He's 33 used to playing in serie a i dunno classy player but feel maybe will struggle? Probably prove me wrong now
-
I thought most likely liverpool would bulldoze real madrid, but instead they played tentative which sometimes is smart but never seriously threatened. Real deserve this.

Hmmm. He is absolutely brilliant at some things, he can send balls in with consistent quality only probably equalled by de bruyne. He is not so good at defending, but saying 'he's not that good' is a bit wrong imo, he is that good but he is also quite flawed (TAA that is see a lot of replies)

i feel all the liverpool players are desperate to score a champions league final screamer and thus keep shooting at defenders from outside the box and wasting promising positions
-
Longer it's goaless more i fancy real, reckoned liverpool might need to have run them over by half time before benzema scores a silly undeserved hat trick after 80 mins

we're not fucking signing neymar guys

Perfectly happy with them as a pairing, an experienced upgrade on Burn would be fine I guess but almost prefer a punt on a very promising youngster if we are to reinforce

Excited to see what he can do with some proper coaching again. Thought he was really good against Arsenal, trying that long range lob and all, looked absolutely desperate to score loads. We need to sign a striker cos he can't be relied upon to stay fit unfortunately but hope he gets a chance

He joint owns the team with mercedes and Wolf (the team principle), not just sponsorship so yes very likely just off to the gp

I can't stand how condescending a lot of clubs and their fans are towards conference league, it gives a lot of modest clubs from across europe a chance to play european football, and I worry some big club from one of the big leagues that has been underperforming will win it every year while acting a bit sniffy about it. I hope when we are champions league regulars and we have a spotty season and end up in it we remember that once upon a time same as when we got to the europa league proper we would have jumped at the chance to play in it. I appreciate the difficulty for clubs playing thursday sunday week in week out, and seen people say how much it has hurt clubs but i don't think it engenders a good mentality to prefer to not play games.

For the record I would happily trade in all our wealth for a league that was run properly under a FFP set that worked where no club has significant financial advantage over the others, noone is paying ridiculous wages and no club is burying itself in debt to sustain success. There is no question the FFP rules are completely hamstrung by the fact they need to be agreed between clubs who won't vote against their self interest, so we have one that is an obstacle for new clubs to spend a lot of money which isn't an obstacle to currently established clubs who have already massively boosted their own revenue. We are likely going to need to work on and improve our revenue to enable us to spend more, this was always the case. I don't think the legal action is a helpful route. It will only rebound on us when the other clubs vote more measures targeted at us if we piss everyone off. We need to get the club making more money, there is a lot of low hanging fruit to do so. We don't need to take any shortcuts to the top, we should do it sustainably and carefully anyway. In the long term there is always the possibility of say regime change in Saudi Arabia leading to them changing their investment priorities and suddenly we are for sale again. I would much rather us be in the position of a well run club making a lot of money rather than reliant purely on money being handed down from on high.

Klopp wins for coming second? Why for gods sake. Could understand if it wasnt meant to be premier league only...ridiculous. Would understand Pep for winning it, would understand Thomas Frank, he's done great work and Klopp has done great work but arguably 2nd place is the minumum expected! grrrr

Big six is a load of bollocks, you have two very rich and more importantly very well run clubs who are absolutely miles ahead of the other 4. Chelsea only ones close and they've been miles off for a while now too. The others have very little to show for their investment but get enough to pull up drawbridge somewhat on clubs below. The main thing it serves is a marketing tool for the league to pretend it's not a two horse race and has been for years.

I remember being frustrated with Sissoko phoning it in too, he clearly had plenty of talent and I am sure it is more complicated than him not being motivated but I remember being delighted spurs decided to spend so much on him. He had some good games, his peaks were high but he wasn't consistent when we needed him. I do remember him absolutely rinsing Ashley Cole at Chelsea when we'd just bought him iirc and was glorious.

Are they going to post about every footballer we're not targeting? Having said that heard a lot of pundits saying he was very good earlier in season but fat lot of good it's done Watford.

https://fbref.com/en/players/3a949a25/Martin-Dubravka My stats head can't quite work out, he has very decent stats for expected goals against from goals against and per shots on target but his save % is very average. Can someone explain what to make of that?

Agree if we bring in a keeper it should be to get us playing better footy at the back. It may well be that we are priced out of that this window if it's not a top priority. I wouldn't be shocked if we go for a promising young keeper to provide competition rather than shelling out, and I don't think shelling out for a slightly better but same style as dubs keeper feels pointless

Villa havent impressed me at all under Gerard, however he clearly has a lot of pull to get players in which frankly might make him worthwhile. He is apparently very good at taking advice from his team and delegating so may be able to mitigate if he's hardly a tactical genius. Still I'd be a bit concerned that they were a bit of a soft touch of a team, and think i heard they do the least running of any premier league team?
-
They need a new defense, new full backs and a whole new midfield and they will blow it all on declan rice and another pointless winger
-
Does anyone think Ten Hag will do well? I am sure he would if able to shed all the dead weight and build fresh but not sure that is ever going to happen. Only PSG feels a more poisoned chalice in world football
-
Imagine going back 6 months and showing someone that, they would assume he'd suddenly become a goal machine, or we'd had the worst second half of season and we gave it to him for being only one running around as we went down
-
Neither in fairness can lampards teams

As much as being ruthless and getting a better left back appeals, there are better places to focus our spending when he is available and a sure thing. I also think there is something to be said for being loyal to players who have done very well for you, keeps dressing rooms and fans on side on same page.
