Good news if he misses out IMO, increases the chance of shit Coloccini playing
-
If Adam Johnson is available surely he'll have better options than the mackems??
-
I've actually got an Auntie Carol. True story.
-
Aye, really not getting the Harper-hate - he's never let us down, and adds bags of experience to a youthful lineup.
-
"And Pardew confident a blend of young and inexperienced players can do a job for him." That's not a blend, they're both the same thing. Missing the word "is" too. Monkey with a typewriter could do better.

Rodgers is effectively begging us to come up with a half decent bid so he can let him go and the club saves some small amount of face - seems clear the only options are us or he stays put. In his first big test he's failed at football management 101, never talk down your assets, especially your most fucking expensive one! How hard would it have been for him to say on day 1 "Carroll is a great player, I'm looking forward to working with him and watching him score loads of goals for Liverpool". Even if everyone knows you don't mean it, you've still got to say it.

Could be starting according to the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9493522/Newcastle-manager-Alan-Pardew-set-to-unleash-17-year-old-striker-Adam-Campbell-against-Atromitos.html

I like it - excellent work

Excellent news. Does he come straight in for Saturday it Tiote is out?

From the SMB: Wolves playing the saga out in the media is getting quite tedious. SAFC showing some class in keeping quiet. Read more: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=721790&page=2#ixzz23WMWzFqP They just can't help themselves

Fee of around 8 millions euros seems to have been mentioned previously, which is just over 6 million quid at today's exchange rate. Sterling is around 20% up on this time a year ago, which adds even more value to our European shopping trips!

IMO. That'll sort it out for sure Swearing at the ref or assistants should be a straight red IMO, and only the captains allowed to talk to the ref to discuss decisions.
-
Aye, probably to Stamford Bridge...
-
1 goal scored in 5 pre-season games against weak opposition. They're in big trouble without a couple of decent striker signings....

Hartlepool United 1 - 5 Newcastle United - 07/08/12 (FT)

They've given relatively short notice too - less time for the mongs to organise themselves. -
Glad I didn't watch this - football at the Olympics just doesn't feel right.

Guess a lot depends on who our backup target is - if there's a player of similar standard available they know they can get for this amount then you can understand the reluctance to offer more.
-
Have to agree - it will be the final 'weak link' in the best XI filled, which I see as: Krul, Debuchy, Taylor, Colo, Santon, Jonas, Cabaye, Tiote, HBA, Ba, Cisse. If we can get them all on the pitch together regularly, we'll be laughing. That is a fantastic XI mind - obviously we don't have the strength in depth of some of our competitors but you're looking at pretty big money for a significant upgrade on any of that lot.

Classy http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=717924 Love how anyone daring to voice a negative opinion is immediately branded a mag
-
Aye, obviously. Hopefully Julio Leftsidededforwardo will be brought in for around £7m and will just definitely be better than Carroll could ever dream of being. To be fair, he's class on FM
-
At least if West Ham get a bid accepted we'll know what sort of numbers we're potentially dealing with.
-
Think so, Olympics bloke on Look North news last night was saying the ticket office at the ground would be open on match days.
