We ground out results against teams like bolton etc last season much better than we did previous season, even when playing badly, we racked up a lot of points like that.

I've enjoyed it, yes goals stopped a bit after group stages but it's been less negative than the world cup and some interesting tactical battles. If Italy win tonight it may spell a shift away from defensive possession and counter attacking as the two types (with the latter being the majority) with more teams trying to bully around Spain further up the pitch. Negative tactics haven't really worked for anyone. Also lots of headers which is good.

Agree with this. Unless the club knows we're likely to lose Ba then I'm not so concerned about not getting De Jong in - so long as we get a CB and RB. this, only concern is without Best and so many fixtures we do want a striker, surprised we're going for this though, more expected a cheap prospect striker who may get a few games and come through in future.
