down. We're already being widely ridiculed as a club from top to bottom, getting relegated is only going to make us look like bigger bellends for everyone to scoff at. For me if we stay up there's still hope things could be fixed, I don't see how going down would solve anything.
  18. For all I think the whole situation and this cringe-worthy open letter is a shambles, I do agree with it's sentiment and I don't get why people would want us to get relegated. The team is going to need massive support in the home games to give us even a hope of staying up. They don't deserve it, Mike doesn't deserve the record tv money but absolutely no situation will be better if when we go down.
  19. Every day there seems to be something that makes our situation that little bit worse. Not only should he have been starting games now he's exactly the type of player we should be building the midfield around in a Championship season.

It's almost impressive the amount of nothing that happens at this club when we really need it to yet it rarely gets highlighted in the media. They're the masters at making it almost believable that they're doing something.

    Steve McClaren

Final nail in the coffin for our Premier League survival in my opinion. It would have been a massive risk but I think we'd have got a least three points if McClaren had taken over.

A few murmurs in the papers this morning we approached him after the weekends defeat. That sounds a little bit too much like a positive action to rectify our downfall by the muppets in charge but I'd be even more surprised if he took it. It's practically career suicide. Imagine after the fall he had with Derby then taking us down? He'd be hard pushed to get another job. I personally think it's him or relegation for us mind.
  23. I'd be surprised if it's true and I'd be even more surprised if Luke Edwards knew anything about it. He takes every opportunity to smash the club and claim he was right about something since they banned him. I really can't stand the bloke regarding the way he went on with that whole Cabaye incident. Once he was sold he practically had every tweet dedicated to how right he was.
  24. I've just stupidly watched our game on motd after spending most of yesterday afternoon in a massive sulk. Watching Phil Neville now droning on about us isn't helping today's prospects. I thought on first viewing yesterday Janmaat's second yellow was a harsh one and after seeing it again I think he's been unlucky. If he doesn't have a booking i doubt he would have had a first yellow for that. I'm wholly relying on Hull and Sunderland not getting anymore points for the rest of the season but I just can't see it happening.
