  1. Basically, can't hurt to have someone who can cover multiple positions though.
  2. Considering both Moussa and Wijnaldum were part of the reason the team was so imbalanced ( playing on the wings constantly) he can be a Sissoko replacement and also play as a CM, the two things are not mutually exclusive to one another. In fact it's most likely the team will be set up so differently because of how imbalanced the team was that like for like replacements probably don't actually exist.
  3. What hype? we are happy that we are getting a midfielder how can actually get the ball into forward areas and score himself considering all our CMs are borderline trash offensively. That's all, i don't see the hype you seem to think is there.
  4. In the championship probably not. We're going to be the big fish here so it's more likely the onus will be on us to break teams down who are sitting deep. I hope we're also looking to bring in someone with a bit of creativity in the middle. various people keep saying this but no-one really says what they mean or what type of player they are talking about, is a(nother) number 10 you're on about or a different type of CM? Different type of CM personally, although with this signing I doubt that happens now.
  5. Aye because he played behind the striker at Hull probably just means Steve Bruce being Steve Bruce tbh.
  6. Think the four is including Diame tbh, also Caulkin said yesterday that Knockaert isn't happening.
  7. Not really surprising when Caulkin said the same thing yesterday.
  8. As if he's going to stay man They are in a fucking mess, another club might come in I'll grant you but not a chance in hell he's staying.
  9. You are being laughed at because you want to get rid of our unhappy players for dirt cheap. We are likely to get 50m+ for Wijnaldum and Sissoko and the way you go on you would have been happy with 10m combined because they want out. What you need to realise is the TV deal happened, so every club can spend 20m+ without batting an eyelid. Football isn't where it was before the TV deal. You are basically acting like the TV deal never happened and average players are not going for 15-20m because every club has obscene amounts of money. That's why you are being laughed at.
  10. That clause was weird something like it only gave us the right to speak to him or something stupid.
  11. I remember similar sayings last summer. I don't remember many who were particularly happy tbh.
  12. Not what I expected but I'll take it, he should be really good at this level.
  13. Like Joey said there's a thread for bullshit like that
  14. That's about right. Yep, hopefully one of those two bids is for a winger seeing as Knockaert isn't happening seemingly.
  15. Me too, injury prone or not he is a special talent. Don't see it happening unless we sell another deep lying mid though, while he offers more attacking wise than what we have he isn't an attacking mid that we need either. Why do we need an attacking mid? We have plenty of those, what we don't have is many central midfielders who can pass the ball more than a couple of yards. If anything what we need more than anything is a player like Hughes but I haven't seen any links.
  16. We've only signed 1 player from the Championship and paid around £6m for him. The 2 players we signed in the £10- £12m bracket dropped down from the PL so I can't see your argument in saying "as shown with our signings already". Because we signed Gayle and Ritchie based on their championship performances. Lord knows they have done nothing in the PL to be worthy of the prices we paid. 10m is fuck all in this day and age anyway.
  17. Ritchie played on the left yesterday apparently so that doesn't seem to be an issue.
  18. There's no real proof that Moses is any better though, for starters he's been bang average for years and tbh hasn't really done anything since leaving Wigan. He apparently is very good in this league, no worse than Ritchie or Gayle have been anyway who we spent between 20-25m on the both of them to sign. 10-15m is just the going rate for good championship players these days as shown with our signings already, don't really see what the issue is.
  19. We just got 25m from Wijnaldum and will probably get something similar for Sissoko, no way can Brighton resist if we go high enough. Which in all honesty there is no reason we shouldn't do if the club is serious about Rafa being in complete control. We can't be held to ransom just because we've got money. Anything above 10m would be excessive but it depends on just how much Rafa wants him. There's certainly alternative options out there if they refuse to deal with us at a realistic price. Aye but it's Brighton (no offence to them ) I doubt they'll be in a position to hold out for extreme amounts. They'll accept anything around 10-13m imo, also I'd argue most of the signings were a bit excessive this summer bur if you can then so be it.
  20. We just got 25m from Wijnaldum and will probably get something similar for Sissoko, no way can Brighton resist if we go high enough. Which in all honesty there is no reason we shouldn't do if the club is serious about Rafa being in complete control.
  21. Zonal marking has just as many strengths and weaknesses as man marking tbh and just as many teams if not more have success with it. At the end of the day it depends on what type of players you have, but for some reason in England it's absolutely despised as a rule.
  22. but why? I've asked this question many times and a few people have just told me to trust Rafa. I do trust Rafa but it still annoys me we have not signed a central midfielder to push this c*** out of the team. I'll say the same thing I said last time, how do you know he isn't trying to do just that? Because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean he has no plans to do so.
  23. Hope you learned your lesson about not running onto the pitch.
