I was thinking that Spurs team could go far with Conte then realised Dier is part of it and no matter if he scores and no matter if everyone says he has played well I'm sorry you don't win anything with Dier in a squad
-
I think he has matured, but I don't buy that he always was just needing service. Our championship season with Rafa he had every opportunity to take by the scruff of the net. No doubt he and rafa not perfectly matched but he was played when Gayle was injured, whole squad focused round him as focal point and he couldnt hit a barn door. I think he has matured and we got him too soon unfortunately.

If Mitrovic can do what he did in championship and not make any fuss finishing he can do very well. I do feel agrieved when people think we mistreated him. He always clearly had a player in him but he had plenty of chances and just went to absolute shit all the time. Same first time in premier league with fulham.

I doubted some saying he should play out wide as alternative to Almiron but he seemed to be drifting wide to those spaces as Almiron came inside. Maaaybe.
-
I had similar worry kinda but remember we have actual coach now who may try and teach players and help them understand tactical roles not just throw them on randomly

Mad how much of this guys career was in lower leagues. Really weird how that happened you would think he would stick out like a sore thumb for more than his ridiculous height. I guess most scouts saw he was really tall and thought there's classic lower league clogger defender
-
They were rubbish to be fair, it's not the greatest gauge of our level. I got really frustrated at the media reaction to our hammering of arsenal last season though, when all the talk was how bad arsenal were when they were far better than forest here, and we played really really well like today. We played how I want us to play, we were aggressive, pressed effectively controlled the game. You can't ask more, and if we play like that every game (we won't) we will get plenty of points this season. We will also have poor performances, bad luck and just get turned over sometimes but that leaves me so confident that we will be one day doing that with a more complete squad with depth (god we lack depth if either of the two brazilian gods get injured we will drop points) and be doing that regularly to most teams in the league

Absolute team performance is the thing, we've been so beaten into being used to 9 useless headless chickens running round a pitch under Bruce that when someone actually did something it was really obvious
-
yes he plays better football than rafa he also has been given Bruno ffs it's not a competition lol I will adore Rafa forever for signing on when he did and for doing what he did with class and dignity in very trying circumstances. Shouldn't be remembered as didn't play as good football as after the takeover lol
-
As class as Bruno was I think anyone scoring Joelinton lower than him is madness, Joelinton absolutely led our high press and was integral to suffocating them. I also think trippier was really really good providing a lot of attacks down right. I largely agree on forwards though despite no end product ASM had a really hard working shift and worked well with others which will get rewards.
-
has anyone started a comparative points graph with last season
-
Yeah I think it's geared to the high press and does leave space behind we are definitely going to get caught like that a few times. It is like Rafa's short blanket theory you are always going to be short somewhere. Against a lethal counter attacking side especially away would probably be worth playing Shelvey or Longstaff in the deep role and tell them to make sure positioned to stop counters
-
Chelsea's away kit is awful it looks like a brand of toothpaste
-
In fairness it was Godfrey's fault not Pickfords from stupid backpass
-
only improvement would have been a trippier free kick goal from a a colback classic soft foul just outside their box
-
He is so good at head up defending too, he wins the ball and starts the attack in one motion. Such good reading of the game.
-
Worked hard, will get his reward for it if he keeps it up
-
Howe trying to pretend it was a tight game in interview, hahaha
-
Also what more can be written about big Joelinton? An absolute beast. And havent even raved about Schar and Burn yet...
-
Willock impressed me he has been so poor last season really happy to see him come back into it sure he'll get some goals soon
-
Pope 7 Trippier 9 Schar 9 Burn 8 Target 7 Joelinton 9 Bruno 8 Willock 7 ASM 7 Wilson 8 Almiron 7
-
Yes, and in fact I suspect we won't get to the champions league in time for him to be happy but we could sell him for £100m in 3 years and sign 3 more Brunos. Thats how we're doing it, sensible
-
This stupid 5 subs rule is going to be a problem mind. Come 70mins we are subbing on the likes of murphy while big teams will sub on £100m of attacking talent to chase games
-
Feel for Forest fans seeing that, they didn't offer anything at all
-
To think this moron was a little bit skeptical of Howe-ball thought he was a little unsophisticated. We look class.
