I think "best player" arguments are daft. He was probably our most high profile player, along with Gini, and certainly our most valuable, money wise but "best"? I don't think Moussa was the best anything to be honest. I'd argue Lascelles, Hayden and Gayle are probably more vital to the overall functioning of our team. Sissoko might have gave us the odd moment of quality but it probably would have detracted from the ethos of the team and the type of club Rafa is trying to promote. Sissoko played for himself and, quite frankly, wasn't that good. Agree with this. Whilst Sissoko probably had the most natural ability within our squad, I don't think we would've seen it if he did stay here for at least another 6 months.

Brighton will definitely be up there as will Norwich. I think Fulham and Huddersfield will fall away, although Huddersfield might have a chance of nicking a play off place. Can't see Villa even making the play off spots to be honest, I think they'll end up between 9th-12th in the league.

8/10 for me as well. We've shifted the players who didn't want to be here (getting ridiculous fees for Sissoko and Wijnaldum) while also flogging the majority of the deadwood that has been lingering at the club for the past 18-24 months. We've done well to get players like Armstrong and Sterry out on loan to clubs that will only help their development and both should come back better players next summer with a chance of breaking into the first team. The players who have been brought in all seem like they want to play for the club and aren't just using us for a stepping stone (granted it's early days) although I am concerned about the signings of Clark and possibly Hanley, I'd feel extremely wary if we were heading into a Premier League season with either in our squad next summer. Was against the Murphy signing when it was rumoured as well but see sense in the deal now and can't see him starting many games here. 10/10 for the way we handled the Moussa Sissoko deal though and the £30m fee minutes before the deadline was the icing on the cake

Anyone notice in the first half when Shelvey was driving forward and being pulled back about 30 yards from goal, miscontrolled the ball then went diving in on one of the wildest lunges on their player to win back the ball? Was certain he was going to get sent off for that but the referee had already pulled it back for a foul to us and I don't think he even seen the Shelvey 'tackle' Then about 5 minutes later he did get booked for another reckless tackle.

Be well p*ssed off if he ends up here, don't want him anywhere near our club.
