He still looked a little short of confidence at times which is to be expected due to the lack of service/real match practice of actually playing as a striker with support from his team mates, but I reckon this was best game for us so far. As a collective unit the team played well with the exception of Perez (who I'm a massive fan of) who was completely anonymous and sluggish when he did have the ball. McClaren was talking about the teams character and I'm unsure if it's down to the 'play against the big team' mentality we occasionally adopt, whether they're lifted by the new signings or they actually have turned a bit of a corner and look ready for a fight.
