He's a good player but completely unnecessary, CB, fullback and a back up striker all before a winger for me.
-
There was some real quality he didn't name either, ridiculous how far we have come in 2-3 years.
-
So do i, but doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to improve ourselves.
-
I have watched Kagawa for a few years now and when he's in full flow he reminds me of a mix of Ozil and Fabregas in terms of style of play Absolutely quality player.
-
Your worried about buying a quality CB to compete with Taylor because your concerned he might bench Taylor? I'm sorry but that's a loser mentality, to get where we want to be we need more than 2 top class CB's if Douglas comes in and performs better than Taylor and Taylor doesn't like it then boo hoo. If we ever have the possibility to add quality to the squad we should take it, especially considering Taylor's injury record.

Man Utd have needed another midfielder or two for a good 4 years imo, bit of energy and presence is lacking and they struggle when teams play high-tempo pressing against them, tonight, us, basel, bilbao last season, barca's closing down (though who doesnt struggle against them?). Fletcher provided that to an extent but he was never top drawer and i don't think he'll get back to his old form, while Anderson is the closest they have for providing that and he is an utter joke, strings 4 or 5 good games every season and is a fat waste of space rest of the time. I do think Kagawa fills the gap in terms of clever passing though - will be a sound replacement for the player Scholes used to be. Agree completely, also consider fullbacks a weakness hell it's not proven yet but i could see CB being a weakness long term too if Vidic doesn't come back to the level he was before There were many more areas of weakness than upfront.

Yep if we can get Douglas and Debuchy and keep everyone i will be absolutely ecstactic.
-
Everton were fantastic, Fellaini and Jagielka in particular. The only real positive point for Man U was Kagawa who was class. Anyway Utd's weakpoints that were showed up in Europe and various PL games last season are still very apparent and ignoring them to get RVP was very stupid. It's not kneejerk either as i said that when they signed RVP.

VI was it just me or did Barca look a lot more direct last night than in the last 2 years of Guardiola? Still had the same possession ideals but they seemed to be passing more with a purpose than the latter years of Guardiola. The ideals seemed very similar to how Barca played in Guardiola's first year actually. Could have just been me, but that's what it seemed like.

I think one of the reasons i refuse to be decieved by Arsenal any more is because every year since Vieira left it is said they won't finish top 4 and every year they do. They have been in a lot weaker positions than this before and still proved people wrong like last season for example they were so weak they had to buy 5 or 6 on deadline day. They are much stronger now then their were then, quite rightly said it could go all wrong but i don't think it will as you said wait and see i suppose.

Individually the defence is fine, their defenders are good enough for France, Germany and Belgium but not good enough for Arsenal? Nope not for me, their problem is system based. Also the premier league experience argument doesn't wash with me, you would of thought after all the players we have bought with no PL experience over last few years people would have learnt by now that if your good enough it means absolutely nothing. Still think they will comfortably finish top 4.

I would agree if Ba and Cisse didn't piss off to Africa most seasons lol, if AFCON didn't exist then i'd argue we don't even need a striker as we can just replace Ba or Cisse with a wide player. AFCON is the reason we need one IMO.

To me comparing the two players, Marveaux remind me more of Silva while Ben Arfa reminds me of some ridiculous mix of Robben and Ribery. Not to say they are as good as them but in style that's who they remind me of, both are class but for different reasons. Just hope Marv can stay fit, Marv and HBA running at teams would be ridiculous.
-
Don't worry, if he keeps this up the end of season compilation will probably be about an hour long.
-
Tbh any fullback that is comfortable in possession and can contribute to the attack would improve us a lot, not just Debuchy. Although Debuchy is clearly my first choice.
-
I'd prefer Perch too, but i can't see it happening. Mind you having said that i didn't think we would see Perch ahead of Williamson for Spurs.
-
I did yes, but i feel it would have been a lot of easier if we had someone who is better at striding out from the back like Colo does. I suppose it did'nt help that the distance between the defence and the midfield was so far apart and we did improve in this regard in the second half when we had more numbers in midfield. I definitely would get a CB in, we can't be missing Colo for too long especially with Taylor likely to break something at any moment.
-
Definitely agree on fullbacks, Sagna aside who is brilliant i don't rate any of them. People go on and on about CB's for Arsenal but personally i feel fullbacks is a much weaker position for them.

Don't agree with that tbh, Ben Arfa is restricted in 4-4-2 he has to start so deep with his runs and it's a lot harder to be effective. -
Not many of them were forward passes, which is my point Colo is fantastic at that and i still feel despite how well Perch and Saylor did that we missed Colo's distribution. We need a CB anyway, i just would like that CB to be comfortable too and making the point.

Sahin is basically an Alonso clone, except he's better in tight spaces and is better at dealing with being pressed. But vastly inferior. Of course he's about 10 years younger.

Was just thinking that, i have done a complete 180 on the kit tbh.
