  1. I know prices are mental at the minute but £45m for him as he’s got 2 years left on his contract seems pretty fair. I can’t see them going for it mind.
  2. Weird how none of these twitter accounts and journalists didn’t have a clue about the Maddison bid and now seemingly everyone knows something about how much we’re prepared to go and if Leicester will sell.
  3. Maddison would improve us immeasurably. I can’t see Leicester selling mind. I can’t see him going for it either given he’s been on the verge of a Champions League move for a while.
  4. There doesn’t seem to be any concrete links to Cornet and my Twitter feed is full of fans talking about the potential signing. Is there anything in this or are we collectively all that desperate for rumours to talk about?
  5. I’m probably guilty of this.
  6. CHO for me. We’re lacking a proper right winger and he’s showed real promise at times.
  7. Given they way we’ve played this is a pretty big blow for the start of the season. I wonder if he’ll play Bruno deeper?
  8. Well this is amazing by West Ham.
  9. Has he mostly played RW in pre-season then? I haven’t watched any of the games.
  10. Edwards straight in with the negative twist on the story. It’s possible he’s impressed in training rather than it being transfer related. If the decision has been made so far away from the window ending it suggests that to me. Loans often don’t happen until the end.
  11. Werner would be massive for us. If it’s at all possible we should be all over it. He’s never fitting our wage structure but he’d be the perfect long-term successor and striker for our project. If we signed him and got a winger on loan it would be an unbelievable window.
  12. I know I’m not the only one in here but I’m desperate for some new, reliable rumours today.
  13. Same. I watched a lot of French football the season before Arsenal bought him and was convinced he’d be a really top level Premier League player. He’s then flopped massively at Arsenal but shown glimpses every now and again. If we could get him for less than £20m I think it would be a risk worth taking. Him and ASM on opposite flanks could be both devastating and disastrous but I’d be up for seeing it ?
  14. Great servant to the club but arguably should have been moved on two seasons ago. I hope he does well and expect him to bang loads of goals in next season.
  15. Lampard throwing players under the bus and shifting blame away from himself in pre-season is something I’d be really worried about if I was an Everton fan. That said, I hope they’re shit again.
  16. Isn’t he on really crazy wages at Villa?
  17. I guess for me as long as we’re improving every season then we’re showing ambition that we haven’t seen for years. 8 games into last season not only did we look stone wall relegated we looked like a club that was finished. Since January we’ve improved the overall squad quality massively. We’ve started this summer well. The board structure is ambitious and evolving. If we finish this window without signing another player I’d be disappointed but factually we’d be stronger than last season. I still think we’ll add another couple of signings before deadline day.
  18. I’d rather the club took this approach even if that means it takes longer to build into the club we want to be. If we’re caving paying over the odds for good Premier league players we’ll have to cave and pay over the odds for elite level ones if we ever get there. I think it reflects worse on a club when you pay over the odds and they turn out to be shite. Look at the state of Everton. They over paid for average players and are now shackles with ffp. As a fan base we need to enjoy the process rather than whinging about each deal that doesn’t come off.
  19. Aulas doesn’t seem like the cut-price, cashing in type to me. Especially considering it’s a World Cup year. Paqueta could be worth a fortune in the January window if he has a good tournament.
  20. Saw Hope’s tweet about Harrison also looking unlikely given their reluctance to sell. It always seemed a weird one to me given they’ve sold their best players for a ton of money - it never seemed like it would be an easy deal to do considering he was the backup choice to Diaby.
  21. Definitely Sarr for me.
  22. There’s people on this forum who think ASM is shite.
  23. I think you’ve just changed my opinion. I think it’s all the budget on Isak that seemed daft to me as he’d be competing with Wilson who’s one of our strongest players. I think if it was for Paqueta or Diaby I’d be all for it .
  24. Would rather 2 good purchases than one really expensive, relatively high risk one.
