  1. Are Man United owned by Russia and is the point of the kit to advertise Russia? I understand you don't want to care, really don't mind you just enjoying the football, but that whataboutery is needless lol
  2. I think one of the problems is that a lot of media personalities feel (and are told) that in order to stand out and do well you need to have very strong 'opinions' or steaming hot takes or whatever and be very belligerent about it, and therefore get lots of responses either agreeing or angry the other way. If someone is by and large moderately sensible and not totally clinically insane therefore prolonged exposure that may be be likely to come accross and you can smooth over the absurd takes. My only arena of coming accross Simon Jordan is him being quoted on here saying something stupid or possibly other way around), therefore I build up an assumption on him that's largely unfair. I would say I would like a media arena where people aren't encouraged to "stir the pot" as I am sure is mentioned in meetings but maybe that would just be all boring where everyone basically agrees players are by and large ok, clubs should be better run and footballers do earn too much but it's not their fault repeated ad nauseam.
  3. Oh I know, I have been very open about my conflicted feelings on the takeover. I guess it's kinda better it's out in the open. What I don't like is all the disingenuous responses people send that WHAT WE CANT WEAR GREEN NOW THAT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE SAUDI COLOURS crap. It's completely fine to be not bothered by it, but pretending it's not there so you don't have to say that? Anyway as ever I will chalk it to another uncomfortable thing among many in sport
  4. Sigh worried with this if we will just became one big gaudy advertising board for Saudi Arabia after all. (the kit is actually really nice mind) but it's just an easy red flag for everyone.

    Joelinton

Oh fuck we all know who rang his doorbell
  6. I dunno there's such a thing as integrity and if he starts giving over stuff he's worked on with Brighton there's no reason to suspect he won't do the same thing to us for his next club. If I were the club and he offered to use his database while on gardening leave I would retract the job offer immediately. I'm not talking bit of advice here and there probably by the by but the scouting lists drawn up for Brighton? To me that's dishonesty and I'm sure it happens absolutely everywhere and always and it wouldn't come back on us, but you set standards from the top.
  7. Not sure we can be sniffy over someone who has reliably banged in goals in the league before, but am concerned over injury record
  8. We may be willing to pay the compensation for him to join early now we are confirmed premier league though.
  9. Yes, though I do worry he might not have the mentality to be a squad player rather than an instant starter. Sulked a fair bit about Rafa dropping him and when he did get a game wasn't at his best at all. I hope we upgrade him, and if he has the right mentality would be happy for him to be in squad, but might be sensible to see if can get some money for him too.
  10. What you talking about Bruno G is waaaay better
  11. I dunno actually. He did do a few games ok, but that was also with players coming back from injury. He has tried to dramatically change how they play and in this sharp end of the season the team seem ready to crumble and mentally weak. I question if a classic pfm just gonna sort the defense out style appointment might actually have been better.
  12. Lost respect for Marsh with his inspirational quotes crap, as if spouting martin luthor king in a dressing room will do much. ted lasso indeed.
  13. Yeah I get that but I dunno fail to make big impression in first 10 games you're out there and then everyone knows you as a flop who was a bit a twat to a prior club.
  14. Have to think, he'd have other championship offers surely, no point going to Watford you ain't going to last long and you're going to look a fool
  15. Aaah Ok should have realized. Guadiola and Klopp then is a straight shootout for whoever wins it, I wouldn't give it to either though just cos winning the league is where they both should be with their teams. Moyes is good shout, Thomas Frank should be good shout, and Howe good shout. Can't really think of any other manager who weren't pants for substantial parts of the season.
  16. Of those 4, Guardiola, no unfortunately just winning the league (assuming he does) is not really quite good enough when you;re at City to get you manager of year. If Klopp still wins the 'quadruple' obviously, but he won't and could still lose the champions league and the league and then winning 1 or 2 cups is good but kinda expected much like Guardiola. Still if he only lost league wouldn't think it would be a terrible decision. Moyes I think would be a fine pick as he is doing a very good job, although looks like they fall just short of hopes of top 6 finish (or even higher at points). Could pip Man U to 6th though and though got knocked out was a good run in Europa league and if so wouldn't hate. Howe has done a great job would be a fine pick but I doubt he will get it. Partly because I think a lot don't quite appreciate how bad we were before he joined.
  17. It does look like it'll be like winter in that it will be Mandy, Eddie and Nickson in a room doing everything themselves as haven't got the backroom structure in place yet. They did fine before, apart from the Chris Wood panic buy. It will probably mean it will be largely one at a time at least on complicated transfers but have more time over summer.
  18. If we go on a big splurge and buy a bunch of very expensive players at once a la man united and they don't click into a brilliant squad (a la man united) you end up with a bunch of players who you can't shift because noone wants to pay what you paid for them stinking up the dressing room for ages, and even when you may be able to accept a moderate loss in terms of selling on you find noone will match their wages. We shouldn't bring in players at massively higherwages than rest of dressing room, that needs to be done sensibly to keep team together. We are not going to be splashing 100m on anyone or anything close for a while. Once the team is competing decently (and importantly have reliable saleable assets if needed) we may well start spending big on a player or two I'd guess to a) push us into competing at the top and b) increase our marketability. I also fear that latter stage will be when the squad loses any likability lol
  19. Liverpool come off like everyone should admire them and how wonderful they are and their history etc. Man City maybe a gaudy oil club (like us now lol) but I kinda prefer that to the smugness that liverpool exude. It's all arbitrary and i will hate man city next week you ask, and...i think klopp is very good and they are fun to watch but man they are too successful right now. Broadly i also dislike how everyone is pretending that there is like a group of premier league teams on similar level at the top when the reality is liverpool and man city are almost embarrassingly dominant right now. They are an absolute country mile ahead of any other team in the league. I seriously think Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs are closer to us than they are to them two in terms of quality accross season and cups etc.
  20. Yeah one of those we're not that bothered things but still wonder if mind doing us a favour was mentioned by chairmen at start
  21. slightly suspicious tbh
  22. I fear some people who talk as if a whole new squad is going to be bought are going to be disappointed. They may spend more than they announce in advance but all talk is about taking it slow.
  23. Haha the poor journos were all ready to file too
