So...apart from featuring for the National Team, what are the other avenues for him to attain a work permit?

Villa playing like Newcastle - 100 miles an hour, gegenpressing, blocking off all passing channels even at the 90th minute.
-
It was Joelinton indeed - in the reverse angle replays you can see Big Joe picking himself off the floor (having fallen down in playing the pass) whilst Almiron advances, and Bruno comes in from deeper and further left, behind the referee. From 9:36 in this video.

Wor Eddie definitely learned something from his sabbatical at Athletico . Top notch shithousery.

Uruguay's squad reveal video is class.

The Perrone link seems much more "new" Newcastle United than the Eden Hazard one a couple days back - relative unknown, young, high ceiling.
-
And I can bet good money that Joelinton called to congratulate right after, and everyone else on the team texted messages, apart from Miggy, who probably sent a totally random gif.
-
Disappointing seeing as how an underperforming Fred and a crocked Paqueta still made the 26.

Started and finished the move too. His tenacity is one of his best traits. Someone else (Son, or Kane, or Havertz) would've taken a dive when Maitland-Niles did the doggystyle barge in the box, but Miggy just kept his eye on the ball, skipped over him and very calmly slotted it home. Absolute baller.

Aging former superstars is very much the opposite of what Newcastle United would be looking at moving forward, methinks. Lazy journalism tropes include "Newly minted Newcastle is looking at [aging overpaid former superstar]", and "Newcastle United had better watch out as Big Clubs X & Y are circling around their best player.'. In the first instance, we now make superstars, and clearly want to be run sustainably. In the second, we are now very much a Big Club. The journos are still lagging behind and assume we're run by Mike fucking Ashley.

https://dubz.co/v/twxjm8 Look at the celebrations. Everyone was so happy for him The absolute best thing about the resurgence. Everyone is united as a team and fighting for one another. It's fucking amazing.

The only hope we have is that Leicester need to sell to buy, and that they can cash Maddison and Tielemans in for maximum return in January. I wouldn't mind either, and I feel that at least one of the two will be sold in January.

What a lush experience it must be, to watch a football match in the sunshine in a beautiful coastal city. Garang looks like such a sweet, introverted kid. I really hope we integrate him into the squad and settle him in properly here. Such a talent.

Tell you something - Jacky Grealish has got to muster up some hidden reserves of mental fortitude to not be affected by the endless ribbing he will receive for his comments. Never heard of a backfire so profound and so delicious.

You know you've made it in football when you've got your own compilations video on Youtube. Also - he has scored with his right foot before!

The close-up celebrations after every goal brought tears to my eyes, like, so much positivity. Add to that Jacob Murphy still absolutely buzzing when heading back into the dressing room ("COME AANNN!!" to nobody in particular) and a few shots of a very tidy blonde in the stands. Absolutely the best match cam. I can't get enough of this.

I remember when Coutinho was linked with us in January, and someone asked @Village Idiothow he was performing at Barcelona. The response was Coutinho was performing as if "something had sucked the soul out of him.". Stuck in my mind, that description, and very apt for how he has been playing of late - the skills are there, he just can't seem to be bothered anymore.
-
What was Tite doing seated in the stands? Whilst Southgate gets to hobnob with the owners. I hope he really got a good view of Joelinton's quality and picks him for Brazil, man, imagine that redemption arc!

You don't see it on slo-mo replays, but the corner routine that led to Wilson's second goal was magic. Miggy materialises on the touchline, Trippier passes it to him, Miggy brings it back inside a little while Tripps runs towards him at first but then dinks to the right whilst Miggy does that backheel. The replays only show the final ball to Wilson. But it was a clever, and very slick move. Almiron offers so much more to the way we play than just his outrageous goals - his relationship with Trippier and Bruno is almost telepathic. That's what great coaching does.

Not just us dipping our feet in the "teenage South American talent" pool, then. Wonder if it's Brighton taking inspiration from us, or the other way round. Looks a tidy player.

Happened last year, happening again this year, will happen again. We just have to get used to the fact that our association with the Middle East will draw vilification from there whenever we do something progressive. I like it that we are staying the course, as we should. Comments like "God will make us lose our next game." Fuck off you troglodyte - you're not a fan and I hope we play out of our skin to make you shove that comment up your arse.
